Sudoku Iron ManReview Date: 2007-11-22
Certainly not fiendishly difficult!Review Date: 2007-12-03
The puzzles in this book are hardly even "difficult", much less fiendishly so. They are mostly what I call "fake difficult", which means that you have to do a lot of marking-up to find the one "secret", but after that the puzzle falls apart completely.
There are perhaps 10 out of 150 puzzles in the book that are well done and rewarding for experienced solvers.
If you are looking for puzzles that require advanced solving techniques, don't go for this book. The only advanced technique I ever used in it(and it might not have been required), is the so-called "Gordonian square" (If the corners of a square are 12, 12, 12, and 123, the odd number has to be chosen to avoid a non-unique solution).
Sorry, but I can't even recommend this book for less experienced solvers, because they will just be confused by the apparent difficulty. Not a good one, in my opinion.

A Thematic StudyReview Date: 2004-05-07
This book touches on specific incidents, such as the Algeciras and Portsmouth Conferences and the Alaskan boundary and Venezuelan crises, only in the context of what they reveal about the character trait of TR which is the subject of the particular essay.
This relatively short book stimulates thought about TR's character and his management of foreign policy. I recommend it for the serious student of TR, but only after a study his life through other sources.

Huge selection of Iron on TransfersReview Date: 2000-03-24
The patterns are large enough to be included on t-shirts or tote bags.
The patterns also do really transfer 3 to 5 times depending on the heat setting of the iron and material you are transferring to.
A nice surprise was an introduction that provided ideas and methods on where and how to use the iron on transfers.

Black Iron, by Ted MacKinnonReview Date: 2008-01-28
Black Iron is a well-plotted, fast-paced adventure featuring anthropomorphized wolves, tigers, otters, boars, and other animal nobility, merchants, scholars, and slaves. There is a bit of magic, but the action mostly involves 16th & 17th century swordfighting and early firearms. It is a standalone novel, not requiring familiarity with Scars or with the Ironclaw game.
