America Was Born of God

This booklet, by Dr. Andrus and Chris Esseltine, discusses the basic belief deeply held by many Americans that the United States of America and its founders were influenced religiously and philosophically by God. This paper establishes through scholarly research the vital religio-spiritual elements responsible for the rise of Western Civilization, the development of liberty in modern times, and the origins and birth of American society and government. This paper is not the actual presentation the authors gave in 1996 in the home of Utah State Senator Howard Stephenson, but it is a supplemental companion to that work. It traces the line of liberty from the New Testament to modern times.

Rare comedy

This book is simply hilarious. I read this book fifteen years ago in tropical Africa and I am yet to get over it. Clarence Day Jr. tells the story of his father in a very imaginative and hilarious manner. The peculiar genius of this book is how the author managed to present the character of his extraordinary subject in such an ordinary manner.

After reading this book one has the sense of haven paid a visit to the Day family, rather than haven read a well written book about them. It is this rare quality of reality about the book that makes it my best comedy of all times.

This was a great Father's day gift, especially for those who like "Little Critter" books.
A fun book to read with dad, on his day, and for the whole family to enjoy. It has become a favorite and we recall the day when we first read it, and how much we enjoyed it then.
We would recommend it to anyone who enjoys kid books!

A father's trip to a ballgame. Humor is attempted through misunderstandings of typical baseball culture. A line from the Star Spangled Banner becomes "land of the fleas, home of the brains." The youngest children go in search of a playground after hearing "batter swings." Contains excellent color illustrations and will be of interest to the K through 3rd grade levels.

simple yet effective & happy - the boys do the housework!
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2004-11-27
In this small hard book (board book they call them) which is pretty close to indestructable - always a good thing with tiny tots, there are 14 delightful illustrations (including the front and back, as these are original and not showcased elsewhere in the book).

It shows Dad & son going through a day doing the chores and having fun as they go.

The illustrations are simple yet effective & happy. The duo are laughing througout, as they toss toys into the toy box to clean up, wipe down messes, vacumn each others feet and daddy scrubs the dishes whilst boy washes colander.

Daddy stacks the plates whilst boy brings the plastic bowls, they sweep up the fallen plant, and clean the bathroom (boy incredibly effective as we know they are, but having fun).

Polishing the shoes, putting on the laundry pegging out the clothes and ironing and at the end of the day (and back of the book) cheers over a glass of orange juice and a days work well done.

It's a wonderful book for babies up to 4-or even 5.

One of the things which appeals to me so strongly in the book is keeping the boy occupied happily helping (but not in the way) as you go through the household chores.

And of course I'm hoping MY husband will get the hint!!

What a wonderful fun and great little book. My son gets engrossed in it, pouring over every little detail and exclaiming with glee - Look! The boys helping! Look he's doing the dishes etc etc

It's also great value for money, as being hardbacked, it's going to last through more than one.
Fantastic book your kids will love it.

I gave this book to my father for father's day. It tells the charming story of a young girl and the relationship she has with her father. She wants to spend Father's Day with her Dad doing all the things he loves. Instead they do the things she loves to do and like every good Dad he goes along and pretends they are his favorite things too. It seems like he's thinking, "without her I wouldn't be celebrating this day". Any father would love to read this book to his child and cherish it as a gift.

I bought this book for my husband and he loved it. He read it over the first weekend he had it. I have seen him open it several times since then. I have read parts of it and it is very funny and informative. It is written for guys, but I really enjoyed it myself. I think any new parent could benefit from it. The hints and advice are clear and easy to understand. This book and Be Prepared are the best dad books I have seen. They both combine humor and being helpful.
