Adrienne and her friend Liz are after-school nannies for two ultra rich families that live in the same building in NYC. Liz has a wealthy boyfriend, while the older sister of Adrienne's charge is a bored and spoiled rotten rich young woman who thrives on mocking Adrienne (notches lower in the pecking order) and getting her in trouble, all the while making it seem like she cares enough to be her friend. This is a terrific, gossipy read, filled with teen-aged angst, high-profile back-stabbing along with down-to-earth sentiments. Take a fun, high-powered adventure into how the upper crust lives, and enjoy the ride!

LOVE IT!!

I love every book in this series, but Juicy Secrets is the best! I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading it, and I couldn't stop. This is one of the most addicting books I've ever read. Anyone who hasn't read this book is missing out on a lot.

Victoria Ashton scores again.

I am an adult who enjoys a good YA novel and the entire series Confession of a Teen Nanny is quite entertaining.

Certainly, this novel can be considered lightweight, but the characters, the writing and the storyline are so entertaining that you forget that you are not reading "high" lit.

Juicy Secrets involves more romance, more gossip and more disgusting deeds by those "other, richer sider of the world".

Buy this book - its fun - but it is a little too short - as is most of the books in this series.

Teen nannies and society girl wannabes Adrienne and Liz finally have everything they've ever dreamed of. At least, that's what they think. While Adrienne's relationship with Brian, her boyfriend of two-years, is over ever since he kicked her to the curb to creep around with rich girl debutante, and celeb wannabe, Cameron Warner, Adrienne doesn't mind flying solo for awhile. But when Graydon "Gray" Warner, begins making advances towards Adrienne. Advances that seem much more sincere than the ladies man has ever displayed before, she begins falling for his charm. However, when Adrienne's charge, and Graydon's half-sister, whiz kid Emma Warner, begins putting her detective skills to the test, she discovers some very unsettling news about her new crush, that leave her wondering whether she's being played for a fool. Liz, on the other hand, feels that her relationship with Parker Devlin, wealthy heir, and handsome guy to boot, is going strong. That is, except for the fact that one day he's excessively attentive, and the next, he's running on cold, and dodging her phone calls, e-mails, and text messages, leaving her wondering what else is going on in his world of wealth. As if that weren't bad enough, Liz has got to deal with a fretful nine-year-old, whose supposed Child Psychologist extraordinaire mother seems to feel that the best way to compete with other society parents is by forcing her skittish child into taking horseback riding lessons, and competing in horsemanship shows. Now, the two girls (along with a handful of their friends) must get to the bottom of all of the secrets surrounding them, before someone ends up with a broken heart. Or, even worse, an unkind blurb on Page Six that could ruin their reputation forever.

Victoria Ashton never ceases to amaze me with her creative writing skills, and downright juicy characters. The fact that she combines uber-wealthy characters, with those who have to "work hard for the money" gives readers a chance to view both sides of the spectrum, and how hard it is for the working-class to win a chance to play in the world of the rich. Adrienne is an interesting character, whose kind, yet inquisitive nature make her appealing; while the various tricks she constantly has up her sleeve provide for some juicy entertainment. Though, I must admit, the character after my own heart is actually her charge, eight-year-old Emma Warner, whose intelligent lingo, and crazy schemes always leave me wanting more. As with the previous installments in this can't-miss series, Ashton has combined a pinch of money, a dash of fashion, and a whole lot of back-stabbing scandal that will leave you foaming at the mouth, and wanting oh-so-much more.

This third novel by Victoria Ashton, JUICY SECRETS, is another great addition to the CONFESSIONS OF A TEEN NANNY series. In this book, many things change! There is also a huge cliffhanger for what will happen in the next book! I would only read this book if you have read the first two books, which are equally as phenomenal. If you don't read them in order they might not make a lot of sense.

Many secrets about people in the book are reveled and some odd couples get together. (Hint: They are two people you never would have expected!) Liz's relationship with Parker Devlin takes a bad turn! A very odd secret about Parker's father comes out and it totally crushes him!

