what a waste of money. nothing new and exciting in this little mini book..not worth the money or hassle it took to get it.

This book is jam-packed with helpful brownie-making tips as well as 50 variations of brownies and blondies! Being a lover of anything chocolate, I set out to try the recipe entitled "Sensationally Chewy Brownies" (pg.34), wondering if I'd really get chewy ones. I was happily surprised! The recipe was very easy to follow, quick to make, and incredibly addictive! I give this 'short but sweet' cookbook a two thumbs up and recommend it to everyone! Hint: This would make a great gift to a fellow chocoholic!

This was one of may favorite books as a child. The book is about three naughty brownies, who are sent to find their goodness from an unknown land as a punishment for one of their naughty deeds. It gives a description of all the adventures they have on their way and how ultimately they are able to find their goodness. It is written in the characterstic simple style of Enid Blyton and anyone who loves her books (especially the fantasy genre) will love it

I remember this book from my childhood! I was nine years old and received it for my birthday. It was one of the first 'chapter books' I read, and after its completion I was hooked on reading forever!

Thank you so much for writing this book! My kids love the illustrations and the story. It is such an inspiring story, filled with hope for the kids, and good lessons too! Even us adults can benefit! I also really enjoyed reading about the family that wrote and illustrated the book. What a story! I'm so glad that they were inspired to complete the book, and I hope that many families and children can get a copy to spread the good word, and to fill their minds with good things!...

I admit that I have a sweet tooth and that I consider myself a brownie afficionado. Over the years I've collected dozens of recipes and I have my favorites. So I approached Liz Franklin's "Brownies and Bars" with some skepticism. I first tried three of the brownie recipes - "Cherry, Chocolate and Kahl?a Brownies," "Cardamom and Orange Brownies," and the "Orange Marmalade and Chestnut Brownies," and they turned out perfect! Then I turned my attention to the non-brownie recipes: they are creative and diverse-- and the two others that I tried were just as good as the brownie recipes. Their directions were easy to follow; the photography was helpful and beautiful. Can't wait to try more recipes.

This cookbook has really provided me with a lot of happy cooking hours and tasty results. I'm a casual cook, but these recipes are easy to make and very, very good! My son is greatly enjoying some Coconut Blondies as I write, one of the many great Blondies in this book. I have found Blondie recipes harder to find than Brownie ones, so it's great there are so many here! Worth trying to find.

I bought this from a bargain bin years ago. It was one of those rare finds that I turn to again and again. In fact, whenever I want a cookie with chocolate in it, I turn to this book before any other. When I make cookies from this book, people invariably ask me for the recipes.

There are easy cookies in here as well as fancier ones. There is a section on monster cookies which contains several varations on the perennial favorite, the chocolate chip cookie. In other sections there are also delicate chocolate ravioli cookies, tri-colored neapolitan cookies, tassies (which are small tarlets), spritz cookies, sandwich cookies, you name it.

Fortunately the binding is good so the book has withstood the 10 years of heavy use I've subjected it to. Also, the book is oversized (tall and thin) which I like. Whole recipes are on one page that way. What a great book.
