When I bought this book, I was expecting to find it full of new and exiting spells. That is half the case. This book consists of only spell, which is fine, except many of the spells that are in here are also in the 3.5 PHB. Yes there are new spells, but it doesn't designate which are new and which are copies. The book does have some cool new spells, but it also has magic missle and fireball, identical to the ones in the PHB. Besides the fact that this book just rehashes many spells everyone playing D&D already has, another disappointment is that there is no consolidated spell list like there is in the PHB. So unless you want to go through the book and read every page, you will never know exactly what spells you have at your finger tips. In short I was disappointed to find spells in the PHB in this book, it does have new spells, but is it worth it? I don't think so.

This title was pulled by the publisher following a disagreement with JMS over reviewing / blessing the contents. No B5 novel titles are listed on the Mongoose web site and forum posts discussing such have been deleted. While I do hope the differences can be worked out, it looks bleak at this point.

A book of extremely unprofessional conception, design, and execution. Amateurish in extreme. Future editions--if any--must feature heavy revision. However, it is, in fact, a superb model for how *NOT* to publish a book.

My 4th grade son needed a fiction book about snakes for a reserach project and was excited to find this "book." Unfortunately, this is not a book that any publisher paid an author for; rather, it's a self-published work containing a story written and illustrated by a child. I guess that's what they mean by "children's book"! You may want to skip this one unless you are a relative of the author.

When this book first came out, it was the first support the Psychic Warrior had seen, but it was and is very disapointing. Keep in mind that Psionics has moved to Expanded Psionic Handbook since this book came out so several sections are now for rules no longer used. Other aspects of this book will also need revisions to work.
Many powers have too many built in drawbacks to be usefull; Void Targeting allows to target everyone in the area of effect with a missle weapon, allies included!
Chakra Access section reads more like a guide to scarification and canibalism than role playing.
The weapon meditations are a nice idea, but why does my Psychic Corsair wielding a cutlass get a bonus to Mounted Combat?
Too many of the feats are just bonuses for using the powers in the book, why would I take a feat that allows me to use two specific powers in a round when I can take Quicken Power and do the same with any two powers?
The Prestige classes return power advancement back to 1st level and one has the benefit or an Improved version of a power the Psychic Warrior has no access to.
If you have the time and inclination, there are some ideas that can be salavaged with some hard work, but overall, this is a book to avoid.

This book is not up to the normally high standards of the Slayers Guide series. Very skimpy on useful or new ideas, the only suggestions for making orcs tougher enemies are "use lots and lots of them" and make them higher-level monsters. Wow, I'd never have thought of those. This book presents absolutely nothing original or new about orcs, no new battle tactics, nothing to make them unique. A few [disappointing] social conventions to justify calling it a "guide" (orcs mix blood with mead to make a special brew, orcs play a sport with severed heads remarkably like the Afghan game buzkashi).
The author has a fascination with the fact that orcs will [attack] anything that moves. Not surprising, but it comes up on every other page! Also, they're really violent and cruel! No kidding...This was a weak effort all around. The cover art is cool, but the childish illustrations on the inside are just pathetic. For a better approach to the Slayers Guide idea, check out The Slayers Guide to Hobgoblins. I should have taken the money for this one and rolled a smoke instead. This book [disappointed].
