Classic WesternReview Date: 1999-11-03
Bravery, cowardice, pathos it's all here. One of my prized posessions is a picture of me by Luther S. " Yellowstone " Kelly's grave above Billings, Montana.
Will Henry/Clay Fisher is far better, than the more popular Louis L'Amour, at evoking a real sense of place, time and history.
"The Little Man With The Strong Heart"Review Date: 2005-04-19
Prior to entering the military in the late 1950s I saw a movie entitled "Yellowstone Kelly." I thought it very good, especially with ole Clint 'Cheyenne' Walker in the lead role. A Warner Brothers extravaganza of the Sioux Wars with John Russell playing the Hunkpapa war leader, Gall.
Later as I began to read westerns I learned that Luther Sage "Yellowstone" Kelly was a real person, and that he actually did accomplish stupendous things out west. So much so that the Sioux not only feared him, but gave him the name "The Little Man With The Strong Heart." In this novel from Clay Fisher/Will Henry he is also known as "Man Who Never Lays Down His Gun."
He did all this while serving as an Army scout for General George Crook in Crook's far-flung Department of the Platte. Some of his fellow scouts were said to have commented that Kelly could smell an Indian in the dark, better than they could see one in the light of day. In his days of Army service he very much helped write the history of the Yellowstone Valley.
This novel based on events from Luther Sage Kelly's life by Clay Fisher was published in hardcover in 1957. In and out-of-print since then, it has more recently been reprinted using Will Henry as author. They were both one and the same author. No matter how they print it or to whom they give credit as author, this is one wonderful saga from the mists of those far gone times.
Do yourself a favor, and spend a couple nights reading this. Your time spent with Luther Sage Kelly, or Yellowstone Kelly will not wasted.

Gorgeous book and great projects!Review Date: 2003-06-01
Starts with basic polymer stuff, then basic info on assembling and finishing a mosaic, then on to specific patterns. I love the section on pietre dure the best - they remind me of the very beautiful examples I saw in Italy.
One pattern (grapes & leaves) mimics the style and colors of the mosaics found in the ancient palaces in Rome - and the gold-leafed tesserae on the sconce project is right out of a Byzantine basilica. More modern-looking projects include a Celtic dragon barrette on a beautiful background and a "fossil" tile frame.
You can easily take any of these projects and substitute your own patterns and colors and even changing the size of the tesserae, making the design more or less complicated to suit your level of patience and available time. Some of the work is going to be painstaking and time-consuming, but for myself, I find that kind of work is very soothing sometimes.
The book is well-illustrated with lots of pictures to show the steps and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. Another excellent reference from a very prolific polymer clay author.

Lon Peterson loves working in the fields but he loves his family more. When Ginger comes home from town one afternoon and tells him about a little boy that had been abandoned in town several months before and shows him a picture that was in the paper, Lon knows the boy is Jesse, his sister Claire`s son.
Lon and Ginger go get Claire and find that she is waiting for Matt to come home and return her beloved son. They take her back to Paragould with them so she can claim her little boy, only to find out that three days before Matt had already claimed him.
Lon and Ginger start on a journey to find Jesse and bring him home to his mother. The couple find it is going to be harder to find Jesse than they thought.
Gloria Lewis has created a story of happiness, sadness, tragedy and love. The story is set in Paragould Arkansas in 1917. It is a truly wonderful story that will capture your heart. Grab a box of Kleenex curl up on the sofa and enjoy. I hope to see more work from this talented author.

Romance of the UnicornReview Date: 2005-09-17
A fantasy that kept me readingReview Date: 2005-09-02
Further, many fantasy stories do not mention beliefs of the afterlife,, Clay does this well. The characters believe in reincarnation, this belief is acted upon for problem solving in the story. Finally the story is romantic. Although Elayne was dumped by her boyfriend. Yet, a villain in the magical world echoes him, giving Elayne reason to get over him. Riding a unicorn, the hero rescues Elayne, starting a love affair. This is a very funny, intriguing, at times sad, and exciting story.