Emma, the little nine-year-old whiz kid that Adrienne is a nanny for, becomes obsessed with the television show, CSI! Her new spy skills earn Adrienne some very interesting information about her new boyfriend.

You will just have to read the book to find out what else happens!

'Here Comes Heavenly' makes for good, light-hearted reading. The plot is interesting and not heavy and boring. The characters catch you with their vibrant descriptions and you really want to read on, and find out more about Heavenly Litebody, the mysterious nanny who suddenly appears. Where did she come from? Who exactly is she? and so on. It's very fun. I finished it and I wanted to read the sequel immediately!

Reading Here Comes Heavenly was fun, and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next! The Rand children live in a nice neighbor hood, with a nanny, or actually not one solid nanny, the kids can't seem to keep one! One day right after the old nanny quit Heavenyl Litebody was in the kitchen cooking breakfast. The kids asked her how she got in, since they have a 'state of the art alarm syster' but Heavenly found a way to get around that. Weird things start to happen when Heavenly is around, and most of them are benifical. Like, when Kit, one of the kids, wants a boy to be her History partener and the teacher picked Kit's enemy, the grl offeres to have Kit as a 3de person in the group. This girl was never nice, and Kit starts wondering why. The when Heavenly tells Samera, the youngest girl, to do her homeowrk in the kitchen. Samera says NO! and when she tries to go up stairs with er book bag, it breaks, not matter how hard she tries, she cant seems to pick up all her books. Read more of this amazing book, and enjoy!

The Nanny Kit is a great resource that turns finding and hiring a nanny into a simple, logical process. The emotional stress is taken out of the picture because Kim Porrazzo explains everything you need to know step by step, from hiring to training to tax reporting. The Nanny Kit is filled with practical tips, worksheets, logs and sample questions which organize your search. Finding a nanny was easy after reading The Nanny Kit. It gave me the confidence I needed to make an informed choice that was right for me. I recommend The Nanny Kit to anyone starting a search for childcare.

An excellent guidebook for hiring a nanny.

The Nanny Kit must be used before you hire your nanny. It is a step-by-step process that must be completed before the most important person steps into your home. Without using The Nanny Kit, too many things are missed. It has helped me everytime I have hired a nanny!

A useful guide, but only for the wealthy.

Porrazzo's guidebook provides good information about the options for finding a nanny through an agency, newspaper, public postings, or social networks. It also quite effectively lays out the "rules" for the employer, in terms of legal obligations both to the government and to the employee. I found these aspects quite useful.

However, there were two serious points of frustration for me. First, it seems to assume its reader has unlimited resources, and never discusses any of the compromises that are part of most parents' struggle to find adequate child care, especially in-home care. Second, it seems to assume that all of the job applicants are trained, literate, educated, and fluent in English -- and dismisses those who are not as "illegal aliens." This is not the reality of the market. Many of those who are legally qualified to work in the U.S. are not fluent in English; some cannot read in any language. Additionally, many of them do not have the resources to maintain reliable transportation. Any comprehensive guidebook on hiring child care workers must address these more complex problems.

Good for those hiring a NANNY...

While a slim volume at less than 100 pages, this book does give a good overview of the issues involved in selecting a nanny. As the previous reviewer notes, it is aimed as those who will be hiring a Nanny, as opposed to an Au pair, or other type of child care worker. Nannies are generally better educated and more costly to hire and employ, but do provide more intensive and usually education based childcare. Keep that in mind when purchasing, though it does give some good basic information that will apply to all childcare workers.

