I hated chemistry in Highschool and College. Later, when I needed to learn more about this subject this is the book I picked. Simply put, the best text on Chemistry I have ever seen, have read it twice and constantly refer to it!

When I was in my early twenties, I was working in a dead-end job with little possibility of advancement. After deciding to go to college, I realized that my financial resources were too limited to complete a degree in any reasonable length of time. Therefore, I investigated the opportunity to earn credit via College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests. When I discovered that there was a test on algebra and analytic geometry, I purchased this book and used it for study. I had taken the material in high school, but felt that a refresher was needed.
The problems were all easy to understand and the worked solutions made it possible for me to overcome all of the difficulties and uncertainties that I encountered. I then took the CLEP exam and passed it with a score much higher than needed to get the college credit. I strongly recommend this book for any program of self-study or refreshing of material learned earlier but growing dim.

This is the book if you work in the analytical lab of pharmaceutical industry. The book covers a lot of practical and day to day problems faced by persons working in the analytical lab especially from a regulatory point of view. Different chapters have been written by area experts making it very useful and comprehensive. I strongly recommend this book.

For those who have an interest in these four transient elements, this book is for you! Nowhere else have I found a resource as complete as this. Everything you would ever want to know about Tc, Pm, Fr and At is here, from elemental history to isotopes to extraction processes. If you are new to chemistry or just want to browse, the first parts of each of the four chapters are for you. If you are an experienced chemist - read the rest! Although published in 1970, the bulk of info is unchanged. More isotopes have since been discovered, and half-lives that were queried at the time have been resolved. That aside, this is a great book for looking into these most elusive of the natural elemnts ... francium is, in fact, the least unstable (max half-life of 22 mins) of the first 101 elements!

Warning . . . books like this tend to go out of print (OOP).
