A game this intricate sometimes needs a little help (in case you get stuck). The photos of the scenes on the monitor are small, black & white and sometimes a little too dark. The print is small. The price is definitely for the information. It is more cost effective to buy the guide as a set with the game software.

This guide has everything in it from clues to pictures, but NOT the ENDING, that's right everyone! Our friends at Her Interactive does us a big favor by NOT giving away the ending so that We can figure out that part on our own! So I give this guide a Big Thumbs Up!

I loved this book. I had to rate this 5 stars. In this book Nancy and her friends are excited when Bob Steller an astronomer comes to do stargazing shows. But when he doesn't know information about astonomy it leads Nancy and her friends in a world of mix-up they never would've suspected.

Once again, Nancy Drew has prevailed in a brethtaking mystery where every chapter ends in suspense. When a famous astronamer disappears, Nancy has to find him. But when he finally shows up, she has to figure out whether it's really him, or just an illusion! Starstruck by a celebrity couple, Bess isn't much help, and Nancy has to solve this one on her own! A breathtaking mystery that will keep readers on their toes, I would not recommend this book to read at night if you have a test in school the next day. This book is so good, no one who picks it up will be able to put it down until they finish it!

Captures your attention

I used to be a big-time reader of Nancy Drew. Now, I occasionally go back and reread or read new Nancy Drew books. When I read this one, it was the first time I had ever read it. It captures your attention, and you won't be able to put it down or stop turning pages. The endings of the chapters are suspenseful, and you'll want to read the next chapter to see what happens. Although it sometimes seemed like there was way too much going on at the same time, making just a little hard to read and understand, I found the characters to be realistic, although I had a few questions after finishing. I won't say because it will give everything away.

One of Nancy's best friends, Bess Marvin, has just acquired Casey, a young golden retriever that she is training to be a guide dog. She got her at Candlelight Inn, an old, slightly spooky inn that was donated to the Guiding Eyes by Emmaline Whitby, a blind woman. Her granddaughter, Marisa, is currently Devon Marshall, Bess's neighbor's, girlfriend. Even though Marisa is blind and uses a guide dog, she is still friendly and finds ways to get around using Misty, Marisa's golden retriever guide dog. But there's also mystery around their hometown of River Heights.

Counterfeit money is being passed around Nancy, Bess, and George's town of River Heights, and the three best friends are shocked to find out that Eric Pavlik, one of Marisa's friends, was caught passing a counterfeit bill, which mysteriously is dated to twenty-five years ago---back when there was another counterfeiting ring. Standing up for Eric along with her friends, Bess is almost arrested when she hands in a dollar bill, as Casey ate one, and the bill turns out to be counterfeit. Even worse, the bill is Marisa's. Marisa and Nancy have been receiving multiple threats to stop, too. But Nancy won't give up a case!

Suspenseful and fun.

This book had a very eerie suspence that was kept through out the whole book. The conclusion was quite a surprise. It had a very laid back atmosphere that was comforting and interesting at the same time. The book gave you a lot of clues and it was realy exciting to discover the conclusion. It was a real mystery that kept the readers interest through the whole thing.

The Book is pretty good. It is the second Nacy Drew Book that I have read. It is a really good mystery. It takes a while to get into it though. So just keep reading and it will adventually get better. The book is very "twisty" though. You will on one subject then it will jump to another then another. But you just need to make sure that you understand everything or eltes you will be allmixed up

The big snow festival is on in River Heights, and Nancy, Bess and George are going to create the most fantastic snow sculptures in a big competition. After discussing lots of ideas, they decide on a theme of Swan Lake. It sure was their own original plan, but they've been accused of stealing it!

Now their best efforts are being trashed every night, and it seems like they'll never be able to complete their entry in time for the judging.

It's time for Nancy Drew to get out her trusty blue notebook and examine every clue before all is lost.

The Snowman Surprise is a fun read for young mystery fans, and is sure to stimulate further adventures in literature.

It wasn't surprising that this book started off with Nancy and her friends going somewhere to relax and have fun. Nor was it surprising that Nancy stumbled on to a mystery. What was surprising though, was how the auther manage to work a mystery into a Baseball Game. I still get amazed at how Nancy Drew figures out all these complicated problems and still saves the day. This time it's to help a star pitcher find his little girl and still win a game. I've been reading Nancy Drew for over 9 years now and I think that this one was one of the best!

Troubled Waters by Carolyn Keene is the newest book in the Nancy Drew: Girl Detective series. Growing up reading Nancy Drew mysteries, this book had a lot to live up to. Carolyn Keene has constructed a mystery novel that is modern and full of suspense to engage today's young readers. She has totally lived up to this veteran reader's expectations.

Nancy and her friends set out to help their town recover from devastating flood damage. While reading, I immediately thought of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Although the events in the town of River Heights were not nearly as catastrophic as the events following Katrina, Keene used her natural ability to encourage the reader to question the events unfolding in the book and draw and revise conclusions throughout this small town ordeal. While remodeling an abandoned building with a team similar to that seen on today's show Extreme Home Makeover, many strange events occur. Most of the trouble is centered on J.C. Valdez, a star basketball player lending his time and talents to help those in need. Is someone out to sabotage his career and reputation or is someone interested in halting the building of hundreds of apartments for those left homeless by the flood? Read Troubled Waters by Carolyn Keene to find out.

