2nd grade daugher loves the series

My 7 year old daughter (just finished 2nd grade) loves this series. She has read almost all of them (including the older "notebooks" editions) this summer. We don't know what we'll do for an encore when she's finished, as the regular Nancy Drew books are still a little long/ intimidating for her (each of these is only about 70 pages). She likes solving the mysteries, but also loves having the familiar characters in every book. We highly recommend them, and will give them as gifts to her friends in the near future.

This is another good book in the Nancy Drew series. Nancy, Bess, and George travel to Vermont so George can help her cousin with her website. They arrive in the middle of a UFO flap. Nancy, Bess, and George face some real danger while solving the real reasons for the UFO sightings. This is a good book for any Nancy Drew fans or anyone looking for a quick. fun read. Boys or adults should not ignore books like Nancy Drew. All of the books in this series (and the graphic novels) have been good reads.

The Clue of the Dancing Puppet
The Clue of the Dancing Puppet by Carolyn Keene is 177 pages long and was published by Grosset & Dunlap in 1962. This is a mystery novel filled with much suspense. The main characters are Nancy, Bess, George, Emmet Calhoun, Mr. Spencer, Tammi Whitlock, and more. This book is about a girl in her late teens that solves mysteries because that's what she likes to do.
Most of the book takes place in a mansion where there is a theater outback where the Footlighters perform their plays. There has been much suspicion around the Mansion because there is a puppet that jerkishly dances across the front lawn at night, but no one can ever catch it. Nancy lives in the town of River Heights originally, but has to travel whenever she is in need to solve a mystery. George is Nancy's best friend; Bess is George's cousin, and also a friend of Nancy's. Nancy is the protagonist of the story. You'll have to read the story to find out who the antagonist is. The antagonist is the person who is guilty of being the culprit behind the mystery. Carolyn Keene made this novel how it is to see if you can figure out who it is that's behind the scheme of The Clue of the Dancing Puppet. A strength of this book is that it's such a good book that you'll always want to keep reading, and that certain parts of the book make it fun to read.
I think the book was good because it is suspenseful and you never know what might happen next. Don't doze off while reading the book; otherwise you might miss out on important stuff that could help you solve the mystery yourself!
I highly recommend this book. This is because you can never get bored from reading Nancy Drew mystery novels, unlike other books where you can fall asleep easily.

Carolyn Keene has really come up with a tremendously satisfying read for young girls who, of course, love a good mystery.
The setting, characters and action are just so much fun. Everyone loves a carnival, but when somebody is trying to ruin it, the suspects, clues and naughty tricks begin to pile up! I'm sure the vision of a potato sack race sabotaged by putting raw eggs at the bottom of the sacks will give young readers quite a few chuckles as the kids discover slime all over their feet!
The Crazy Carnival Case also boasts a jealous gossip, quite an annoying boy named Oscar and a pie-eating champion named "Cruncher." Carolyn Keene's fans will most certainly adore this book -- definitely a keeper to be read again and again!

There's some great excitement going on in River Heights. The lady who owns Nancy Drew's favorite shop, The Book Nook, has a famous father who's coming to town to read from his new novel. And Mr. Sandback happens to be Nancy's favorite mystery writer!
Nancy is going to need her trusty blue notebook to start jotting down the ever-growing list of suspects and clues, because a very valuable book has gone missing -- it's a rare copy of Morton Sandback's very first book. Because Foul Up At The Floss Factory is a graphic novel and a collector's item, there are lots of people who would want it. But who would be mean enough to steal a rare first edition and ruin a great surprise for the author?
With Nancy on the case, you know that she'll find The Crook Who Took the Book before you turn the last page!

WOW, what an awesome book. This mystery was full of atmosphere and great scenes (very scary). The overall plot is very strong and felt like a very traditional Nancy Drew story. The writing was above par, and I would recommend this kids and adults. This felt like a very traditional story in an updated format. More like this, please!

It's a good book 'caus it's not like most books were nancy has to solve a murder or burglary. and it involves circus life. i love the part were nancy gets traped in a tiger cage and Richard has to come and save her. and the ending is quite cool. so if you haven't read this book. buy it and read it 'caus it's awsome!

Even America's top kid detective can be annoyed by pesky boys in her third-grade class. Wouldn't you like to get some pests off your case?
When these annoying boys make Nancy Drew an offer to finally leave her Bess and George alone, she had to accept. All she had to do was solve a mystery -- something right up her alley!
All she has to do is prove that a gigantic footprint found on the grounds of her elementary school was left behind by a dinosaur. Nancy sure doesn't buy that story, but she sure wants the pests to leave her alone.
The mystery deepens when a footprint is found in Nancy's own yard! What is a skilled detective to do?
Carolyn Keene has presented yet another super mystery for her young readers to love -- and come running back for more!
