This is a true solutions manual. This manual will show the student how to work all of the problems in the book. For the first time in my college life I can do my homework without that empty feeling in my stomach that I might be doing it wrong. If you have the McMurray Chemistry book and your teacher doesnt want you to call them at 11:00pm when you cant figure out a problem, this book is a must!

Our high school Chemistry II class uses this book and I find it be well written. Each chapter builds on the previous for the most part, and basic concepts are review and expanded on. My only complaints would be that sometimes rather uselss information is included and the book would start explaining a topic and say, " it would be impractical to elaborate more since it is beyond the scope of this book." The book is orall well organized and explained. Great for reference.

The first three reviews are this textbook are just out-of-left-field questions; how can you give the text 1 star without ever reading it? I used this book all this year for AP Chem, I thought it was very good. The book was able to clearly explain the subject manner, with few exceptions.

This was the assigned textbook for my college General Chem Class. I was absolutely dreading the course, but the book (and the professor) made it so much easier...I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good General Chem book!

This is a great study guide for the NYS Regents exam. It reviews each topic in detail along with review questions. The only complaint I have about it is that it didn't come with an answer key, which has to be purchased seperatly and is hard to find. Otherwise, it is a great course review and I would greatly recommend it.

I bought this book after having some trouble with my college level texts, and found this one to be very close to what I was looking for. It doesn't just give you one example of how to work a problem, it gives a few, each having detailed steps. It also gives examples of simple problems, and then works its way up to more complex problems. It seems the Chemistry texts today require you to buy supplemental books, but this text has it all inside the covers. I used it supplementally when I was having trouble with my college text, but it would work great for highschoolers, or even a self-study.

I have been a practicing research chemist for forty-five years and have also taught chemistry at several colleges. Chemistry: A Conceptual Approach is by far the finest introductory chemistry text I have ever encountered. As its title implies it presents -- in a highly-readable and understandable style -- the fundamental concepts of chemistry as well as the facts of chemistry. Although it is nominally a freshman chemistry text it is so well written and so comprehensive that it serves as an excellent reference work. In fact, although I have dozens of chemistry books in my personal collection, this is the book to which I usually turn first when looking up some chemical concept or fact. One could gain a good understanding of chemistry simply by reading this excellent book.

The title of the book is the best description in itself.
Very useful for chemistry teachers of all grades (secondary school, high school and even university) in order to motivate the teaching and learning of this science.
