Great book. Great pictures! Very educational. Highly recommend if your looking for a broad viv info.

I recently bought this book and have read it with my son no less than 20 times. VERY impress with the story and artwork as well. I recommend this book to all!

Excellent book! I found five green and speckled frogs and a log and the children reinact this story! The children at Preschool love this!

Valerie Wilkinson has captured the imagination of young readers with these outstanding photos of various types of flies. She has managed to keep the text both interesting and easy to read and understand. A must have for any child learning about insects, their habits, and body structures.

Flies in the Face of Fashion is divided into two-page vignettes, each enlightening the reader to another eyebrow-raising fact about insects, and is especially recommended for school and community library collections, or as a giftbook for budding entymologists. A most enjoyable and educational browse for readers of all ages.

Flik's Perfect Gift is a cute story. It's Atta's birthday and Flik wants to get her something great. He uses his brain to think of some ideas with a daisy.Yet though he can't make a good present out of it, Atta thinks it's wonderful. This story really shows it's not the gift, but the thought that counts.

This book is geared for elementary school aged children. All Serendipity books have a moral to the story and this one is about acceptance of who you are and to be happy with you as a person. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and you don't need to be like someone else to have value. Flutterby will have young readers feel the frustrations of not fitting in with groups. It will have them feel empathy towards someone who is different and hopefully be more accepting of others in real life. When I read it to students we often have a group discussion about it being ok to be different than others and to accept those who may dress differently, speak differently, etc. This book shows children what it's like to be on the receiving end of ridicule and will hopefully be a lesson they don't forget as they get older.

Flutterby is excellent in helping students understand that differences between people are acceptable and not something of which to be afraid. The combination of an incredible story and amazing pictures makes this book a winner for the classroom or the home library.

This is a beautiful children's book. The illustrations are very colorful and the pop ups are brillant! My 3 year old has had this book for a year now and she is rough on books - but the pop ups are still popping up beautifully.

The story is about a ladybug "Ladybird" - who hears a child saying the poem Ladybird, Ladybird fly away home, your house is on fire, your children are flown. The ladybug gasps and faints to hear such news. From that point on all of the other bugs in the garden work together to get the unconscious ladybug back to her home. Each page has a colorful popup and some have a pull tab to move the popup. My daughter loves to pull the tab which makes the spider lift the ladybug up to her home. Very sweet story.

My 3 yr old daughter is facinated with butterflies. We checked this out at the library, but after endless reading, we bought it. It gives great scientific info. in a way kids can understand. After reading this, I just wanted to get all the books in the series (there's a dozen). If your child is interested in bugs- bees, worms, fireflies, spiders, etc. these are the books to get! A++

It is a great book to use in Kindergarten. It is a one to one correspondence book.
