The Links of Wales is a tale of two Americans who traveled to the mysterious land of Wales, the ancient Celtic kingdom of dragons and druids, to play golf on links courses, that is, the golf courses near the ocean. The writer shows that playing on some lesser known courses with club members can be even more fun than playing on a top-100 course. Some of the incidents these two went through on their trip involved more than golf: some were funny and not so funny (like their adventure in the resort town of Mumbles, home to the actress-wife of Michael Douglas, Catherine Z-J). I enjoyed reading about their matches: how they battled with Welsh golfers and sometimes against each other. The book gives tips on travel, accomodations, the Welsh culture and history, how golf evolved in Wales, and how to arrange matches with local club members. Educational and entertaining. A++

This is a wonderful book about golfers in the Lone Star State. Highly recommend it to all lovers of the great game and for the fans of Hogan, Trevino, Nelson, Crenshaw and others. But you also gain a great appreciation for such great Texans like January, Marr, Burke, Demaret, Thompson and Haynie. The author tells the backstory on so many pros, tournaments, courses and assorted characters that you can't help but feel that the game's roots are deep in the heart of Texas.

I found this to be true about the read. From working with a caddy to the travel to the pressure to find their swing, this book does a great job.

Worth the effort to find and read.

This is a must have book for anyone who cares about low scores and fun on the golf course. Mr. Peters provides several quick drills for any swing fault. When any little part or piece of your game goes out of whack, he gives several drills to quicky put you back on track. No serious golfer should be without this book.

In fact do NOT recommend this book to your friends. I may be playing them, and not having this book is a definate handicap.

This is an outstanding book filled with common sense, wit and wisdom from a true student and lover of the game. This book is great for competitive golfers and recreational golfers. This is a book that every golfer should read.

Superb book. Read many golf instructional books over the years and this tops them all on useful advice on the full swing.Doesn't depart from most traditional teaching radically but has weeded through the tips we all regularly read to get down to the real meat of hitting the long ball. Pete

Ms. Scott has truly hit close to home on a subject that a lot of women do not want to talk about or even deal with - the abusive relationship. Her personal testimony has shocked me yet awoke in me things I know I have to watch for in choosing a mate. Hats off to Ms. Scott for her honesty and forthrightness in revealing her tragedy and her triumph!

Sandy Tatum's Amateur golfing career spans every facet of the game and has involved personalities from all walks of life. His book is a fascinating collection of short essays and thoughts about his remarkable life in golf. It is funny, perceptive, and engaging. And there is a short but splendid introduction by Sandy's close friend, Tom Watson. I recommend it to anyone who has ever picked up a club or just enjoyed watching others play.

For all of those that have ever loved this game and for those that wish they were the next Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Tiger Woods, John Daly, Greg Norman, etc. This book is filled with fun, facts that you never knew, super photos, timeless quotes, impossible shots, not so impossible shots - it is truly the Bible for those that love the game and a great coffee table centerpiece for all your friends to enjoy over and over!
