All of Schubert's great chamber works are here except for the Trout Quintet. Of particular note are the Cello Quintet, the "Death and the Maiden" quartet and the "Rosamunde" a minor quartet. As with all of Dover's scores, a great price. At Amazon it's a better price even than buying it at the local music store with a teacher discount.

Defoe wrote this in the late 1700s, and it was revised in the early 1800s, with comical footnotes about how those antiquated business practices had now been modernized! Defoe was involved in various mercantile ventures, and wrote from hard earned experience, providing a bona fide textbook of business strategy and negotiating practices that is still very cogent today. I'd highly recommend this book to young people entering the business world, but alas it's out of print, and thus impractical to obtain.

Now HERE is a music guide for the masses. It's filled with interesting narratives about composers and compositions. Anyone can enjoy it no matter how much or how little musical education one might have. Tovey is quoted but in a friendly way. It seems to cover all the bases from C.P.E. Bach to Deems Taylor. Great fun and loads of useful information.

This book has it all, it is a crash course for anyone who ever wanted to know the basics of statistics, everyone in my school uses it, "A Consice Couse" to get an "A".

Invaluable record in understaning young Lawrence. Self-effacing and painful (at times) it required a great woman (and a very good writer) to open up such a gushing wound caused due to his mother's influence. "Sons and Lovers" simply cannot be understood without this real life remembrence (for those interested of course).
Lawrence and Jessie irrevocably split before he left England and headed to Germany: ther he would fall for the married mother of three. Jessie Chambers (aka Eunice Temple) married in 1915 (Lawrenze married Frieda in July 1914): she and Lawrence never saw each other again.
A heavy stone of death laid by Lawrence's manically possessive mother burdened both star-crossed friends and lovers to the very end: Lawrence's in 1930 and Jessie's in 1945.

My boys just love this story! They like to 'act out' or show us where all the parts of the car are while we read it. It really is alot of fun. My 5 year old is starting to read it for himself and his brother.
