I got this book for myself and my daughter immediately fell in love with it and walked off with that copy but I like it so much that I bought another copy for myself that I will hide. This is a wonderful book; the pictures and the captions are incredible. A must-have for anyone that loves cats or even remotely likes kittens or cats.

This book is one that you can flip through again and again. Not only are the kittens absolutely adorable to look at, but the photographs are so well done that it's impossible NOT acknowledge how talented Rachael Hale is. It is sure to make a great gift for anyone and everyone, no matter what the occasion is. With those precious little kitties captured in the cutest of moments, paired along with fantastic quotes leading you towards a happier life, how can you go wrong?

I'm not one for coffee table books but WOW this one is so cute!

-- Absolutely irresistible.

I bought this on a whim through a book club offer and am so happy I did. It is soooo wonderful. The photos aren't just *cute* but also well-shot. They have an artistic bent -- not just another cute kitties book -- and are very uplifting. The author pairs heart-melting photographs of kittens (mostly 6 weeks old) with day-brightening quotes from various authors and philosophers.

For some reason, looking at their happy little furry faces never gets old, and never fails to put a smile on my face. This is a wonderful book to get and to share with the other animal lovers in your life. :-)

I loved this book as a child -- even though by then Neil Armstrong's real life adventures had made the science fiction obsolete. A good story is a good story, and kids will love the brave and resourseful cat.

Space Cat is timeless.

I have been searching for the book "Space Cat Meets Mars" for decades. If "Space Cat" is the same book, I read it in the 1960's when in elementary school, and renewed it as many times as the library would allow. As the years passed, I never forgot what an incredible impact this story had on me as a child. Now after more than 30 years, I don't recall precisely the story line or details, yet I do recall the book as part of a fond childhood memory.

"Space Cat " stories are superb!!!

The "Space Cat" series is my most favorite reading from my Elementary school years!!! I, too, renewed as often as permitted, read them to my cousins, and whoever else would listen. As an adult, I've read them to my children, and have been searching for a way to have them as part of our family library. This is great!!!

In the hope that the series is reissued.

Space Cat, Space Cat Visits Venus, Space Cat Meets Mars, and Space Cat and the Kittens, are all favorites from my childhood, and my adulthood. I rechecked them to read to my children and would like to have the rest to keep my copy of Space Cat company in my private library and to share with my grandchildren.

This is one of the best books for children, starting in about 3rd grade on. Even adults enjoy it. It is very funny. It is about the adventures of a dog and cat. It is one of the best children's books I have read. It was already out of print when we got it out of the library when my daughter was a child. When I found this one, I passed it around to all my adult friends and they really enjoyed a nice, clean, easy, very funny, read. Your children will really love this. It is one of those books you will really enjoy reading to them.

This is the Best book ever, and I can't believe it's out of print! It's REALLY, REALLY, REALLY funny, and if you've read it once, you'll read it again. It's a twist of animal humor, a LITTLE, TEENSY, WEENSY bit of romance, and, if I didn't make it clear enough before, HILARIOUS humor. The book's about a dog named Huey, who's telling the story, and his friend, Taxi. Huey's just a good natured hound, but Taxi is a fun loving cat. They soon meet up with Boots, another cat, but Taxi and Boots have a TON of disagreements, so they get off with a bad start. Soon, Taxi finds himself actually LIKING Boots, but she still hates him, and they get into a cat fight, so to speak, but eventually they make up. I can't write enough words to say how great this book is, so I'll cut it down to only nine: You've GOT to read this book!!!!! It's REALLY great!!!!!

I just completed this book which I did with my Bible study group as a group study. It is one of the best studies we have done. This is a great book for any Christian or really for anyone - the judgment seat is not a topic often covered in church. For individual or group study, it is definitely a must read.

All I can say is, "Wow!" I could not put this book down. The authors draw you in and keep you asking for more. I had never heard of the Judgement Seat of Christ until I had the honor of being a student under Jamie Lash at Dallas Baptist University. I always thought that judgement was for the unbelievers. But there is a judgement for Christians as well. We will be rewarded for the works we do here on Earth. Not only are we saved from eternal separation from God but we will also receive rewards! God is GREAT! But it is important to know that some will not receive a reward on that day. This book will motivate you to aim for the prize!!!!!

What do you know about the Judgment Seat of Christ?

Review Date: 2004-12-08
The answer is probably not enough. I heard an interview with Jamie Lash on the radio and was intrigued. Actually, I felt a certain fear & trepidation about reading the book, because I knew it would require a complete change of perspective & immediate action. Many people get laxidasical with the fact we are saved by grace and our works don't get us into heaven! That is true, but do our works matter--Yes, indeed! This book will help get a Christian past having mere "fire insurance," bur realizing we need to serve Christ everyday and we WILL be judged for our works while in the body. This will be a judgment of rewards or lack of rewards, but an extremely important judgment nonetheless. If you're considering buying the book, please do so, because it contains important truths not found in many other Christian books!

After the gospel, this is THE most important truth to know

I believe that after THE GOSPEL, This is THE most important truth that anyone can ever hear. In fact, I often describe it as "THE GOSPEL FOR CHRISTIANS." If believers really embrace this extremely motivation truth, their lives will never be the same again.

Since reading "This Was Your Life?" in 1999, there is not a day that I do not think about living for THAT DAY instead of just TODAY. I have now bought over 400 copies of the book and about 20 copies of the video series.

I have distibuted these copies resulting in overwhelmingly positive and grateful responses. Most people have had similar reactions to mine and have in turn ordered more books to give to the believers they knonw. There is just no way to measure the far-reaching impact this book will have on eternity.

