One can not help to understand the overriding theme throughout the book, that animals too possess intellect and emotion, that man is part of the animal world and that without a world-wide shift in our attitude & treatment of these magnificent creatures, their way of life and ours will be irrevocably changed for the worse.

Mr. Chaikin proves to be an efficient and talented writer. The story and plot are richly constructed, which make for an enjoyable read. The concept is so fresh and exciting that it appeals to both animal lovers and sports fans alike. Of course, there also exist many classic good versus evil conflicts. The book teaches us to be aware of our surroundings and appreciate what is important to us.

I personally would recommend this book to my children, my parents and everyone in between.
