I received the calendar but didn't realize when I ordered it that it was not a wall calendar, probably because I ordered it so late at night.
I tried to return it but would then have to pay shipping on both ends, so I kept it and gave it away.

WHERE'S THE BEST GOLF COURSE FOR MY GAME??
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2000-09-18
Golf Digest has assembled a very useful reference guide which includes 4,200 listings of both public and resort courses in America, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico. For ease of search, the book is divided into 2 parts: the Eastern and Western states arranged alphabetically. The Index has alphabetical listings of both the city or state plus the name of the golf course itself, if that be the method of search. Found the Table of Contents list of the Five-Star Courses, Super Value Courses, Great Value Courses, and Frugal Favorites very helpful. The detailed description of each course, its policies, prices, and player comments is a great addition to the guide. "Know Thy Destination" prompts the Guide's Introduction, including the addresss, phone numbers and directions, which were a great help. A thoughtful addition to the guide is the chapter: TAKING YOUR GAME ON THE ROAD, "There's More to a Golf Vacation Than Just Packing Your Clubs and Booking Tee Times".

This reviewer suggests that golfers check with reservations to confirm prices of green fees and golf carts as they may have changed since the 2nd edition was last printed in 1996.

Matt Rudy was my boy-genius best friend growing up until he found success in New York. I hope all is well out there with all that's happening old buddy. No, I haven't read this book, but I'm sure it's just as good or better than his first.

Golfers of all ages can benefit from The Golf Doc
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 1999-12-03
Despite the serenity of a lush green golf course, it is one of the top five locations where a person will experience a heart attack. The game of golf, like no other sport, combines healthy elements like sunshine and fresh air, with an activity that strengthens the heart, lungs, muscles, and joints of the body, when played properly. Dr. Ed Palank, The Golf Doc, knows. He understands that you can play better golf, and not fall victim to a heart attack or heat stroke, if you pay attention to your body.

Not just another book about improving your game, The Golf Doc is a comprehensive compendium about how to prevent golf injuries and speed up recovery time. The Golf Doc is filled with health tips and useful information on allergies, nutrition, medication, heart care, skin care, vision, playing in adverse weather, exercises for those big drives, course safety, and the mental game. You'll find advice on issues important to women, seniors, juniors, and players with disabilities. Stories from professionals and mere mortals who love the game offer inspiration and words of warning. Golf is a game for life. Improve your game and your life by staying healthy.

This is a magnificent guide to golf, it's turned me into an absolute legend on the golf course. Of course with my dress sense, I was already a bit of a legend, I have to admit, but now I have the game to go with it. Marvellous.

Describes the how and why of excercises for golf.
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 1998-01-05
This book helped my golf game quite a bit, especially in distance and straightness, simply by trying a few of the exercises from the exercise chapter. I had always known that golfers have back problems from overuse of their back muscles, but I've never known what to do about it, until now. Now, on my recurrent nightmare holes, I'm closer than I've ever been after the drive, and wondering what to do with the hook that's suddenly appeared after years of bannana balls. The author is a prominent orthopaedic surgeon who has also spent a few years on the pro golf circuit, so he knows the subject intimately. I've had my share of down time, and was strongly motivated to understand (and practice!) the many morsels of guidance from this pragmatic and experienced golfing doctor. This is not a book to just read.

A Perfect Shot

Review Date: 2006-08-04
Just the book for everyone you know who has ever thought of playing the game of golf. This sport is about skill and mental focus, but the etiquette of golf is something equally as important and which few of us pay the proper respect. Written in a simple style, the graphics made me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. But the information is key. The perfect gift book for every library.