Loves lost, loves regained

Clara Mayfield of the title was some twenty years ago the Jamaican housekeeper to the Kaplan family: self absorbed Mr and Mrs Kaplan, the headstrong elder son teenage Danny, and Will, a fit and healthy swimmer who idolised his older brother. Clara is a forthright woman with a strong personality and an open mind, and she quickly brings Danny into line, and soon establishes a close loving and trusting relationship with both boys, but tragedy strikes when Danny is killed in a skiing accident at the age of eighteen.
Five years ago Will enjoyed a relationship lasting for one year with Peter Arcenaux, but his lover walked out on him when he could no longer take the worry of Will's propensity for late night swimming in stormy seas.
However the story starts in the present, with Will a now successful dealer in antique maps. Having since lost contact with Peter, Will befriends his mother Marie Arcenaux in the hopes of regaining his lover. As the story opens Will is in Europe awaiting the arrival of Marie on a flight from the States, but while he is waiting he learns that the plane went down off Long Island. On his return there is considerable uncertainty as to whether Marie was on the flight on not. Peter's sister Grace, who's suffering with cancer, is also trying to locate her mother Marie.
The story unfolds, told in the third person from Clara's and from Grace's perspective, and in the first person by both Will and by Marie, as much in reflection on the past as in the present. We learn much of the different families' backgrounds and troubled relationships, and how they cope with their present problems: Grace's recurrence of cancer and Marie's continued disappearance, and of course Will and Peter and their longing to get back together but each uncertain how the other feels. Clara remains a steadfast support throughout.
This is a very warm and involving story; the lively infusion from Clara's aspect provides much needed relief from the sometimes oppressive worries of the others. Olshan captures beautifully her Jamaican dialogue, and her freeness of expression lends a touch of humour.
As the story reaches its end we are left to draw our own conclusions on the outcome of some problems, but we are also faced with a sudden and shocking realisation, while yet another problem is resolved most satisfyingly.
(It is a pity that the writing was spoilt by the repeated incorrect use of the second person personal pronoun)

What can I say, but another fresh endearing look into the life of Will Kaplan and why he is such a unforgettable character. When I first heard there was another book featuring the same characters from 'Nightswimmer' and 'Clara's Heart. I went out to 3 different bookstore to find it. I was not disappointed by this haunting, and honest novel told from quite a few perspectives of current and remembered events. There are many things I could say this book is about: hope, longing, family, trust, faith, fate. But of all those things, to me, it's mainly about surviving the past. The ways that different people choose to perceive/cope with the past, and the understanding that can come from it, if we really get honest with ourselves. How there is more to just surviving the past, but having to to decide 'what do I do now?'. Although I was a bit confussed about when this story actually takes place. Was this before or after he had met and lost Chad? Also he went from being a map collector in this book, to a writer , but I don't remember Will collecting maps, as well as writing in 'Nightswimmer'. But otherwise there are no complaints, he kept me guessing almost till the end. If you have never read one of Mr.Olshan's books, take the chance to read one of his other well written novels. (Nightswimmer and 'A Warmer Season' are my favorites) He is one of the few authors I have read that, rather than wrapping the ending all up in a pretty bow, he leaves the resolution in your hands, much like life really is.

Bringing back characters from his previous novels "Clara's Heart" and "Nightswimmer", Olshan's new novel centers on a group of people struggling to extricate themselves from the past. Will is stunned when the plane his friend Marie was supposed to be on crashes into the ocean, but when her name isn't listed as among the passengers, the fact of her boarding the plane comes into question. He reaches out to Clara, who helped him get through his brother's death years before. Will is eventually contacted by Marie's children, Peter (Will's ex-boyfriend) and Grace (who's dying of cancer), and the four adults soon come together to await news of Marie's whereabouts. Peter and Will still love each other after all these years, and they slowly reconfigure their new relationship. Each character is mired in the past, and there are numerous flashbacks exploring this, which all grow distracting and tedious as the novel progresses. The reader cannot help but care about these rambling people though, and is treated to a good story to find out how it all ends.

Reading In Clara's Hands was so much like attending my 20th high school reunion. Even though all the news and all the stories weren't wonderful, I was back among the safety of close and trusted friends.

In Clara's Hands is a journey that takes place in the past and the present. The first two words on the first page: Clara Mayfield. Read just a little farther and Blanche is mentioned. Then Will and David and Mrs. Hart. Add Marie, Grace and Peter to the mix and the resulting story is complex and compelling.

