I bought this for my parents as they had recently moved from California to Conn. They love this book as it has allowed them to find some great bedroom communities nearby.
A true review would be from someone who knows the area, but for outsiders this was a great purchase.

2004 saw the release of the 4th edition of Connecticut Foreclosures, Caron and Milne, which added chapters on the secondary mortgage market, including MERS, the federal truth in lending act, and new developments in Connecticut Foreclosure law.

If you're interested in this sort of thing as I am this book could be of great value however the price is unreal. I have a CD that does much the same for the entire country at a third the price of one state however this book is MUCH more accurate and shows county boundaries that only occured for as little as three days. The CD is also easier to use. That said I'll likely ask for the book as one of those Christmas presents I wouldn't buy for myself.

While the text is pretty good and the historic pictures are fine, there should have been more contemporary photos to show the Connecticut River Valley Today and how people are using the barns today.

This is a nice-looking and readable edition of Twain's classic story. The pages are thick and soft, so I found them very easy to turn. The cover is a dark blue-green, with gilt lettering and a simple design on the spine.
The drawbacks are that because the paper is very absorbent, the print from the other side of the page has bled through in a few places (this might not be the situation for all copies of this book); also, this is one of a set of Mark Twain books, and has "VOL. 4" stamped on the spine.

If you look very carefully at the picture of the cover near the knight's helmet you can just barely make out in white letters the word "ABRIDGED".

This means you are not going to the full text of the Mark Twain yarn.

It is actually pretty hard to find an unabridged audiobook version of Connecticut Yankee.

I'd forgotten what a sort of bleak story A Conneticut Yankee is. Needless to say, this little illustrated version of it reminded me very well. It's been so long since I read the source material that I can't really say how accurate this volume is. However, I do remember everything that was in this happening and it was told very well. I was really amused by the Mark Twain illustrations in the begining--as I had forgotten this was a framed narrative.

Very enjoyable--I love these illustrations, I just wish I knew who the illustrator was.

In this version the Connecticut Yankee is an engineer who just graduated from college. He loves to experiment with mechanical devices and when one experiment goes badly, is knocked unconscious. He awakes to find himself in the Court of King Arthur and proceeds to get himself into all sorts of predicaments when he tries to bring T.V., radio, air travel, and football into their world. Production notes are included. I recommend this play for middle school students as an entertaining way to enrich the study of the literature of Mark Twain.
