Do you know who Rudy Bukich is? If so, you're the type of hard-core football fan who will love Peter King's Greatest Quarterbacks. If you're a football fan and the name of Mr. Bukich doesn't ring a bell, you'll learn a lot from this excellent book.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King is (in my humble opinion) tied with his colleague Paul Zimmerman for the title of America's No. 1 football writer. King provides a historical perspective that allows a comparison of great old-timers like Otto Graham and Sammy Baugh with today's stars like Brett Favre and Troy Aikman. King ranks the Top 50 quarterbacks in the history of the game and offers clear explanations for his selections.

I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the wealth of photographs provided in this book, which makes it a great gift idea for children who might not read the whole thing now but will surely treasure it for years to come. (I might just get an extra copy for my nephew.)

No football fan's bookshelf is complete without Peter King's Greatest Quarterbacks, the best football book to come along in years. As for the identity of Mr. Bukich, I wouldn't dream of giving it away here. You'll just have to buy the book.

Sandy Sullivan is a doll of an author, and in this book she certainly does not fail to disappoint! The book is an excellent history on some of the best and brightest years of Green Bay Packer's football. And she would certainly know it all since she was always right there on the sideline, in the locker rooms, and spending all sorts of time personally cheering on the team. If you are a Packer's fan then this book is certainly for you. You won't be able to put it down at night, and you will learn so much that you never even knew about the greatest era of football and the greatest football team in U.S. history...the Green Bay Packers! Yeah, go green and gold!!!!!!!

If you are a young Packer fan or are the parent of a young Packer fan, I would sincerely recommend this book. As the author and a Packer fan myself, I think the mixture of great photography and easy to enjoy text will appeal to backers of the Pack in particular, and football fans in general.

great book , a little short , but it tells you alot , like were the lambeau leap originated, and alot of other intresting things ,it starts off from the beggining of the franchise , to the present day .this book only has 96 pages however , that is the only bad part .it also tells you about hwo the packer fans are the most faithful and about the love they have for the team . this book is great for any young packer fan who doesent know much about the team . i highly recommend this book.

While this is a detailed book about Mercer college football. It is actually much more than that. It may not be a history of college football, but it gives an insight that a broader history probably would not. I enjoyed the book and learned much, but I did not read every word. I skimmed (or even skipped) game reviews when they were one among many and of course you can do the same or read every word if you like. The author relied mostly on newspaper accounts, but he was also able to interview a coach and some players to give mored depth to the story. I bought the book on impulse super cheap someplace and you can do the same. At the remainder price it is certainly a worthwhile read.

This 300 page book covers a "Century of Polish-Americans in College Football". The author compiles a list of 3 All-American teams in the first few chapters and then covers All-Americans, coaches, and academic award winners. One surpise lists Dan Marino (his mother was Polish) on the third team. Three Polish-Americans have won the Heisman Trophy: Johnny Lujack (Notre Dame), Leon Hart (Notre Dame), and Vic Janowicz (Ohio State).

The book is essentially a compilation of bios on individual players and is a fascinating read.
