The book The Adventure of Robin Hood is a great read. This Traditional Literature was written by Howard Pyle. This book is
full of action packed adventure. In this book is about an outlaw named Robin Hood that lives in Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood
and his merry band of men are very helpful by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. The sheriff of Nottingham doesn't
appreciate Robin Hood's good will. Will they achieve? I think this is a great book because they meet new people, the definitions
of Robin is very descriptive. I also think this is a great book is because at one of my family reunion's I saw it at the kid
table. I could not put it down. I think this book is great book for people who like action and adventure. This book is for
kids and adults of all ages.

Although Jiddu Krishnamurti fell short of Annie's hopes for a unity of world religions. this is still an interesting read
as you see more of Besant's political leanings mixed in with her theosophy. Enjoy!

Introducing young fans to the NFL teams in the AFC East

Notice that the cover of this look at the "AFC East" for the Inside the NFL Series has Travis Henry, still a running back
for the Buffalo Bills when this photograph was taken, being tackled by linebacker Tedy Bruschi of the New England Patriots.
Bruschi is not in uniform this season, having suffered a mild stroke after the Patriots won their third Super Bowl in four
years. The irony that neither player is playing for these teams this year is not what makes the cover appropriate, but that
these are the two northern most teams in the division. The only thing that would make the picture more appropriate would
be if Bruschi was tackling Henry in the snow up in Buffalo with each team wearing red, white and blue. The New York Jets
know what it is like to play in the snow, but the Miami Dolphins have to wonder what they are doing in this cold weather division.
In this introduction to the four teams of the AFC East, Bob Woods helps to explain why the Dolphins belong but the Baltimore
Ravens do not (although the explanation may well be less than satisfactory).
The story of the AFC East begins more with the AFL than the NFL, since three of the teams were original members of the AFL (guess which one was not). Woods overviews the division as providing some memorable first in pro football history: the Jets were the first AFL team to win the Super Bowl, the Patriots were the first team to win the Super Bowl on the final play, and the Bills had the first 2,000 yard rusher. The Dolphins? They are the first and only team to have a "perfect" record. This sense of history is what important in these books, because the assumption is that young fans know about Tom Brady and Chad Pennington, but they might not know the legacies of Joe Namath, Bob Griese, and Jack Kemp. The team histories are also more important because Travis Henry is not the only "current" player who is shown in the uniform of what is now his former team (although, as in the case of Ricky Williams and Vinny Testaverde, sometimes they actually come back).
Because these teams "only" go back to the old AFL, Woods does not have to go way back in the history of professional football, just to the days of "Cookie" Gilchrist, Babe Parilli, and Gino Gappelletti. Hopefully young fans will enjoy reading about the great players and teams of the past, and fans of the Buffalo Bills will learn about the back-to-back AFL titles they won in 1964-65 and not just the four consecutive Super Bowls they lost in the 1990s. More knowledgeable fans will find it ironic that besides Don Shula the only member of the undefeated Dolphins who gets his picture in the book is not Griese or Larry Csonka but Mercury Morris. But there are still plenty of familiar names from Jim Kelly and Dan Marino to Curtis Martin and Tom Brady.
The back of the book contains several pages of Stat Stuff, where you can see the relatively similar Team Records (the four teams have won 288 to 399 wins). There is a list of the Members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and AFC East Career Leaders (through 2002) for each team, where names from the past like Steve Grogan, Gary Yepremian, and Don Maynard are listed. There is also a Glossary of terms from "Achilles tendon" to "wild card," a Time Line from the AFL being formed in 1960 with the Bills, Titans, and Patriots to New England winning Super Bowl XXXVI in 2001, and a list of books and web sites where young fans can go For More Information about the AFC East and the NFL, with the emphasis on the latter (so if you want to find a book about the history of one of these teams, unless you are a Dolphins fan you have to keep looking). Still, this series does provide a solid starting point for young football fans to learn about the history of the game through the stories of these teams.

A Solid Book on Domestic Hedgehog Rearing, but Beware of the African Pygmy Hedgehog!

Mr. Kelsey-Wood has written a most useful book for those wishing to rear a domestic garden hedgehog. But surely he is mistaken
in suggesting that the African Pygmy Hedgehog can be raised safely in one's home? I have spent much of my life studying the
Aka pygmies in Northern Uganda, and I know that these timid jungle warriors fear no creature more greatly than the African
Pygmy Hedgehog.
African Pygmy Hedgehogs are so called not because of their size - they can grow to over four meters in length - but because of their diet, which consists largely of pygmies, or small children if no pygmies are to be found. The Aka refer to the beast, in their shrill clicking language, as `s'py qi'.
Like all hedgehogs the African Pygmy Hedgehog is nocturnal, and will approach its victims silently while they are asleep. Nuzzling up to the fattest, the hedgehog will begin to sway back and forth, as if in a trance. Then, with a grace that belies its mammoth size, the hedgehog carefully rolls over its hapless victim, impaling the chosen pygmy (or errant child) on its spikes, before hurrying back into the jungle to gorge on its bloody bounty.
I have witnessed this grotesque scene of carnage first hand in 1992 when, in the company of renowned pygmy scholar Colin Turnbull, I uncovered the lost pygmy city of `T'oit `oun'. On the very night of our discovery, Colin was very fortunate to avoid being impaled. If it had not been for a particularly plump pygmy guide sleeping next to him, it seems certain Colin would have been taken then and there. As it was his death would be more mysterious, and painful, as students of my lectures will be well aware.
In short: beware the African Pygmy Hedgehog. Especially if you are under the age of 12, or short in stature.

This book is inspirational! The stories of how some children have overcome devastating circumstances are very well written
and moving. The commentary offers insightful analysis, providing a good balance of dramatic stories and intelligent critique.
I highly recommend this book for the general public, as well as mental health and youth workers. In these uncertain times,
I found these stories particularly salient.

This is one of my favorite efforts. If you want to obtain a new perspective on the end-time which is respectful of the full
and final authority of the Bible, then I urge you to obtain this book. We are sure that you will find it both interesting
and challenging. Although we are indebted to the many great Christian expositors throughout the ages who, by God's grace,
have shed much light upon this subject, we have long observed that each of the most commonly held eschatological constructs
falls short in some way when held up to the light of all Scripture. This work is merely an attempt to draw us a little closer
in our quest to understand, as fully as we can, the nature of coming events. May God richly bless you in your continuing study.

Weightier books have been written on the subject, but Pat Kramer's ALASKA'S TOTEM POLES offer a difference: a format a little
under a hundred pages, packed with color, affordable, and accompanying color photo with stories about the totems and tips
on where to view them. As such, it's an excellent introduction which offers colorful, accessible information - perfect for
the general-interest library.

Edgar Wood's HISTORY OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY IN VIRGINIA is an excellent quide for family researchers whose ancestors lived in
Albemarle County. He covers the geography and history of the county, and includes account of varouis Albemarle families.
The appendix has a wealth of information for the genealogist. I highly recommend this book!
