Kangaroos Books

This story is about a kangaroo named Sally, and the friends of hers that live in the forests of Tasmania. There are some strange animals that live there and you get to meet some of them.
This story also deals with the issues that everyone faces, why are we different? Why can I do things beter then others and vice versa? You learn that we are special.
Sally likes to run, alot, but her friends can not keep up with her. They do not want to play her games any more, she goes for a walk to think about things, there is a human pinic with a fire,the wind pics up and the fire goes into the forest. Will she get to her friends in time?

I just received this book, and I think it is funny and the illustrations are cute! The author covers many different topics that are interesting and should be helpful. I really am enjoying reading through it and skipping around the different sections learning new things. My friends and I are having a blast!

Kangaroos are beautiful, exotic, intelligent and mysterious animals. Largely found only in Australia and New Zealand, kangaroos are recognized all over the world but little is known about their true habits. This book explores the kangaroos' world, including social, eating and mating habits. Many, many other topics are covered as well. Although it is written for young adults, any age group will find this book highly interesting and entertaining. Readers will walk away with a whole new appreciation for these wonderful animals!

This is a cute story in a set of 8 books called the Animal Storybooks by Rebecca Johnson. It is a simple story about a kangaroos who are caught ina forest fire and how they escape. The use of live photography is just wonderful. My children really enjoy reading these books over and over again

Jean Sievert has shown incredible imagination and insight in this narrative poem about Kerchoo Kangaroo and his adventures. Her development of Kerchoo's character is subtle, yet captivating for children of all ages. A must read!

All of the books in this series are 6 inches square, 8-12 pages long, use mostly CVC words, and contain a cartoon illustration with a short text on each page.

There are more lines of text on each page than in the Hop Book series.

I would like this series better if each book were confined to rhyming (bat, cat, rat) or alliterating (can, fan, man) words. Such a series would comply with Piaget's finding that younger children can focus on only one variable at a time.

Anyone interested in Lanz tractors and their history should read this book. It includes a large number of high-quality photos of most of the Lanz models some of which because they come from a variety of countries will inevitably be new to almost every reader. The text provides an interesting account of Lanz tractors during their development.

This book is the result of my mother's struggle to salvage what she could of her heritage after fleeing Latvia after the second World War. Her love for weaving led her to weave many national costumes for women in the country where she settled, Australia. Her passion in collecting woven samples and then reproducing them herself was a credit to her as she made it easier for me, her daughter, the task of sorting and documenting her work.

My 8-month old loves this book. He sees the cover and smiles immediately. The text and illustrations are simple but speak right to the heart of your little friend. What a wonderful first book for any child!

Blue Kangaroo has never had Christmas before, so everything is new--the tree, the garlands, the gifts, the stockings. As people's comments accumulate ("This will be Blue Kangaroo's first Christmas tree/stocking/gift/etc") little Blue Kangaroo feels unable to match the largesse. When Father Christmas comes to visit, the reciprocity problem is solved very neatly with a stocking, a blue heart on the tree and a plate of cookies shared. All children who have been whipped to a buying frenzy by relentless television commercials would be nicely enriched by this sweetly restrained story. Don't forget to share a plate of cookies and a glass of milk with your young reader at the end.
