Cleaning Books

I have read this book to my kids and I must say the artwork REALLY jumps off the page. The colors are great and the story is one I can really identify with, with my kids. I hope to see more Kamish books out there, I'm so tired of the sam old "Cat in the Hat" books, this is finally a childrens book I enjoy reading as much as my kids.

I liked this book because the drawings look like how I draw. I also like this book because his house sounds like my house. I like how he cleaned up his room by using his imagination. Diggy Dan has a neat way of talking. I think lots of boys my age(I am 8) would like this book. I wish that they would make more books like this.

Excellent story, pulls at your heart strings. Reading this book will have you realize that the suffering brought on by a parent, family, or friend is etched in stone in the victims minds. Its a strong victim who survives the sickness of this abuse. To be able to keep his mind, and live a life with success, and above all to have a open warm heart. God bless the author for his bravery in telling the story.

This book is extremely well put together, the story grabs you and keeps you guessing? This work of fiction brings you to tears in some areas and has you rolling on your side laughing in others. You learn about Kevin and his hard life. You will feel for this character!!! It makes you realize how important responsibilty is! A must read for anyone who had a difficult childhood or who knows someone who has!

This is a must have for anyone who is overwhelmed by clutter. The book is broken down into small, easy to use sections dealing with specific problem areas. Need help with your dresser drawers? There is an easy to read 2-3 page section on just that. It is like a cookbook to organize your house. My husband is thrilled with how organized our house is becoming. I have seen many books on organization, but this one that breaks it down into easy to manage pieces and teaches you a system to keep you clutter under control.

This book has been my home management bible lately... you wouldn't believe the difference in my home... from piles of paper to kids' toys to clutter - clutter - clutter... now I can manage it quickly and easily. This isn't the kind of book you read cover to cover... it's more like a recipe book for every area of your home.

This book is terrific! It provides practical and helpful information based on the author's personal experience as well as tales and hints she has collected from numerous other travelers. It's well written, entertaining and a must read for unsophisticated shoppers like me who may be planning a trip and wanting to bring something back without being taken to the cleaners. Ms. Borrus tells you what to buy and where as well as how to get the best price. I already devoured my copy of her book and I was just logging on to order more copies to give to family and friends as going away presents.

Books on travel and shopping are typically tomes containing many boring and only somewhat useful facts. "The Fearless Shopper" is not your typical travel guide. The book is filled with engaging stories and important information. Moreover, Borrus' prose is gripping and exciting. Ultimately, "The Fearless Shopper" is never dull and always captivating.

I've had this book for four years. I leave it on my kitchen table for guests to browse. Most everyone will end up reading at least 2-3 excerpts to whomever may be within ear-shot. They love it! It's definately a conversation starter. I plan on purchasing it for friends and family this Christmas.

As a parent, I try my best to create a home environment which is happy, healthy and safe for my family. The ideas I came across in this book have helped me in my efforts to do just that. From tips on eco-friendly cleaning, to food storage, from saving energy to nutrtitional tips... it has a little bit of everything! It is well written, easy to read - and a great book to keep on hand to refer to later on. It is the type of book which gets you thinking... and has you looking at your kitchen, and even the rest of your home... in a whole new light!

I bought this book when it had just come out and I was newly married. Ive used it so much that it is in tatters, but I still treasure it. The information and illustrations of storage closets, kitchens, general home layouts, etc. are still as useful and inspiring today as they were back in the 1950s. Their sections on choices and care of products for the home: floors, etc are still valid. Their discussions of time and motion techniques in cooking, house cleaning, bed making, etc. are outstanding. I still refer to it frequently. This book is like a dear old friend and has influenced my life for 50 some odd years. It is one of the 9 or 10 most influential and treasured books that I own.

Written during the height of the best of Mid 20th Century consumer progress, this reprint is full of still-valid ideas, with the remainder for just looking in wonder at times gone by. In this book, Russel and Mary went to great lengths to explain everything that they believed was important to orchestrating successful home engineering and economics. It's fun to read, and the original illustrations are stylized and tongue-in-cheek. It's fantastic that this book has been reprinted, so its wisdom and guidelines can educate and possibly downscale some of the pseudo-modern pretentiousness of our contemporary lifestyles, via the true modernism of the past that is expressed in the Wright's text. For instance, the mainstream 21st Century over-stuffed attitudes of living in contrived luxury, look bloated and phoney compared to the Wrights' explanations of pared-down but comfortably designed home decorating and economics; i.e., think modern, lightweight, artistic, and easy to maintain -- not necessarily "cheap" or severely spare. Their message was to have fun, make your house look beautiful, and do it intelligently with as little extraneous pomp and flounce to clean as possible. Great advice for the 21st Century!

Many good ideas and well-know recipes in France, but I learned new stuff anyway and I think this book is very useful to save money and spare our planet.
I am also a big fan of Cabbages & Roses which belongs to the author. It is very English, beautiful, handy, useful, smart, clever as is this book.
The pictures are cool and beautiful (even if the paper is recycled) and the explanations so simple and easy to use.
I recommend strongly, by hoping people will be more aware of the importance of sparing and being "more natural".

This book was so interesting that I am ordering 3 more copies for each one of my sisters. I actually am now using only natures products to clean my home such as vinagar, lemon, and baking soda. I have honestly thrown away all the chemical cleaning product under my sink and I'm washing my clothes with baking soda and vinagar. Believe me this book can change a persons life just reading the 1st two chapters.

This is a "must own" book for anyone in the pest control industry. Each chapter is filled with useful insights and sound practical knowledge. Nearly ever facet of pest control concievable is covered by a host of world wide authorities. The collection of contributing authors is superior...every one is a legend in his own right. Note: this is a HUGE book, it is a little cumbersome to hold. Perhaps when the 9th edition is released it will be a two-volume set.

Louise Gruenberg's Herbal Home Hints is incredibly useful and well written. Her formulas are wonderful tools for cleaning naturally with herbs. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in herbalism and natural cleaning and home beautification ideas.

This book helped me clean everything around the house naturally and organically! Louise's writing style is humorous and whimsical. I highly recommend it.

This book has educated me on so many things from identifying problems with my heat pump to problems with the fridge to leaks in the dishwasher It is such a helpful guide. By referring to this book it has saved me a fortune in repairs.
