Kangaroos Books

I used this book to teach the letter x to my preschool class. It is an excellent teaching tool because it uses x in many different ways and is also entertaining to children.

I was able to positively identify several pieces in my collection using this very compact but useful book. I consider it a must for any serious collector.

The Granny Jones tarot deck is wonderful. The cards are so easy to read. There are key words on the cards, as well as the book to help the first time user, but the art work is so simple and descriptive they aren't necessary. Everyone who has seen my deck loves it, unfortunately, even in the designers home state the deck is hard to come by. Simplicity may be the key to her cards attractiveness, and perhaps the explanations such as why a big hairy spider and the man tied to a post is The Devil card just make sense.Whimsical,delightful and anything but incomprehensible. (A shared love of cats helps)

Bamboo World is one of the very best , most comprehensive,most
detailed , best photographed, authoritative texts on bamboos
and clumping bamboos especially that there is (was!) available.
Why the heck it would now be out of print is a real mystery.
It is also a pity and a blow to those of us cultivating
clumping bamboos.
This book is IT for those who do.
Bring it back into print ASAP....

I first bought the book specifically to make a beaded butterfly for a friend (for whom that had some emotional significance). I made the butterfly - then every other animal in the book. The start of an obsession! The instructions are clear, the patterns are well thought out (some very cleverly created), the techniques are easy once you get the hang of it.

Since buying the book over a year ago, I have been searching for other books on creating beaded animals, but have not found any as devoted to the subject as this one. I'm eagerly awaiting the authors' second book. If it's not already in the works, I hope it soon will be (hint, hint).....

The Book of Suns is the first book ever writen by Pennsylvania author Nancy Springer. Long out of print, it can be found under it's new, and rewriten, title " The Silver Sun". TSS tells the mythic story of Alan and Hal, two wandering stangers of the land known as Isle. In this land we are still close to the beginnings of the world and its magic and its creatures are still to be found hiding amoungst it people. TTS follows Alan and Hal as they travel Isle, suffer many hardships, and come to be as brothers in their attempt to overthrow the rule of the evil eastern sorcerer/priests. My 1 year old daughter can't go to bed without me reading/acting this book to her. It's her absoulute favorite, and I just want to know if there are any other titles with similar format by the same or different authors?

So vintage, so adorable, with Capt. Kangaroo from the popular retro TV series, along with Mr. Green Jeans, Puppy Dog, Greenaroo (my favorite, great parakeet), Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit. One of them is very good at hiding. Full color 50's style illustrations - meaning fabulous! Intense and vivid. This book will take you back there! Highly recommended rare book.