Sharan Newman's To Wear the White Cloak pulled me in and held my attention through the story so well that, when it ended, I wanted more. She portrayed a realistic family living in France in the time of the Crusades, with all their problems, and how they related to one another, in a way that my modern mind could embrace; yet the setting and events were authentic to the historical period. I remembered and mused over the characters' words and thoughts long after I closed the book.

This book is as funny a book as you'll get in this series.

Review Date: 2004-05-28
This book is quite different than the previous books in this series. For one thing, it's actually quite humourous and although there is a murder, it happens sometime before the book actually begins. The dead body of what appears to be a knight of the crusade is found by Catherine and Edgar in their Paris home after they've been away for a year. The scandal from that, as well as a lot of rumours that are going around Paris about them causes them to set out to find first who the knight was, and then to determine who killed him. This book is peopled by a lot of characters, and that can be confusing, and there is a lot of unrelated action going on, so it gets a bit disjointed at times, but it is funny, and that is very different for a Catherine LeVendeur mystery. Ms. Newman's research is still very extensive, and her two main characters are just as likeable, so not a bad addition to this series.

Best Catherine Book Yet?

After reading this book, I am dying to get the next in the series on my nightstand. Sharan Newman's books are so engaging in their plots, well-crafted subplots, and details of medieval life that you almost hate to finish one. Her works are intelligently written and addictively interesting. Four stars, no question.

I couldn't wait for this latest installment of Sharan Newman's series featuring the clever and clumsy Catherine and her stalwart spouse Edgar, set in the 1140's, this time back in Paris. Just as with her previous novels, I was more than satisfied. I discovered Catherine and Edgar in "Cursed in the Blood" just after our return from Scotland and the north of England this summer, visiting castles of our ancestors dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, primarily. Newman has such a thorough grounding in the history of the time and yet she has the ability to bring her characters to life. I raced through all of her previous novels in the series, except for the next to last one--on order!--just prior to this one, "To Wear the White Cloak". In this latest story, Catherine and Edgar were shocked upon their return from what seems to have been a dangerous and difficult journey to Germany to find a very dead (and moldy!) Knight of the Temple locked inside her father's home. The well-educated twosome have to counter the suspicion that quickly falls on their family, as before, by solving the murder themselves. This is accomplished while they deal with the everyday issues of raising their family in health and safety, establishing themselves financially, and even struggling with moral issue of birth control. You will do yourself a favor if you begin reading Newman's books--go back and read the others--if you have an appreciation for this time period and for an excellent mystery. (Note to fans of Ellis Peters: finally, someone to (almost) fill her shoes)

Another wonderful addition to the series

Newman just kepts improving with age. How she manages to come up with all these new settings, people, and situations is beyond me. Each book can stand on it's own, but I'm happy to have read them all in order to allow me to see how each character in the story has changed and matured.
I hope this series never ends!

This is the first time Peggy Chun's stunning paintings are all available in one place for a very reasonable price.
As an absolute bonus, she shares with you, through the eyes of Boo, her wonderous, wise, and very famous
feline, her deepest, most personal feelings. The affliction that for most of us would hold us hostage, but for Peggy, incredible, amazing, inspirational Peggy Chun, is just another avenue to allow her to express what
moves her soul to create, without intermission, the images that have made her the famous artiste that she is.
If you found your way to this book, consider yourself blessed by an angel with a paradisical pallette that has been painted from through both of her hands, her teeth, her eyes and her mind. Use your own mind's eye to eat up the fruit of a tree of life that will never stop giving.

I used this book for a recent Special Needs training I facilitated at South Carolina University in Sumter, SC. The Preschool teachers loved it because it got over and sealed the point I was trying to make. "Don't change the child, change the environment in which the child is in." It gave them a more open mind of how to adapt their classrooms for the children in which they serve.

This is, I think very much more for a child from 2-4 than anything else. The language is simple as are the concepts. It is very good humoured and beautifully illustrated. This is a book my 2 and 4 year old love to look at.

There are quite complicated illustrations of Winnies house which is a large castle - it is all in black. The problem is that Winnie's cat is also black, she can see the cat when its eyes are open, but when they are closed she keeps tripping over it - so she changes the colour of the cat.

It is a simple story, just a couple of plot elements, a little bit of problem solving and a happy ending (as you would expect) It is a nice book for discussing how to solve problems with children - (for instance what would you do if you kept tripping over the cat? what colour would you like best here? and so on) Its a nice book for opening up dialogue, and also for leading into art and creativity.

It is also a nice book just to read - and it is a favourite with my two at bed time right now. I think the cat is the most appealing thing in it, which is well drawn and a bit leggy, the illustrations remind a lot of Ronald Searle/Quentin Blake style.

I see there are more books in this series and I am keen to get hold of them for the girls before they grow out of them

Each of the 12 months, there is is a quote relating to kittens and interesting kitten facts and tips. The calander also gives details on how to enroll a picture of your kitten for the 2003 calander.

365 pictures of kittens makes a great Christmas gift---a smile for every day of year. People from all over the world send in their cutest kitten photographs (see my little Fiona on June 12th) to be selected for the calendar. If you buy a copy of the 2002 version, there is an entry blank on the first interior page, so that you, too can send in your kitten's photographs for the 2003/2004 contest.

This is the best kitten calendar for every day of the year! I have purchased this calendar for at least nine years and each year I think the kittens are cuter. Has anyone ever seen an ugly kitten or puppy? I highly recommend this calendar for anyone who needs a bright spot everyday.