Will needs Clara to help him conquer demons of the past and present, while at the same time, Clara has her own demoms to overcome. Mystery and suspense surround the disappearance of Marie, while Grace anxiously awaits word about her mother. Time, being of the essense, adds to the heightened sense of urgency. Grace is dying now. Danny died quite a while ago and everyone needs to come to terms with the past and the present.

Clara, with all her wisdom, tries to give Will strength, yet Clara is also suffering to come to terms with Danny's death. Will seems to be surrounded by death...his brother, his ex's mother and his ex's sister. It all seems a little to much to take.

This is another strong story that uses characters of the past and familiar current events to instantly draw you in. This is another great novel that I highly recommend.

My daughter needed a nanny. Neither of us knew anything about it. Based on the reviews, I got her this book. I haven't read it myself but years later, my daughter quotes from this book, having forgotten where it came from. She has kept her nanny, who is like a member of the family. When things don't come naturally, a good book can bridge the gap. These insights help on a daily basis. When Amazon put this title on my list of purchases, I ignored it, thinking it was a mistake. I didn't connect Mary Poppins with nanny. Because of this and the fact that I haven't read it, the book gets four stars.

This book is FABULOUS. I was sad when it ended. It's good for a few reasons: it consists of short stories, so you can read when you only have a few minutes, it brings out the feelings you didn't know you had about having a nanny (besides sometimes guilt), you see life and motherhood from many mom's perspectives, and you find yourself saying, "yes, I know!" to many statements made. It's a great read.

I was quite excited to read this book having been a (British) professional nanny for a long time. I found the book to be very touching and felt like I could go on reading about the relationships between mother's and nannies forever, it was really interesting to take a glimpse into the lives of these families. (I was hoping for a great story about a Brit nanny and mother relationship). I really do recommend that parents and nannies read this fabulous collection of stories.

I am an adult who enjoys reading teen fiction. I had read the first book in this series and thought it was good. The second book in the series - Rich Girls is even better.

The basic storyline of two "non rich" girls working as nannies for two over the top rich families. One of the families has the requisite older rich sister - which, in this case, is obviously in the storyline to create havoc with our nannies.

Although some of the stuff may be a little over the top, the storylines are interesting and the author has a wonderful writing style.

I would definitely suggest buying this one.

Adrienne Lewis and Liz Braun are the best of friends. Attending separate schools is hard enough, but they also share the same occupation of being a nanny to spoiled rich kids whose parents have nothing better to do than to push them off on others. Things wouldn't be so bad if Liz wasn't dating Parker Devlin, the main guy at Adrienne's school. To top it off, Adrienne has some serious boy challenges of her own. Her archrival Cameron Warner, who also happens to be the big sister of the child she tends to, stole her ex-boyfriend Brian away from her and obviously has no intention of giving him back. Not to mention, Cameron doesn't even want to be with him; it's all about making Adrienne's life as miserable as possible.

With the holidays looming ahead, and the heavily anticipated debutante cotillion shortly following, Adrienne is at an impasse. Cameron's stepmother has voluntarily agreed to pay her to steal Brian back so that he won't be Cameron's escort, and Adrienne is up for the challenge. Hey, it's free money, right? When the Warners leave for Aspen, Adrienne is elated when Brian agrees to accompany her to dinner. Things start off well between them but end on a dry note as the family returns unexpectedly and spoils Adrienne's plans.

On the other side of town, Liz is fretting about her boyfriend Parker and his reputation for being a playboy. To make matters worse, she's a nanny for a psychologist who's psycho in every sense of the word. When she's invited to Aspen for the holidays to help with the kids, Liz is sure she'll get some time to spend with Parker. As luck should have it, she does get to spend a little time with him, but things don't turn out quite the way she expected.

As the rich society girls get ready for the debutante cotillion, Liz and Adrienne hatch a plan to make them all pay --- in one way or another. As the night unravels, although these two aren't being introduced into society, they sure are beautiful enough to take the spotlight off the main players of the ball, proving that money doesn't buy everything.

Victoria Ashton does a fabulous job with this storyline. The vivid details and dialogue between the characters add the right mix to make this second book in the series a definite winner.

