Bad books on bullying resolve the conflict by having the bully pledge eternal friendship after receiving Algebra (or English
or History) lessons from the bullied. There are a lot of bad books about bullying out there. This isn't one of them. Highly
recommended to be read aloud with a child on your lap.

Another Great Book from Aaron Reynolds

My eight year son thinks Tiger Moth ROCKS!
He gets so involved in the stories & feels the struggles
that face the characters. And when he's eaten up the
book, he's ready to read it again, and again.
Oh, and the artwork, he loves the artwork, too!
This series works as his first experience with comic books.
He's takes notes on how action is illustrated and how the
story is laid out block by block.
As a parent, I love watching my son get sucked in the Tiger Moth
stories. As we read it together, we are always lead to discuss
the value of the character's virtues. (Thank you, Aaron Reynolds.)
Reynolds doesn't stop at the story, he ALWAYS has valuable bits to share
all the way to the back inside book cover. He just ROCKS, that way.
It doesn't matter if your kiddos are 3 or 10 years old -
Aaron Reynolds has written books they will LOVE!
I highly recommend looking at ALL his works before
checking out your cart.

Biogeographical classic!

Although almost 40 years old (as of 2005), this book is almost required reading for anyone interested in the dipteran family
Chironomidae, as well as anyone interested in biogeography and ecology. This ground-breaking volume helped introduce to many
in the English-speaking world Hennig's cladistical methodology, and linked inferences from this method of phylogenetic systematics
of chironomids to the discipline of Wegnerian tectonics to create a powerful and convincing biogeographical conclusion. Apart
from the taxonomic treatments of various groups of Southern Hemispheric chironomids (with amazingly detailed and beautiful
drawings), it is a well-written book, although its taxonomic detail may make it appear it is meant only for a specialist.
(On the other hand, it is NOT light reading). For anyone working with Chironomidae and Diptera, entomology, biogeography,
and the history of zoology, it is required reading. And if you're lucky to find a copy available for sale, consider yourself
lucky and pay the price. 5 stars.

As an elementary school Spanish teacher this book is a lifesaver. While I found some of the translations slightly unusual
it is a great way to use childrens literature to teach many subjects in Spanish. Since it is a favorite of all children
and so well known the book is easily understood and can teach number, colors, days of the week, and the life cycle of a
caterpillar.

Anyone who thinks ladybirds (aka ladybugs) are their favourite insect should read this book. Discover, for instance, that
the larvae of several species, as soon as they hatch out, eat up a couple of siblings before going out into the wide world
to look for aphids. Apart from being a fascinating read, this is a comprehensive scientific account of the ladybird species
of Britain. A little scientific knowledge is assumed in some chapters. I would recommend it thoroughly to naturalists and
anyone else keen to know more about ladybirds.

It was my oldest daughter's favorite when she was a toddler. we would pretend eating the picnic with the mouse family, we
would make our hand crawl like the spider or buzz like the bee, and best of all she would look for and find good friend ladybug
the mice Emily and Sam are looking for. Now 8 years later my youngest 20 mths old daughter has picked this book as her favorite
among all the other books we have. She wants to read it every night and does the exact same gestures that her big sister
did at her age: eat the picnic, crawl like the spider etc... and above all find ladybug !

This is one of the best books I purchased for my toddler thus far. It has stunning illustrations; the material is simple and
useful - I learned a lot about lady bugs, which I didn't know. And let's face it, what kid doesn't love those critters?

Wonderfully written and charmingly illustrated by Mia Posada, Ladybugs: Red, Fiery And Bright is an educational picturebook
especially designed to entertain and inform young readers. Its rhyming verse text teaches the young reader about the life
cycle of the ladybug, from egg to larva, to molting and eventually metamorphosing into the fiery red insect that everyone
knows so well. Ladybugs also has a brief addendum that tells more basic facts about ladybugs, such as how farmers use them
to control aphids. A superbly crafted and presented book for young folks, Ladybugs is enthusiastically recommended for both
school and community library collections.
