Bean Books

From the very first page I was impressed with the contents of this unusual recipe book. Information on nutritional values, recipes from different countries, and variety ranging from entrees to desserts, All made from the lowly BEAN. I recommend it for everyday and company cooking!

After watching Tom Chasuk on the Jay Leno show, I trotted out and bought his book. He's a clever writer and the recipes really work. I especially love Nick's Favorite Black Bean Dip. This isn't an all-purpose cookbook, but it is a terrific little book for appetizers and bean-based main dishes

The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver is an exceptional novel. When the lead character of the story tries to escape the seemingly inevitable life of early pregnancy in her Kentucky home, she unwittingly finds herslef caring for a baby along the way. And so begins Taylor Greer and Turtles', (a Native American babys') story. "Turtle" was forced on Taylor by an old woman at a bar and Taylor has no idea what to do with her, so she takes her with her. Taylor and Turtle become inseperatable and they find their new life in Arizona. Finding new friends along the way Taylor is aided in finding a new person in herself and helps bring out the better in the people in her life. She learns how important life is and that love is the most important thing. Her new friends, Mattie, Lou Ann, Estevan and Esperenza all show her hidden confidence within herself with the tasks' that she must face in her new life.. With any luck Taylor and Turtle will have a full life. Taylor seems to be the mother figure that Turtle needs in her life and Turtle is the child that completes Taylor in a way that makes her happy. We would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a story about change and maturing.

It's great to know that someone knows the way to good eating. Not saturated with meat or garlic. Great read from start to finish.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Minestroni soup and it was delicious!

This is a beautiful book of Bedfordshire bobbin lace patterns. It is not meant for the beginner, but the experienced Bedfordshire lacemaker. There is virtually no instruction, and no diagrams whatsoever. If you have the experience to work the patterns, or a good teacher close at hand, however, there are many treasures and challenges to be found in this book.

This book may have been around for a few years but it is still pertinent today. It is written as a scientific reference and doesn't make for easy reading but is an excellent reference for those interested in coffee production, coffee processing, and the botanical aspects of the plant. I would recomend this book for anyone with a little background in plant science, botany, or simply a deep interest in production aspects of coffee.

This book provide a thematic and systematic way to understand industrial relations on comparative basis. The language usage is simple and easy to understand, particularly for non-english speaker. Yet, issues relating to Asian is not much being discuss which in return it seems to represent the western framework only. Compare to other books concerning this topic, this book is recommended for a good start to enhance knowledge in this field.

This is an excellent devotional for young children. The pictures are very appealing to them. Each entry has a story with ties into the Young Readers Bible. There are fun activities. At thanksgiving we did one where we went outside and collected things that God made in our world, acorns, leaves, sticks, pinecones. The kids had fun gluing and learning about all the things that God made. There are prayers and memory verses also included. We use it for our family devotional time. It had simple easy to read words so that your child can read with you. You definatly need the bible that accompanies it to make it all flow together.

This book is a well written and easy to understand introduction to the sport of gliding. It explains the basic theory of aircraft manuvering and can be put into use the second you step into the cockpit. My only gripe is that author tends to be a bit teacherish and expects his students to be easily confused and scared durung their first flight.
