I have to admit I was a serious skeptic when I ordered this tape. I was a 1 handicap and my driver was holding me back from taking that next step up. I started with the driver tape and listened to it...Nothing. I then had occasion to visit my inlaws and one evening with nothing to do I layed in bed, and turned the lights down and listened to the tape. No kidding, I got a funny surreal feeling while listening to this tape. This was two years ago. I am now a +1 and the driver is my favorite and most trustworthy club. After seeing these results I bought the putting tape and I do believe it has made me a more confident and better putter. This tape is not magic. I put hard work into my game and much of the results can be attributed to that, however, I believe that if you listen to these tapes properly they do help. Properly is the key. I have found that I can listen to them over and over and most of the time it goes in one ear and out the other, however with the right setting (quiet and relaxed with no distractions) I find myself in a half sleep listening to the tape and when is is finished I can definatly tell this listening has affected me. Hope this helps.

This is a tremendous aid for your game.
The 27 minute tape produces a calm and confident state of mind. When you play you only need to use the 'trigger gesture' and it will produce confidence in putting.
After listening this tape I broke 80 for the first time. I don't hesitate to recommend this secret weapon to every golfer.

If you are at all interested in Jack Nicklaus and can't, by time or distance, visit his museum in Columbus, Ohio (on the campus of Ohio State University), then this book will be a nice visual replacement. Well organized, this book follows Jack's entire career as well as his relationships with his teacher, Jack Grout, his parents Charlie and Helen Nicklaus and his wife Barbara. Especially nice are several pages of reproduced "mementos" in cellophaned envelopes for easy retrival and review.
I would recommend this book highly to all golfers who have any admiration for the Golden Bear.

It sounds "trite" and simple to say it, but this book is a "must" for those who love golf and admire the qualities Jack Nicklaus brought to the game, talent, work ethic, competitiveness, success, and class. The epitome of what the game is meant to be.
There are other, more indepth, books on Jack Nicklaus, but this one has it all, enough to appreciate the man, who is, what he stands for and his journey, a journey that has been a credit to the game of golf and has inspired many of us who have followed his career and the values and principles he has demonstrated so effectivly.
There are many replica mementos, a letter from Tiger Woods, copies of his scorecards, Masters invitations and such that give this book a nice touch, a nice feel. Overall it is a comprehensive keepsake album of Jack, his career and the game of golf in his day.
Simply put: "A must" for those who love golf and admire the Golden Bear.

Jesus in my Golf Cart is a fasinating book with Jesus and occassionaly "Bub" (Satan) butting into the conversation to get his point across. Ms. Brown has caught the essence of religious belief that stays with a true believer as they go about their daily tasks or play.
This book provides insight into walking with Jesus and a few laughs besides. Who ever said Jesus didn't laugh?

Jesus in my Golf Cart is a humorous, yet down to earth chat with Jesus as the protagonist goes about her daily life. In this case it is playing golf. Bub (Satan) puts in his two cents worth from time to time, just as in life.
It is a book worthy of the author's faith and talent. It reminds one that whatever you go or whatever you are doing, all you have to do is ask Jesus what he thinks.
A fine inspirational piece of work.

