Golf Books

I have the good fortune of knowing Robert Kopp, and i must say this book has helped me move my view of christianity and activeness in the church to a new level. Don't be intimidated by golf in the title for all of you non-players (like me),because the correlations between the sport and religion can be linked with anything else you enjoy. The book gives a clever way to look at faith and is a fun, enjoyable read.There is a good chance you will walk away from this book with a new source of hope to get through these crazy times that we live it. P.S., i'm only 17, so this is good for all ages.

THE BOOK, WRITTEN A LONG TIME AGO,DESCRIBES MANY OF THE MODERN GOLF CLUBS,TEACHING METHODS, AND VIDEO APPROACH,IN AN ALMOST UNCANNY WAY. EVEN THE NOVICE WILL RECOGNIZE THE NEWER ITEMS IN THIS HAPPY STORY WRITTEN A LONG LONG TIME AGO--YOU MUST READ IT, EVEN WITH A 20 PLUS HANDICAP.

Isn't it lovely that books aren't all alike? I find it just as exquisite that there are publishers still around that make books that look and feel gorgeous, that know that people who love books generally love journals with secret hide-away spots, and tabs and photography that induce yearning.

Ryland, Peters & Small is one of those publishers. Do a search on Amazon and find their titles. One of my favorites is Golf Journal, a beautifully put-together book with an old fashioned linen spine, a sporty elastic band to hold it closed (one that, handily, won't get lost!) and, luxuriously heavy paper, secret pockets and-well, you'll just have to see it to believe it.

It includes sections by Mark Rowlinson on Golf Course Design, Top 50 Golf Resorts, Golf Off the Beaten Track, and 18 Great Golf Holes in addition to scorecards for recording "memorable rounds of golf" and handicap records. It is handsome-to have and to hold or to give as a gift.

This is a book that draws you in and gives you an appreciation for the game. Golf's history is filled with drama, embarrassment (Much I'm sure the PGA would like to hide) and hope. I give Burgess much kudos for enlightening the public on the true history of golf.

Having met Mr. Fossum in Grayling, Mi. at a golf clinic recently I purchased his book and video. They are both outstanding and very inspirational. If you ever get a chance to meet Mr.Fossum I highly recommend it. His passion for golf is contagious. He is a wonderful man and outstanding instructor.

This book was my Christmas present to my dad who has been playing golf for 55 or so years, and he wrote the review that follows (I did, however, appreciate the illustrations in the book): "I am greatly impressed by the overall completeness of the book, as it seems to have a solid set of instructions for all possible shots and situations. Even more so, I was impressed with the lessons that are geared to the 'modern' swing methods of core rotation and elimination of any and all lateral movement. As an aspiring golf instructor working on certification, I think Private Lessons will become my manual, used for constant reference and reinforcement. My compliments." And I give myself a 5 for choosing such a good Christmas gift; it's April and he's still raving about it.

This map is an invaluable tool for planning a golf trip to Scotland. It not only shows the location of every golf course. but also provides phone numbers and web sites for each course. Oh yea, it's a great roadmap, too, with insets for Glasgow and Edinburgh.

If you love to play golf and want to stretch your golf budget, you have to get this book. The book contains over 400 hundred golf courses offering discount fees. Additionally, there are discounts to golf tournaments, driving ranges and "stay and play" golf vacations. The only drawback is it only covers California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Hawaii. The publisher says future editions will have more offerings, with possible national offers.

This is a very good book! It is easy to read and it is a sound instructional and learning tool. It is about more than just the mental approach to the game of golf, it discussses many practical tips and techniques that can and will help any golfer think through their game and lower his/her score.

My husband and I have been gifted with this calendar for 2-3 years now and continue to enjoy it daily. Every day's quote is very humorous, whether you're an avid golfer or not. I like the small size because I can prop it up next to our computer and it doesn't take up much room.
