I received this book as a gift from a friend because he knows how much I love to golf. He also knows I collect golf balls. This book has interesting information about the evolution of the golf ball from its earlier forms through the transformation to what it looks like today.

On the back of this text it states "1,000,000 can't be wrong!" And after using this text for the past month I can see why, among the myriad of Abnormal Psych. texts available, this one is considered heads above all the others.

The authors write in a way that is accessable to undergraduates and/or graduate students (like myself)who are studying this subject matter for the first time. They go in depth on etiology, assessment, treatment, and prognosis on a myriad of DSM-IV-TR disorders.

Don't let the price scare you away. Text books are like anything else; you get what you pay for. Purchases such as this one are an investment in your career. Don't short-change yourself. Buy the best!

Industry standards are set by ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and a few others. This book provides guidelines for Health/Fitness Assessments at a professional level. A good book to keep on the shelf for reference or to brush up your memories.

I found this book to be an invaluable assest and reference text. As a resident needing a thorough reference at home for this text will be a welcome addition to my library (and the first place I head to late at night). It systematically breaks down each chapter into clear, clinically important areas so you can easily find what you need.

This long book takes place in a jungle and is about a boy named Nihu that lived in a small village. One day Nihu is out hunting, and his uncle was killed by an arrow that a robber took after Nihu shot it. Everybody thought Nihu killed his uncle, so he was told not to come back to the village. He went to the jungle to live, and met Old Phil. They got to be friends, but Old Phil died. Nihu met many creatures when he was in the jungle. Some were friendly, but some were mean and scary. He finally tries to find his way out of the jungle and falls through a crack in the earth. A very mean creature takes him and puts him inside a stone, with some other prisoners. We don't find out until the very end if he ever escapes.

This was a long book, and it was hard for me to read by myself. There were a lot of big words, and some parts were hard for me to understand. It was exciting, and sometimes scary. The different creatures that Nihu met were very strange, and some wanted to kill him. But some of the creatures that were the scariest turned out to be nice, so I liked that. The ending was good, too. The words that the writer used made it feel like you were in the middle of the jungle with Nihu. I could picture in my mind what the jungle looked like - very scary, and a place I would not like to visit. I could understand how Nihu felt. I kind of liked this book, because my mom helped me with the parts I didn't understand. It would be better for someone a few years older than me that could read it without help. Boys and girls that like exciting books would like "The Adventures of Nihu."

Tintin and Captain Haddock go to a psychic show. There an Indian fakir puts his assistant into a trance. She forsees a mysterious illness striking a photographer on a recent expedition to recover Incan artifacts. One by one the researchers on the expedition fall into mysterious comas. Near each lies a shattered crystal ball...

For some comic relief here Captain Haddock tries hard to be oh so proper (he has recently aquired his ancestral estate and title). He is fixated on wearing a monocle at all times. This is an involved mystery with many clever bits of detective work and technology used by the characters. This particular book is definitely the first of two parts and doesn't stand alone. At the end of this one Tintin and the Captain are off in pursuit of a potential villain. But we still don't know what was in the crystal balls or how it connects to the Incan curse, and a major character has been kidnapped and not reunited with the heros. So you will have to read Prisoners of the Sun to not be left hanging after this one.

If you are reading this to help learn German, Tintin comics are good for reading at a German 2 level. There are a lot of words that aren't basic vocabulary but it is still easy to follow the story because the writing and pictures tend to reinforce each other. However this is a two part mystery and you are going to be reading two books, so if this is overload then try another Tintin comic instead.

The authors enable readers to weave African American Vernacular English into standard English in such as way as to imagine that such mingling can be the basis for powerful writing by those who ordinarily use AAVE, unlike many of us who have not developed an "ear" for it.

This text is a mind-opener, and yet compelling in its presentation.
