This book offers recipes for stunning first courses to suit every occasion. Recipes are chosen to delight the eye and palette, but are not over-elaborate. There are seventy-five recipes.

Stone Soup Magazine is a really great magazine. It features work from kids all over the country. I really enjoy the colorful illustrations and exciting stories, and like how it's written by kids just like me!

This is a wonderful soup cookbook with pictures of some of the prepared soups. You will get over 500 recipes.
Well worth it's money.

The book I am reviewing is Uncle Willie and the Soup Kitchen by Dyanne Disalvo-Ryan. I gave this book four stars. This book is about people at a soup kitchen. A boy learns how to help from his uncle. There are people who come to eat at a soup kitchen. I would recommend this book to a friend.

This is a great book for teaching nutrition to the very young. Cookie Monster never fails to capture the attention of kids, and Bert and Ernie do a great job showing Cookie that there is more to life than cookies, veggies are great, too. My only concern about this book is that Bert and Ernie use a stove without an adult, so parents will need to remind children that real little kids don't do that.

Although there is some information on food allergies in this book, most of the anecdotal references are for a gluten-free diet, so I find it to be of somewhat limited use for my peanut-allergy family. That being said, there are some very helpful sections. An interview with a chef offers suggestions for dining out; a discussion of various ethnic foods includes typical allergens used in that type of cooking (although peanuts were missing from Chinese food, and other peanut-allergy sources have recommended avoiding Chinese reataurants altogether). A listing of "friendly" national restaurants includes phone and Internet contact information as well as a listing of whether allergens or gluten ingredients are listed on the website. Although the definition of allergy or gluten-friendly restaurants may vary from person to person (there were restaurants listed that I would not take my peanut-allergic son to), it is helpful to have the contact information at one's fingertips. Likewise, a listing of "friendly" local restaurants seemed to focus more on gluten awareness at those locations, but the contact information would also be useful for those with food allergies.

All in all, I will use portions of this book in conjunction with other resources I have, and it will likely have its home in the car as a ready reference.

Updates appear to be planned, and will probably be necessary as restaurant information could change frequently. A downloadable update to the restaurant contact and website information would be ideal.

I love these guys. Every day when I open my newspaper I immediately flip to the page with the Real Life Adventure of the day. They are consistently hilarious.

Whey are their only books 10 years old and out of print? Publish some new ones. I would buy them as gifts for everyone on my Christmas list.

Easy reading -- 100 page guide to understanding causes of anger and how to cope with it. Uses laymen terms, discusses behavior consequences and physical consequences associated with anger. Helps you to work through anger and problem solving with self evalution through suggested homework. Recommended reading for people who are personally dealing with anger or want to improve their relationship with an angry person. I found Chapter 9 "Why are our children so angry" to be very beneficial in dealing with angry teenagers.
