Invertebrates Books

I'm about to start a PhD in this field, and this is a great book to give me a headstart on the history and future of biological control

Awesome Biology Text book. Very well packaged. New Text.

This is an excellent book that belongs on the self of anyone who wants to be considered up-to-speed on the critters that dwell in our waters. I've had the opportunity to use the annelid and the tardigrade keys thus far, and both worked wonderfully. The general information for all of the groups is well written and up-to-date, and the addition of color plates is a nice touch. Highly recommended!

This is an interesting text. The editor's attempted an ambitious "state of knowledge" effort for invertebrates. Since publication, invertebrate specialists have further sub-divided their efforts. This represents one of the last holistic efforts and is an excellent buy for those looking to augment a collection of invertebrate or eco-toxological literature.

This is a great hands on parsitology laboratory manual, with many details, and many experiments to choose from an instructional point of view.

I used this book as a start for my undergraduate research project on orientation in jumping spiders. It was very helpful and gives a good over view of behavior basics and specifically invertebrates.

Meg Strathmann (and her colleagues) put together a wonderful reference book that is a must-have item for anyone doing work on the reproductive biology or larval biology of marine invertebrate animals along the Pacific coast of the North America. This book is also a great source of reference material for invertebrate biologists anywhere in the world.

This book includes information about methods, and hints about culturing and maintaining marine invertebrate larvae. It also contains published or unpublished (but documented) observations on the reproduction and development of marine invertebrates of the northern Pacific coast.

The book is divided into chapters devoted to different invertebrate phyla, including methods for culturing their larvae, as well as information on the timing of spawning and development of as many Pacific NW species as have been studied.

The book, published in 1987, is now approaching its 15th year in publication. Even though some parts of it are slowing slipping out of date, this book remains the best reference book on this topic.

Well-organized, well-written introductory text to Entomology is more than your basic textbook. Includes a logical progression of information, as well as critical taxonomy keys, this is one of the best science text books I've ever seen. This book is sure to be a foundation that even graduate students will refer back to again and again.