A wicked thrill ride through the Upper East Side that brings viciousness to new heights...

Adrienne and Liz are still mingling with the over-privileged teens of Park Avenue. However, while they're working as nannies for genius-level children, the other teens are partying it up with platinum credit cards, and celebrities. But Adrienne and Liz still know how to have a little Upper East Side fun. Adrienne has been courted by Mrs. Warner - her boss - to break-up the relationship between stuck-up Cameron and Adrienne's ex-boyfriend, Brian, and readily agrees. After all, Adrienne has wanted to get back with Brian ever since Cameron stole him from her, and working alongside Mrs. Warner will give her a chance to earn some extra spending money - that will take her all the way to the posh designer shops with the best clothes. But breaking the two new lovebirds up proves to be more difficult than desired based on the fact that Cameron needs a date to the Manhattan Cotillion - where she will be coming out to New York society. Without Brian, she'll have no one to present her. Liz, on the other hand, is dating the prestigious pretty boy Parker - a guy with connections and good looks. Parker seems to be the perfect boyfriend - at times - but can be a totally different person when he wants. All Liz wants to know is whether Parker is cheating on her or not - but finding out the answer is harder than she's ever imagined. Now these two rich girl wannabes are at an ultimate face-off with the privileged Page Six princesses, and need every bit of luck - as well as some cash and connections - to set things back on track, and get to the bottom of the lies.

After reading CONFESSIONS OF A TEEN NANNY last year, I became hooked on the lifestyles of the rich - as well as the not-so-rich - and famous, and was unsure whether Victoria Ashton would be able to outdo herself with the sequel RICH GIRLS. Well, the proof is written in ink: she most certainly could. RICH GIRLS is a vicious sequel that will floor all readers, and leave them with a cliffhanger that will surely interfere with their own lives. As opposed to being totally about Adrienne's problems with Cameron - like in the series' first installment - RICH GIRLS focuses a lot of attention on Liz and her worries about Parker. From Manhattan to Aspen, RICH GIRLS brings every aspect of the rich to life, giving readers a birds-eye view of how the privileged spend every waking hour. A wicked thrill ride through the Upper East Side that brings viciousness to new heights.

Squirrels Talk Too!

Divorced at Six" is a delightful read about a mischievous little girl named Ellie, her special squirrel friend she calls Harold, a mom and dad in the throes of an ugly divorce. Ellie tells all her troubles to Harold and he actually talks back to her, although Ellie is the only one who understands his lingo. Ellie's mother, Penny, accepts the talking squirrel; her father, Dennis, thinks a pet squirrel who talks is nonsense.

Truthfully, Dennis is not a very nice man, but as the story progresses, we learn he is struggling with problems at work which make him unreasonable and angry at the world. Meanwhile, Penny puts their house up for sale and tries to deal with Dennis. Ellie is worried that moving to a new house will leave Harold homeless.

But Nanny Doodle doesn't let that happen and introduces us to a charming "old south" gent named Red who has a wonderful big house for sale with lots of trees for Harold to choose from.

Nanny is a gifted storyteller who weaves her characters together with emotion and humor, even a few tears. She has an uncanny insight into a little girls' mind. We find ourselves believing that squirrels do indeed listen and talk to children. There are great dialogue sequences between Penny and Dennis, and Red and his two ladies: Penny and Ellie. Nanny proves that happiness can be found after divorce--even for a squirrel.

The longing and lust building up througout the book is mesmerizing. Pure chemical reaction. The ending kind of runs out of steam as I would have like to have seen the two girls go off together. But all in all I was very satisfied with this book. For me Mindy Kaplan delivered the goods.

Two girls, two computers..... too forbiddingly tantalizing. Mindy Kaplan has taken two suddenly "chic" topics which many of us know very little about, and managed to create a sexy and secretive cyber-romance that easily puts the later penned and overly-hyped flic "You've Got Mail" in its proper resting place. You'll find yourself in worlds simutaneously both real and imagined, and tweaked by the notion that both your sexual and cyber wiles aren't as sharp as you once thought. Kaplan gives wondrous new meaning to the term "sexual-advances". Leave your bible behind.

