If I had Known is an original story about a boy, Pete, who is on a journey to discover the purpose of life. The lessons learned by Pete unfold to the reader as the reader continues through the book. It is almost like the reader is on the journey alongside Pete, experiencing the same emotions and situations as the character.
The book helps readers recognize how they can be fulfilled. Most people no longer communicate with their intuitive self, which to me, is the source for organized thoughts/ideas to flow. The story is wonderful in helping people reconnect with certain parts of their selves they had lost. It inspires creativity in the business world and a motivation to carry out the unique ideas of each individual. It also acts as a guideline to restore peace in your personal lives and tranquility of the mind.
It is great to read before bed or to clear your mind before a particularly busy day. Its simple wisdom will stick with you and you will find yourself contemplating its ideas and maybe even expanding on them yourself.

At the time, this was an interesting final-chapter addition to the Watergate affair. But I bet these folks could have kicked themselves, much later, after reading "Silent Coup" and seeing that their prime witness was dirty from the ground up, involved in his own intrigues. If they'd only known then what they later learned...

This book presents an excellent survey of Berber crafts. That all of the drafts represented are done by women, is of special interest. The photos are beautiful, both of the women, and of their crafts. The text provides great insight into the history and meaning of the designs used. This book is a must for anyone interested in tribal arts and crafts.

Think 'imperialism' and economic and political exploitation come to mind - but very seldom is science's role considered. College-level audiences seeking references in science and political history will welcome IMPERIALISM AND SCIENCE, where a gathering of international experts analyze the connections between imperialism and scientific progress over two centuries. Its revelations and insights are important for understanding the paths, progress and international influences upon the scientific community as a whole, so college-level holdings shouldn't be without it.

In the Blood of the Greeks is quite a good story. It's a love story set during World War 2 about two women who are totally opposite in temperament and on opposite sides. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the shy Eva and the more outgoing Zoe. It's a love story, a history lesson and a story about hope and courage. I believe there is a sequel to this story coming out soon and I plan on buying that one as well!

The approach to assessment developed here is sophisticated, yet simple, warm, yet effective. It firmly roots assessment practices and outcomes within an existential phenomenological philosophy of the human being, which it makes clear and practical in a deceptively simple yet profound everyday language.

The subject of the book, Brooks Stevens, had an amazing career spanning decades. He lived in Milwaukee working for industrial giants but his influence spread far outside the Midwest. This book has wonderful essays, entries on specific design projects and great photos. The writing makes it interesting with anecdotal information and excerpts from Brooks Stevens.

This book offers exactly what western pyschology needs, diversity. Not one branch of any psychology is perfectly useful. What this book shows are the missing parts in western psychology, topics ranging from ayurveda, yoga, tai chi, buddhist techniques(non-religous)plus many other literature often misunderstood by western minds as well as unheard of but extremely useful facts of life largely neglected in psychology. This book shows psychologists/counselors/educators a way of joining together and keeping in mind all aspects of therapy while learning for him/herself the nature of human life. This book shows all readers exactly what's missing in the domain of psychology. 'Why it's missing' is another story, but 'what is being missed' this book gives a great overview of that. Being an integrative helper involves ceasing ignorance of other worlds' psychologies. Dr. Mikulas is a trustworthy source on these topics, he manages to describe these world psychologies without distortion or inflammation. His reference pages are exteremly thorough and useful. I recommend this book to all psychologists, or anyone interested in this topic or psychologies of the world. Let the book speak for itself.

If you encounter a friend, relative, or stranger with something on their mind, this book shows you the steps you can take to help that person find the solutions to their own problems, a skill we all have within us. I use the skills in this book as a psychology student, a parent, and someone in long-term relationships with family, friends, and loved ones. If you can't afford the new copy, find an old one. This book will improve how you connect with others tremendously!
