Insects Books

Like the others books by Michael Chinery, this is the most completed field guide for insects. Easy for a beginnner and plenty of informations, pictures and notes on a lot of species. Very good! Excellent!

My two year old daughter loves all of these books. We have taken them on the plane and down to the local cafe while having coffee. The stickers are robust,don't rip and keep her amused while I have my coffee. We have all of these books and rotate them to keep up the interest levels. They are largely toddler proof and a better investment than most sticker books. The colours are vibrant and there is a storage page for the stickers. Highly recommended.

I got this book because I would be out in my garden and I'd find a bug and wonder what it was and what its ife was all about. This book has both color plates and black and white drawings making it easy it id the critters. It has good info written for the lay person. I use it in combination with other insect id books I have

An excellent field guide. It is complete with photos of the larvae and adult along with drawings to show important identification points. The only thing lacking is the season of adult flight.

For those who do not already own the superb field guide, here is a portable (and cheaper!) ring-bound version consisting of the original plates together with their brief facing text. In fact, this version includes one additional species. Covers almost all c900 species of "macro" moth of Britain and Ireland. The plates are quite simply stunning - not just for their wealth of observed detail, but also because of their intrinsic beauty.

I still prefer to have the original version, but I can imagine that this ring-bound edition will be very popular.

AWSOME! I just got this for my classroom but to make it "reuseable" I laminated the book and stickers and put velcro on it so it can be used over and over! GREAT big colorful stickers- has the whole story (minus the little holes that kids like to stick fingers in :( BUT it allows us to use stickers there instead!) My one complaint is that the cover says the stickers are reuseable and they are not- thus why I had to laminate- but worth the effort!!

This is our 5th David Carter "BUGS" pop-up book. My son loves these pop-up books since he was 6 months old (now 15 months) and wants them all the time. They are evan better than "The Wheels on the Bus" book, but more compact. Not only are these books alot of fun for both parent and child but educational as well. We have this particular one for our travel bag and they are always a special treat, especially because our son can hold it in his little hands. They are nicely put together and brightly colored. You will not be disappointed I guarantee!

The ideas in the book are creative and original. It is hard to decide which craft to do first. My kids really enjoy these books and I have lots of other craft books but we always end up picking something out of the "wild about" series.

This is a very captivating book for young readers. It has lovely sparkles and the words are rhythmic. It is engaging and a fun experience to read this with a kid. My parrot Snoopy Phoenix Mulberry loves to read this book along with me and he has most of it memorised!
