Great Tips on How to succedd in your careerReview Date: 2004-01-26
It references stuff like the 8 commandments for selling people on your ideas, and the 7 Deadly Workplace Sins and how to overcome them.
This is definitely a must read book.
A book for even those who "know it all"Review Date: 2004-02-04
The content is surprisingly complete. When skimming the Table of Contents, the topics did not seem comprehensive. But after reading this book, the important things were covered; including sensitive areas that are usually not discussed.
I appreciate that much of the content is in comic strip format. I know, I know, this doesn't sound good. But I have so many books that I've started and stopped because I don't have time to read it all. So it's very gratifying to get through the content of the book in one evening.
In summary, I learned some important stuff from this book and know that I can return to this book for reminders and details. Five stars!

Large List of Pitfalls - Short on SolutionsReview Date: 2008-07-31
I bought this book for all my clientsReview Date: 2008-09-01
Her book has been an invaluable resource. In short, applying what she has written to my work has resulted in MUCH MUCH happier clients. The book is so easy to get your head around, and if you are looking for strategies to really get things rocking along, you'd be mad not to read it. You'd be even madder not to mold her ideas to fit your situation and then action them.
I was fortunate enough to observe one of her seminars here in Tokyo, and then join her afterwards for drinks with my manager, Ian Cross. I've read, seen and heard wads of charlatans, as we all have - however, Kimberly is the real deal. No grandeur or bollox, she genuinely cares about the success of the people she works with, and she knows her stuff.
I have bought copies to present to all my clients not only on the strength of what she has written, but also because I can vouch for who she is and what she is about.
If you are in any business which has clients, and you put these principles into action, you will be stunned at the results.

Your "E-Coupon" Ride Through Project ManagementReview Date: 2008-07-18
SCRAPPY PROJECT MANAGEMENT is as much about who we can be as it is a humorous and practical Baedeker to project management practice. As you are pulled into it, you gradually discover that the "project" is "you" as much as anything else.
Any well-accomplished project - and "you" work - will involve bumps, overwhelming joy, lurches, sheer terror, excitement, and likely a couple of barf bags. You must be this tall to ride but if you are, SCRAPPY PROJECT MANAGEMENT is the book for you.

Tango is so worth the effort of learning and doing.Review Date: 2007-02-03
This is one of the best of many books on the subject of life transformation experienced by a very large number of people outside of Buenos Aires.
Highly recommended.
However, it has even greater meaning when you have attempted the Argentine Tango.
So, hug a partner and dance with your heart.
Abrazos!

comparison of female/male energy to tango is a thought provoking, but compelling theory filled with accuracy. I couldn't put this book down .
It's About the ConnectionReview Date: 2005-12-20
I recommend this book to anyone, either you are dancing tango or not; it's short and very easy to read. And if you don't find a nice dance technique suggestion in it, you might find something that would be applicable in your every day life in a relation with your significant one or friends, or colleagues at work.
Understanding the Power of BalanceReview Date: 2005-05-16
As the result of "feminism", we can enjoy a fairer balance of power with men, but what femininity is still remains a complete mystery to us. The book dares to praise passivity, surrendering and following, and reminds us that those words can still carry derogative connotations. At the same time it tells us about male and female energies present in each one of us and with that, it frees us of limiting patterns of behavior.
Dancing Tango is a beautiful way to play, rehearse and observe how we are as women and men. The Tao of Tango refers to it in a provocative, measured and grounded way.

Dance Tango, Be WholeReview Date: 2006-01-17
On the surface, Tango is rooted in the sensuality and seduction that goes on between a man and a woman. But deeper things are going on. As Ms. Seigmann discovered, it is a conversation "in some language of the soul that resided in some part of me I never knew existed."
Drawing on key principles of Taoism, Ms. Siegmann shows how all people, whether men or women, are mixtures of characteristics that are either yang (masculine) or yin (feminine), and in order to be successful, in either Life or in Tango, each person must have these energies in balance within themselves. Yet in our post-Feminism world, this is rarely the case, for either gender. Johanna Siegmann discovered, as have many others, that learning to tango is much more than learning a new dance.
In order to dance tango properly, whether we are a man or a woman, we must be in touch with both our halves, both the confident masculine part, and the sensitive feminine part. Per Ms. Siegmann, "True happiness lies in the mutual embrace of both our [masculine and feminine] energies." Only when we can draw on both these qualities will our tango have the deep character for which it is so justly revered. In a real sense, it is a journey of self-discovery and healing. We find that, whether interacting on the dancefloor or in a Life relationship, having our energies in balance promises nothing less than a resolution of the age-old "battle of the sexes."

A Must-Have for All Horse OwnersReview Date: 2007-04-12
Excellent book !!Review Date: 2007-03-05
The basis for all relationships with our horses is communication. Gincy explains clearly how to read what your horse is saying to you and how to clearly communicate your instructions to him.
This book, like Gincy's others, is full of Gincy's very perceptive insights into equine behavior and motivation. At the same time, she generously cites highlights from the work of other successful trainers and instructors. She totally understands and loves her subject. She isolates each 'problem' or unwanted behavior, explains what it means and not only tells us how to change it but also what not to do.
For the beginner, this book provides a ready reference to cover hundreds of situations that arise in our day to day association with our horse or pony. For the experienced horse person, it is a compendium of knowledge that is so far unequaled in training literature.
Aside from all that, it is an entertaining read.

The Only Communications Book You Need!Review Date: 2003-05-24
Poor communications is the problem that holds humanity back from making progress more than any other. Think of it as being like a stalled engine that would otherwise pull your car forward at whatever rapid pace you like. Overcome that stall, and progress will be yours.
Because of the importance of improving communications, I have made it a point to read every book about communications that I can find. Most of these books provide an in-depth look at one aspect of communications, while ignoring all of the others. Many times, communications books are not as simple and direct as they could be. Other times, they lack compelling stories.
I can think of few elements of effective communications that are not covered by Dr. Lampton's superb book, with Neuro-Linguistic Programming being the main exception. As a result, a person can read and employ the lessons of The Complete Communicator and have the benefits of reading many dozens of other books. For that reason, I think The Complete Communicator is the best communications book I have read.
Here are the subjects covered:
Person to Person (including self-talk, making connections, getting information, finding prospects for a business, and deepening relationships)
Nonverbal Communication (gestures, appearances, symbolism, and credibility)
Writing (the writing process, things to emphasize and avoid, getting published and improving your writing)
Letter Writing (following up on meetings, complaints, answering complaints, and avoiding errors)
Giving Speeches (the right mental attitude, preparation, expressing yourself naturally, touching the audience and making the right impression)
Listening (what those who are speaking would like you to do, questions to ask, appropriate responses, and ways to improve)
Telephone (good habits, etiquette, succeeding through voice mail, and keeping notes on messages)
Computers (e-mail, Web sites, and Internet connections)
Media (keep it simple and effective, getting booked on broadcasts, handling crises, and letters to the editor)
Many people who try to write such an overview book fail to either properly credit their sources, don't have enough examples or make the book too long. Dr. Lampton avoids all of those snares.
To me, the best writers tell stories that grab me emotionally. Dr. Lampton did that very well with stories from his own experiences. I especially liked one about a telephone message that he read from his Ph.D. advisor.
What more can I say to convince you to read this book? Please, contact me by e-mail with any questions. Click on my name at the beginning of this review to find my e-mail address.
