I loved the story! It got me into the feeling of being in a pep rally like I used to back when I was Rose's age. Rose has always been one of my favorite characters and I appreciate this story. It's a really good read for all ages. I think the storyline is very interesting as she gets into an argument with one of the MAC because she was goofing around. But when she goes through the mirror, her team is kind of like what she was like and goofs around during practice. The team has never won a game or taken soccor very seriously. But Rose is serious about the game. She learns to be serious. This is a very good book that I recommend to anyone who dosen't take anything seriously. That person would be me! :)

In spite of all the "advances" we've made as humanity continues, one of the greatest tragedies of all time continues to thrive in twenty-first century Earth. This book brings to light this tender subject and reveals its profound effect on us.

Christian Cartoons, 1922

Rev. E. J. Pace, D.D. originally drew these beautiful single panel editorial cartoons (many of which are more in the realm of classic pen-and-ink illustration than 'cartooning' per se) for THE SUNDAY SCHOOL TIMES between 1916-1922. He continued to draw for the TIMES until his death in 1946 (THE SUNDAY SCHOOL TIMES, along with MOODY MONTHLY magazine, was the most prominent Christian journal of the early 20th century).
Dr. Pace's artwork very favorably compares with his secular contemporaries Charles Dana Gibson, Franklin Booth, and Winsor McCay, and the messages of his drawings reveal keen insights into the Scriptures and their application into the lives of Christians and non-believers alike.
Pace had been a missionary to the Philippines from 1905-1915, and was the Director of the Missionary Course at the Moody Bible Institute from 1917-1921. In his latter years he traveled the world as a Bible teacher, often using his drawings in support of his messages.
This book, along with LIFE BEGINS AT..., is a seminal showcase for Dr. Pace's work.

A comprehensive volume on Judith Leibowtiz's teaching

Reading this book brought me back to my Alexander teacher training classes with Judith Leibowitz, in vivid detail. Kathryn Miranda has captured the narrative Judith provided as she conveyed the subtleties of the Alexander Technique through her highly skilled hands-on work. This book offers teachers the opportunity to hear Judy's wisdom and the clarity with which she communicated the concepts of the Alexander Technique, the art of teaching, and the use of the hands.

This book is great. It is almost sad, almost. There is this girl named Mary who does this paper on dream flight or dream spinning.Mary disides to try this. She goes back like a hunderd years and becomes some one of the time. at first it is only when she wants to but then it becomes almost a uncontrolible thing.

If you're looking for a way to sneak Spanish words into kids, try this whole series. My older boy loves dinosaurs, so it's nothing to have this book lying around for him to pick up. Spanish and English have enough similarities that dinosaurs and dinosaurios are readily remembered.
I have always had one tiny problem with the whole series, including the English. There are two text lines. There's the story and then there's the set of dialogue in the pictures. You seem to need to read both sets to get the full story, but it's hard to do read-aloud with these books. Having said that, the books are great for kids to flip through and the science is good.
I like the series. I love it in Spanish. Use it to help your kids with a second language.

A right on look at race, culture, and their fluidity

This book points solidily to how race is not a static or predictable construct. Yon demonstrates that how these students construct their identification is juxtaposed to how they conceptualize their social context, which includes their home and school conceptualization of what is their identification. I highly recommend this book for those seeking to understand the social and emotional turmoil adolescents content with around their racial/ethnic identification while simultaneously defining their academic path and occupational goal.

A second strength is the ongoing acknowledgment that a sense of control is essential to a worker's happiness. Any of the styles can feel like a trap if a worker is forced into either too much separation or integration. "Captives," who are forced to separate work and personal lives, are portrayed as the most conflicted, stressed, and unhappy workers (a conclusion borne out by work-life research).
It's the age of flexible jobs, a trend sure to continue into the future, and I love that "CEO of Me" talks about this development applying to men and women, parents and single people. Many suggestions for individual action and workplace advocacy come together to create a very strong book.