Nancy Drew investigates a crime at Emerson Colleague. It is top secret so she can't even tell Ned! While investigating in her own mystery Ned finds another one for her sluething techniques. It involves POE a group of students that intend to have good causes but Ned thinks there up to no good. As the mystery is coming to a close Nancy gets a threating call that says for Nancy to drop the case and if she doesn't she'll never see Ned again. Find out what happens when you read it. In my opinion I think it was a good book, not enough romance though. R.B age 12

a quick read that is a whimsical spoof of a much beloved classic character. After reading some of the reviews I was afraid I might find it offensive, but I bought it anyway and I'm glad I did. I thought it was funny and lighthearted, and realy enjoyed the way other youth detective classics were referred to in various situations. The illustrations were very funny as they look very similar to the originals but had captions from the text. The only thing I wished that was different about this book is that is was longer. I find it a delightful read if you just want to relax and laugh to yourself for a few minutes.

If you are looking for a more serious hommage to Nancy, try Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her. That book is rich with details about her and is a nice, comprehensive account of the girl detective that was an important part of countless childhoods.

I checked this out of the library, and I'm glad I did -- I wouldn't want it taking up space on my bookshelf. It's pretty funny for the first few chapters, but "pretty funny" seems to be the best Cain can offer here. After the first few chapters, there's nothing new and very little that's at all amusing.

The jokes here are tired and old, and Cain does nothing to follow them up with actual story. The funniest part of the book, the concept that Carolyn Keene was Nancy's real-life college roommate who stole her adventures and then mischaracterized them in fiction, goes nowhere. When I started this book, I wanted to read about Nancy confronting her fictional self, her interactions with Carolyn, anything about that. Aside from one preachy chapter near the end and a failed conversation between the two, the most promising idea in the book is wasted.

By the end of this book, I was thoroughly sick of Nancy Drew -- something that never happened when I read the originals.

This light, short Nancy Drew parody takes Nancy from the 1920s to old age, with timely adventures for her in each chapter including Rudy Vallee-type college pranks and Cold War escapades. The joking criticisms of always-perfect Nancy are right on target; they may be too repetitive, but then humor at this length is hard to sustain. I can't give away the jokes; you'll have to read them for yourself. Also features Cherry Ames, the Hardy Boys, et al., as characters. Highly recommended for fans of the old series (I first read the books 50 years ago).

Hilarious!

I haven't laughed so much at a book in a long time. This was a hilarious parody of the Nancy Drew series - I loved everything from the chain smoking Hannah Gruen to the anorexic Bess - just hilarious. If you were a Nancy Drew fan as a kid, you have to read this book.

Chelsea Cain's Confessions of a Teen Sleuth purports to be the posthumously published memoirs of titian-haired teen sleuth Nancy Drew. Nancy wrote the book to correct some popular misconceptions about herself: it seems that Carolyn Keene, Nancy's college roommate-turned-unauthorized biographer, played fast and loose with the facts. Nancy records a different adventure from her life in each of the book's ten chapters. We watch her age--while remaining stylish--against a backdrop of 20th-century history, from internment camps to the Red Scare to hippies and feminists. Along the way we learn some shocking information about Nancy's mother and about the Drew's long-time housekeeper Hannah Gruen, as well as about Nancy herself (hint: the book is dedicated to Frank Hardy, the elder Hardy boy).

Cain writes in the earnest style of the series, with endearingly outdated lingo. And her characters never just say anything: they cry gaily and explain mechanically and muse fretfully. Nancy, meanwhile, though no saint (her early parenting is more reminiscent of Britney Spears than June Cleaver) remains naive enough that her juxtaposition with the real world is amusingly jarring:

"When my plane landed in San Francisco, I collected my old blue suitcase and got in line for a shuttle bus. As you may be aware, at that time San Francisco was a great gathering place for young people from all over the country. These young people grew their hair long and wore untailored, unironed clothing. While I had briefly encountered bohemian types shoplifting at Burk's, I was looking forward to experiencing the counterculture firsthand. I had stood in line only a few minutes when I was approached by one of its representatives."

Nancy still loves a good mystery--maybe a little too much--and she is wont to incorporate a bit of excitement into her otherwise humdrum, post-teen-sleuthing life whenever she can:

"'It seems as if you're avoiding your husband. You don't enjoy cooking. Or cleaning. You barely garden.'"

"'Oh, Hannah,' I smiled. 'That's silly. You're talking about last weekend. I couldn't go to Ned's office party. I had to rescue Ned Junior from the old well in the backyard.'"

"'But how did he get in the well?'"

"'I lowered him. We were playing 'rescue from the old well.''"

Cain plays with the fictional/real-life divide not only by breathing life into Nancy and other literary characters--the Hardy Boys and the Bobbsey Twins and Tom Swift all make appearances, for example. But she also makes Carolyn Keene, the fictional "author" of the Nancy Drew mysteries, a real but untrustworthy reporter. Nancy and Keene cross paths toward the end of the book, and in an interesting scene we see the line between fiction and fact further blurred.

You'd have to be well-steeped in Nancy Drew lore to appreciate all the in-jokes in Chelsea Cain's clever, charming parody. But even if you haven't read a Nancy Drew novel in decades--or at all--you'll enjoy the read.

Hey, now I know a lot of people were upset about Ned & Nancy's break-up, but the relationship between Michael & Nancy is just as good, if not better. I read tons of Nancy Drew books, from the original series, to the Files, & then to the Campus series. In the original series, Nancy & Ned are absolutely perfect for each other. There is no doubt to that. However, Nancy changes in the Campus series & it turns out that Ned & Nancy are better off as friends. I totally think that Michael & Nancy are made for each other in this series, but that's just my opinion.

Its the best

cancelling the series, because I heard the lady who wrote the first few Nancy Drew books recently died. Well any way this book was exellent and the series is quite popular.

I think this book is really stupid. I wish that Ned and Nancy would get back together. Plus, there is hardly any mystery, just romance. I'm not reading a Nancy Drew on Campus book until Nancy and Ned get back together. This definately Carolyn Keene's worst book. The series I liked was the Nancy Drew Mystery Series.
