I like werewolfes... and seems to me that gay werewolfes are even better!

Dae is a vet and a weres. He is just out of a bad relationship with Jack, the cheating man. Apparently the only merit of Jack is his beauty face and the fact that Dae fears to remain alone. But in the end Dae has enough of the unfauthfulness of Jack and threw him out.

Sean is the assistant of Dae. He loves him but he has never reveal his feelings. When Dae is wounded in his wolf form is Sean who nurses him. And when Dae must admit his true identity, Sean take it very well: he loves either the man than the wolf.

But Jack wants Dae back...

This is a very short story (about 90 oages) but very intensive: Kiernan Kelly succeed in creating two complete characters with personal experience. Like in Riding Heartbreak Road (her former novel) the less fisical stronger character (Sean) is the most understanding of the two, the one that hold together the couple.

A very pleasant before sleeping reading.

I really enjoyed this book, and was delighted to find it at amazon.com since it wasn't in any of the bookstores I've ever visited. I especially enjoyed the elaborate descriptions of the marketplaces and caravanserais as Tamai traveled along the Silk Road to the Forbidden Empire. Still, I wish I had read the prequel, Flameweaver, first (although the plot is easy enough to follow with or without having read the original book).

_Realising I was underpaid gave me the gumption to move on_. wrote Ms Muriel Seibert describing some of the frustrations she faced as a gender-pioneer on Wall Street in this fascinating first-person account, CHANGING THE RULES.

Ms Siebert begins her journey, _When I left Cleveland with five hundred dollars and a used Studebaker just before Thanksgiving 1954, I had been away from home and family only once...But that one trip the previous summer was a vacation in New York City with two girl friends_. Nearly fifty years later, she is presenting her views on how to improve 401(k) retirement plans and individual retirement accounts (IRAs) directly to top goverment leaders in Washington D.C. and on 13 August 2002 at President Bush's Economic Forum in Waco, Texas, USA.

In between, Ms Siebert had an awe-inspiring career. Briefly, the highlights include first woman to purchase a seat on the NYSE (#2646, 28 Dec 1967) and first female Superintendent of Banking for the State of New York. as well as running her own brokerage firm to become the first self-made woman Billionaire for a day in February 1999.

Even with these lofty accomplishments, Ms Siebert presents a down-to-earth and pragmatic review of her career. Her dogged determination and unrelenting persistence is highlighted as she recounts the obsticles she overcame. Being first is not without its share of problems. As history has shown on innumerable occasions, an established majority is resistant to accept the usurping minority culture. Ms Siebert's challenges were primarily experienced through prejudices involving gender and religion (anti-semitism).

It is inspiring for me to read about her coping methods. Whether it is a humourous Hallmark Card or storming a table at a posh restaurant, Ms Seibert is standing up for what she believes. Yes, she does learn to choose her battles and to have another job before she threatens to quit, however, she makes modifications without jeoparding her integrity or her spiritual commitment.

I have learned that the one spiritual value that cannot be imitated is the act of giving. Ms Siebert writes that _Giving is more than an obligation, it's a privilege_. She backs up these words with a lifetime of giving: volunteer time at the Henry Street Settlement on Manhattan's Lower East Side early in her career, and a continuous record of providing financial opportunities throughout her business life. For example, she has established the Siebert Entrepreneurial Philanthropic Plan (SEPP) which contributes to charities 50 percent of the selling concession after clearing costs that she earns on new securites. In many cases, Ms Seibert explains, _the client choses the charity. It's a chance to share profits from this business with organizations serving the communities from which we receive new opportunities_.

In a time when the Attorney General of her own state is now revealing an unprecedented level of corruption and bankruptcy of ethics in the Mutual Fund Business, it is refreshing to read of a person on Wall Street who, after 50 years in the Business of Financial Services can write, _I sleep well at night, knowing that I've been competitive but honest, tenacious but scrupulous, tough, but fair_.

Broken Glass - Breaking Through

When Boel Maria Elisabet Junker was born on November 28, 1948, autism and autism awareness was then in its infancy. She appeared to develop normally within the first year of her life. Her older brother Sten and sister Lena welcomed her with open arms. Shortly after she turned one, her development appeared to come to a grinding halt. Doctors who treated her during her toddler days thought she might be deaf.