Tough Material in First Class Performance

Let nobody fool you with adjectives about Cheever's fictional voice -- elegant, supple, crisp, resonant. Yeah it's all that, but if you have not encountered him before, you will be thinking in other terms -- unsparing, discomforting, perhaps even unforgiving. But listen to all these discs through, arranged from early stories to later -- through a variety of fine professional voices ending with Cheever's own refined rasp, for the last two stories -- before you make any judgments. It ought to take you several sittings; one story at a time may be all you can take. But by the end, you will likely want to eventually hear them all through, again.
Cheever, along with the somewhat younger John Updike, was thought of as the basic social chronicler in the short story form of his generation in post World War 2 years. That is somewhat misleading; the background for both is Protestant, or post-Protestant, east coast, upper middle class and aspiring higher. The two of them became known for what was called "the New Yorker story," which in itself will tell you a lot.
In Dante's Hell upon entry, a demon named Minos winds his tail the precise number of times to figure exactly how deep to drop you down to your earned level of damnation. A similar process happens very early in a Cheever story. A character, or the narrative voice itself, pitilessly fixes all others, in their sphere of vision, based upon the smallest nuance of voice inflection, diction, style of car or dwelling, choice of school, favorite drink, clothes or shoes. They are thus immediately damned in this world, and in a Hell particularly Calvinist (according to Cheever himself), without appeal except, perhaps, eventually to the reader's sympathy. Which some will gain, some not. In any event, they will still be wearing the same shoes at the end, of which fact Cheever will be certain to remind you.
In the early pieces, Cheever is a little uncertain on paper, a little jokey or cute but always entertaining and fascinating. Then he cools out real fast, and delivers stuff as good as the best of his predecessors in this genre, John O'Hara and F. Scott Fitzgerald. From then on his batting average is about as consistent as Lou Gehrig, too; the human toll of his endeavor is discreetly kept from the reader but apparently sounded in his personal life. State of the art performances by a catlike Merle Streep, the great Ed Hermann, serious Peter Gallagher, jovial George Plimpton, witty Blythe Danner move you soundly and at an even pace through all this material. But for all the pain in his voice, it is tremendously beatutiful when Cheever's own voice finally breaks surface on the last disc, in a clearly angry yet unbelievably controlled fit of passion, reading The Death of Justina -- a full frontal assault on modern corporate nonsense and social pretense. I certainly had never heard anything like it. Finally, a shade or two cooled off, Cheever closes the set with a reading of his mythic standard, The Swimmer.
Not for the feint-hearted, this mature set is as good as audio books get.

This audio-set collects 12 of Cheever's finest stories and recruits wonderful readers, including Meryl Streep, who is fantastic. Cheever has a gift for ripping the cover off of everyday life and getting at the emotional core. Many of the stories pack an emotional punch at the end as the reader gains a sudden and almost blinding insight into the emotional core of the lead character. The first and last stories of the collection ("The Enormous Radio" and "The Swimmer") are especially good at this. Some stories are funny -- like the "Chaste Clarissa" -- but most would have to be classified as "downers." Perhaps it is this dark edge that keeps Cheever from achieving some of the heights that Chekhov scaled.
Still, Cheever is at the top of the hierarchy of great American short story writers, along with writers like Sherwood Anderson and Hemingway. He's a little bit better at the short-story craft that any of his contemporaries.
George Plimpton is probably the only reader in this collection who will grate on you. Everyone else is absolutely great. My hats off to the publisher.

Gary Shemano gives tramendous insight into both the world of business and golf. I have read countless books on both topics above, but have never come to something as inriching as this. Gary has quite a way of interwinding the world golf and business, and then drawing conclusions that are complex, yet easy to understand. Kudos Mr. Shemano for giving the world what it has been in dier need for.

As soon as you start reading Chuck Hogan's insightful, humorous approach to golf, you know you're in the hands of a true master. He immediately lifts you far beyond the current myopic syndrome of golf as a game ruled by swing mechanics and stroke-saving gimmicks. Right away, you're on a fun-filled ride of revelation about how YOU work, how you can take creative control of your golf game and, by inference, the rest of your life as well. Instruction on golf mechanics is like teaching a child grammar and vocabulary, the physical tools of the game - which certainly has its place in the golfer's curriculum. But, as Chuck reveals in all his teachings, that's not the end but only a starting point for learning the exciting game of true golf. It's about re-discovering your own power to create what you want, instead of just endlessly wishing for it. His instruction is refreshingly sincere and unpretentious, filled with enlightening yet easily understandable ways to create a living masterpiece of your golf game . . . and yourself. Chuck has cooked up some of the finest golf soul food, and it's lots of fun, too - so take a big helping and enjoy.

This one is well worth the read. Not only is it quite inspirational, it is simply filled with wisdom. While the emphasis of corse centers around the wonderful game of golf and will certainly be enjoyed by both young and old golfers alike, it goes far beyond the game and could be throughly enjoyed by anyone, even if you never picked up a club. The book is a series of letters from a man to his son. They are the kind of letters all fathers should be able to write thier sons (and daughters, for that matter). Recommend this one highly. It is probably one you will want to add to your collection.

Addressing life from a golf perspective, Bob Duval does so in a series of letters. Mentoring friends, students, family and his father, he reveals that the only secret to the game is there is no secret.
His advice his tempered by his experiences and those related to him. Thus, this mentoring oozes with one poignant thought: play the shot that's in front of you.
The Duvals have had plenty of that medicine to swallow to teach them. Loss of son, of marriage, of love for the game. From that grit comes this mentoring sage.
Much in here to reflect on. Fascinating insights from inside the ropes to those of us on outside. Play on!
