Since I first stumbled across this book at Halloween when my daughter was 5, we have gotten it out of the library as a Halloween tradition every year. It's been 4 years now, and I don't think we'll be losing interest any Halloween in the next few years!

It's a bit truly scary, and absolutely hilarious! We love it.

This book is hilarious and so much fun to read to your children. It is cleverly written and beautifully illustrated. The story starts off with the three bears getting dressed up to go trick or treating. They visit several of their animal friends before stumbling upon a cottage with a door that is left open. They enter the house, eat the snacks, break a chair, and hide in the bed, only to be scared off when the "witch" that is following them is Goldilocks dressed up for Halloween. Absolutely adorable, my boys loved it!

A Special "Toby" Book

This is a very special book in this series of adventures about a cute little mouse. It's part of a board book set, rather than the picture book set. It's not as long as some of the others and it's a bit simpler, but it's still a nice tale.

This book is about Toby dressing up and then going trick-or-treating for Halloween. The back of the book explains the rationale behind it --- that young children like Halloween, but may be frightened by monsters. So this cute little story provides a nice alternative.

The illustrations are as nice as ever and the story is perfect. Great book.

This book is a childrens' picture book about a rabbit who gets too greedy at Halloween. He loves chocolate so much that he finds a sneaky way to steal his friends' candy. When they find out what he's doing, they form a plan to get revenge. Very cute!! Your kids will love it. The author wrote this book when she was 17, and it was published when she was 19 after she won a young author contest. Very cool!

NEVER TOO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS

The "Traditions of Christmas" isn't a holiday craft project book, nor is it a holiday cookbook, although there are some recipes in it. No, this is a fond look at Christmas traditions around the country produced by the editors of Victoria Magazine. It's a look at families gathered by the hearth, snow covered churches, and dazzling Christmas displays, all which makes one wax poetically about that perfect Christmas that we all strive for. Featuring brilliant full-color photography and accompanied by thoughts or verses by notable writers, "The Traditions of Christmas" is a wonderful complement to that favorite time of the year.

Visit the historical churches of Connecticut, elegantly decorated in traditional green wreaths and red bows as the sights, smells, and sounds of the holiday season are described majestically. Head from the country to the city to gaze in awe at the lavish window displays in the Lord & Taylor store in New York City. This particular display recreates the Washington Irving's view of Tarrytown in the early 1800's.

The ambience of a New England Christmas is captured in all its glory at the Vermont home of beloved children's book Illustrator Tasha Tudor. Tudor and her family gather to celebrate the season in grand old style with homemade gifts, stories, and Christmas Carols. From Vermont you head east to the Great Lake State and the famous Victorian Inn of Union City Michigan. There you will partake in a true Victorian holiday feast in their restored, period dining room, consisting of cheddar soup, roast goose, chestnut stuffing, and rum butter plum pudding.

The book also features a number of authentic Victorian recipes. If a visit to all of these wonderful places (and more), doesn't get you into the mood for a white Christmas then nothing will! Beautiful color photography adorns the 144 pages. It's 85 degrees outside right now, but I'm ready for Christmas!

I enjoyed reading this book because it was fun and easy to understand. The pictures were cool and neatly done. I hope what you consider reading this book and enjoy it like I did. If you like Halloween, you will love this book.

This story kind of reminded me of when I went trick or treating. It was when I was younger and thought that it was awesome to get all that candy in one night. If you read the story, maybe it will remind you of when you were little and went out for candy.

My daughter screamed with laughter every time we read this beautifully illustrated book. She loved to repeat the lines over and over, rhythmic phrases like "Five leaves crackle, five witches cackle." It was a great Halloween book, as well as a terrific way to learn to count.