Early evidence of autism could be found in Boel's rigid insistence on eating only porridge until she got tired of it; humming to herself while rocking (which are classic Kanner's autistic behaviors) and virtually no speech development. A picture of Boel at two shows an adorable child with flowing, fair hair humming among the rye as the picture was captioned. At no time does Boel appear to make any eye contact in any of the pictures.

Boel shares this story with her younger brother Anders, who also showed cognitive delays. However, Anders born in 1955 does not have autism. He is described as not being "in a glass ball" like his sister because he has shown compassion. He has tried to comfort others. He is actively engaged with his siblings, Sten (b. 1941), Lena (b. 1944) and Ulrika (b. 1953). Anders and Boel, from the photographs are a study in contrasts; Boel rarely smiled and Anders was almost always smiling, dispalying a megawatt smile. He was described as having a very outgoing and winsome personality and that comes through in the photographs.

I love this rare gem of a book; Anders and Boel as well as their 3 other siblings provide real insight into life with autism and cognitive delays. By the book's close, Boel, then a pre-teen in 1961 (12 1/2) is enrolled in a workshop where she "works within the framework of her possibilities" and Anders thrives in a special school.

This is a beautifully written book; rich descriptions of the Swedish country side are applied to people, e.g. one mother was called a Varmland Pine. I like the inclusion of Swedish holidays and traditions; in one especially poignant account, Boel's brother Sten, then 14 talks to a special needs child about the St. Lucia play he saw during a holiday celebration. He talked to the other child as he would any peer and it is through his fair example that his own mother as well as others at Boel's school saw how his way of interacting proved beneficial.

What makes this book all the more unique and distinct is that it describes services in Sweden during a time when autism was just becoming recognized. It was not until 1943, the year Beatle George Harrison was born that Dr. Kanner coined the word "autism" to describe the sensory based behaviors and affect this neuro-sensory condition has on language and development.

I love the book and highly recommend it. It makes me think of the Doors' song, "Break On Through to the Other Side." Darn shame it has been out of print. I recommend this one along with Carolyn Betts' gem, "Label Me Jeff: A Special Kind of Normal," also issued as "A Special Kind of Normal," which is another mother's loving account of life with a child who has Kanner's autism.

Having a deep interest in all things Chinese, I couldn't wait for the release of Ruth Pennington Paget's newest book. China Hand doesn't disappoint! From her classmates' humorous "self-criticism" sessions to their much-anticipated arrival behind the Great Wall, you will relish all the adventures in this book. Although written from the point of view of a fresh-faced youth, don't let the young age fool you. Ruth proves you are never too young to be bitten by the travel bug! The fact that she was able to travel to China at a time when very few Westerners had ever been allowed into the country is nothing short of amazing. If you are thinking of traveling to China or are just interested in learning more about the Chinese culture, you should definitely give this book a whirl!

I read this book and I found it wonderfully written, perceptive and filled with theatrical and personal anecdotes. The biographical information about Oscar Hammerstein was riveting and shocking. Apparently, Barbara Hammerstein was married to Oscar's son and the revelations and insider knowledge are fascinating to those of us who grew up when Oscar Hammerstein was at the top of his game. She was a Polish immigrant who married into so-called American theatrical royalty and you get a close up glimpse of Oscar and his wife that very few people were privy to.

I also read her other book Amerkanskie Idioty and it talked about the author's lost family in Poland from the Second World War. Again, she has a wonderful style in her writing and you become enveloped in the story.

I am afraid that this is more of a review of the car than the book. The Citroen DS was nothing short of revolutionary when it was introduced in the mid 1950s. The hydraulic system, which one could use to raise or lower the car, was both a dream and a nightmare. It would turn into the latter when it sprung a leak, not an infrequent occurrence. Then the car would literally hunker down, the bodywork inches from the road and sit looking very much like a beached whale. Driving it in this condition was impossible and even in their heydey, when they were as rare in this country as the proverbial hen's teeth, there were precious few mechanics around who would even get close to a Citroen. Sadly, their faults discouraged many potential buyers and Citroen hang on in the U.S. by a string for several decades, finally abandoning the market in the early 1970s.

Now to the book: If you own a DS (or even if you don't but have desired one from afar), this is an invaluable guide to working on them in your own garage. Mind you, this is not a task for the faint-of-heart. Citroen, like the French themselves, could be extremely perverse. Do not be surprised if replacing the headlamps requires removal of the engine.
