Motorcycles Books

While this is not as complete as I would like it to be it is still a valuable resource if you are chopping and rewiring or trying to wire a kit bike from scratch.

My son is obsessed with motorcycles and there aren't many books out there for toddler aged kids with motorcycles in them. I picked up Hugo's Motorcycle Rescue a few days ago, and I've been forced to read it to him no less that 50 times, our son absolutely loves it. It's a fun little story with nice illustrations. The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is that the glue on the cover started to separate from the book on the 1st day we had it, now the cover easily falls off.

This book, written by Tom Madigan, is a great insight into the career of Bob "Hurricane!" Hannah, one of America's top motocrossers. It documents his early years, his rise to fame as a Yamaha factory rider and laterly for team Honda & Suzuki.
Lots of previously unseen photo's and comments from his friends, mechanics and fellow racers.

Who can ever live without a book by 60's protest singer Barry Mcguire? Well, I couldn't since I own this book. It is a novel written about a group of bikers who come to know God. It was written in the early 90's. The only reason I reviewed this book, is because when I first heard of it I wondered, "Is this the same Barry Mcguire that recorded 'Eve of Destruction?'" So now you know, it is!

This is not a book for those looking for barely clad biker babes or exciting stories of the open road. Harry Sucher makes a detailed study of the rise of motorcycling and the inevitable problems caused by too many manufacturers. If you want to know about the players and how they shrank to the Big 3 (Harley, Indian and Excelsior) and then to just one lone American eagle, this is the book for you. Sucher also gives the background of the rise of the American Motorcycling Association, from its first roots as the Federation of American Motorcyling (FAM). The chicks are scantily clad. The bikes are sick. What else could you really ask for in a calender?

Good to have habging around your office or garage!! Definately won't hurt your eyes If you look close you'll see that theres motorcycles there too! LOL

What can I say about this book? I have all but one or two of Mick Walker's books, and all are worth having and reading. This book is the perfect complement to "Japanese Grand Prix Racing Motorcycles" also by Mick Walker. This volume is full of historical information (perhaps even too much in some respects) and great period black and white photographs. I gave it four stars rather than five only because I wish it had gone into more detail regarding Kawasaki (my favorite make but also a major contributor to motorcycle racing) and the lack of color photographs. All or most of the photographs within the book were undoubtably color to begin with, and I would spend the extra money for full color. Aside from my the personal preferences I noted, "Japanese Production Racing Motorcycles" is worth the money and adding to anyone's collection.

good manual. Not everything is in color. Pictures and instructions a bit vauge for a noob

Decent manual, its got pictures and pretty good descriptions of the task at hand. what can i say, its a repair manual. its as good or better or worse as any other manual.
It does however make a Fantastic drink coaster. when i am not using it, it sits on my work bench and absorbs the moisture from my frosty cold beverages. ill give it 5 stars as a "Work bench Keeper Dryer".