Heaven Scent, Jacqueline Diamond

Dr. Nancy Verano is facing a publish or perish dilemma, but she hasn't found a study that captures her scientific interest until her sister begs her to take on a nanny position on a ranch. Well, Nancy could write an article on cowboys while she's there, and she's a child psychologist for pete's sake, so surely she can handle the kids. But can she handle Max Richter, their sexy rancher dad???

Jacqueline Diamond pens a hilarious story of cowboys, kids and...skunks??? Oh, yeah, and true and ever lasting love!

Shotgun Nanny is a story with a bang of comedy!!

Shotgun Nanny, by Nancy Warren

Annie Parker is a clown...a real big feet, grease paint, cracking jokes clown. A clown who ends up taking a temporary babysitting job for an ex-Mountie with a security complex. Mark Saunders isn't just safety minded about his niece, he's obsessed. And speaking of obsessions, Mark's can't seem to stop thinking about his new nanny whether she's in or out of her clown suit. As a matter of fact, he discovers he's rather partial to her out of it!

A free spirit meets the establishment in this hysterical story of opposites attract in Nancy Warren's fantasticly funny Duet!

Terrific fun! Highly recommended

Duets combine with two tales of rather unorthodox nannies who never intended a career in childcare. Outrageous hilarity and scent-sational fun prove that these authors aren't just clowning around. Congratulations to authors Jacqueline Diamond and Nancy Warren for earning the first WordWeaving Award for Excellence for a Duet!

HEAVEN SCENT by Jacqueline Diamond: Assistant psychology professor Nancy Verano finds herself without a job for the summer, so her sister convinces her to trade identities. Before her sister landed her big break on a sitcom, she had accepted a position advertised on the Internet for a nanny. Too bad Nancy dislikes domesticity. Of course, the very name of the nearest town suggests trouble: Skunk Crossing.

Something stinks in Skunk Crossing, but Diamond's tale comes up smelling like roses. Vegetarianism, a desire for Vienna sausages, and teens give this heroine a unique challenge that will keep the laughs coming. Max's attitude toward psychologist provides strong motivation for secret keeping, which inevitably leads to trouble. A delightful read!

SHOTGUN NANNY by Nancy Warren: When Annie Porter meets super serious ex-Mountie Mark Saunders under less than auspicious circumstances, neither dreams that they would soon cross paths again. Mark does not recognize Annie under her grease paint when arrives at as niece's birthday party as a clown, but her remarkable success with his niece leads to an irresistible offer of employment. Inevitably, Annie's free spirit collides with Mark's staid approach, as her very presence brings laughter and disaster in equal measure.

Nancy Warren's clowning around results in hysterical hilarity in SHOTGUN NANNY. Annie's free spirit and engaging personality draws out her reticent charge and the circumspect uncle in equal measure. Squirrels, dogs, and out of control humor will keep readers laughing until the last page. Indeed, Warren's effortlessly charming prose proves her mastery of romantic comedy.

Karen's Copycat is really good. Lately, Andrew has been copying Karen a lot, and she's getting sick of it. Will he ever stop? Meanwhile, due to circumstances, Karen and Andrew will be taking an advance pottery class, taught by their nanny, Merry. Karen is sure she can handle it, but she soon learns that it's just too hard to keep up with the class. Then, Karen passes one of Isabel's (the best student in the class)peices as her own. Now Karen feels awful. What will Merry say when she finds out that Karen's work really isn't hers?

This book is about a girl named Karen who has a new nanny named Merry. Because of Karen and Merry's scedule, Karen and her little brother Andrew join Merry's pottery class even though the kids in the class are a little bit older. Karen wants to prove to Merry that she is the best potter ever. Then there is a girl, Isabel who is a great potter. Karen gets so angry she does something very bad which makes her a copycat. It is very drastic. I thought it was very good. I would highly reccomend this book.
