This book is a must have. It dispells myths and has current up-to-date information on diets, using sugar sweetners (splenda,aspartame etc) great ideas on how to lower cholesterol, foods that are high in carbs, vitamins, fats, minerals etc. Great to use for teaching purposes as well.

This book was not required but highly recommended by my professor for my class. It's worth the money. Easy to read and understand. Get this book if you want to learn about nutrition (whether in a nutrition class or not) in a clear and understandable manner!

First, the installation of this software was a breeze and very quick. The application interface is brightly colored and completely user friendly. It includes a tutorial by Peterson himself, a skill building game that helps sharpen your identification skills, and the ability to add multiple life lists. The life list feature was very easy to use and was the selling point for me. The software also provides direct online access to Peterson Online for great information. You will send hours browsing the nearly 1000 bird species presented in color photographs including Peterson's unique arrow system. Once you select the bird, detailed information about breeding, range, sound and other information is presented. I've seen software packages that cost an outrageous amount, but this very low priced software is a really a gem.

This is a great way to learn about birds. You can view thebird, listen to his voice, and find out where he lives. The skillbuilder portion allows you to identify the bird. What a great challenge!

This is an excellent resource. The illustrations and photographs are wonderful. Carolyn is not afraid to use actual photographs of male and female genetalia....how refreshing! There is nothing worse than medical text using drawings. In real life you will being dealing with the real thing....why not see the real thing in your textbooks! Beyond that...this book is very easy to read and understand. This is a book to keep and use well after you get out of college.

I am a first year nursing student and I must say this book has been an excellent reference guide. No more lugging around huge nursing books for reference purposes. The book is clearly worded and is illustrated to help the beginner. The organization of the book is excellent as well, allowing you to find what you need to know in a hurry without having to flip through hundreds of pages found in bigger books. An excellent guide for anyone in the healthcare profession.

A couple of years ago, I got Podcast Solutions and was really impressed with its' overall content. For its' time. Of course, with everything on the web, practically everything changes and thus, a new edition of this book had to be released. And it's still probably the best book out there. Lots of updated information on how to create, edit and upload podcasts and for the most part, do it on the cheap since if you're really looking to make a million bucks doing this, keep looking. Lots more stuff on video which has truly taken off thanks to YouTube and similar sites and newer ways to promote and get advertisers to your site. You'll also learn how to use WordPress and similar blogs and create a podcast site as a result. That's what I did with one of my clients. Not as thick as the Bibles out there but at least you won't get a hernia trying to lift it. You should be getting ideas for your own (or your clients own) podcasts within minutes of surfing thru this book.

Yes that's right, this is the perfect book for any and all podcasters. If you are a podcaster, or want to be one or just want to find out what it's all about buy this book.

The title says it all; Podcast Solutions. Chock full of info, written concisely, humorously, intelligently, informatively and in language that anyone can understand (even me) this is the one book to buy on the subject. It takes you step by step down the road to conceiving, creating, recording, producing and profiting from your show idea. This book covers every nook and cranny of the considerable field of information on both podcasts and vodcasts.

I personally have used both editions of this book to help me get my podcast going as well as optimizing it once it was up and running. What I really enjoyed about this book is how the authors explain things so that not only do you know what to do next but also why it works. Not only that there are many highlighted sections where the authors share a personal experience that really drives a point home. This brings the whole process into very sharp focus.

And their personal experience goes way beyond the technical aspects of podcasting and vodcasting. On page 85, for example, they share a tip that is critical to anyone who really wants to make effective communication with their material. And that is this; "speak as if you are speaking to one person". That one piece of advice can turn a blah and lifeless presentation into one with depth and impact. This book is loaded with tips like that.

I can't say enough good about this book. Without it I may not have gotten my podcast going. The two guys who wrote it have been doing this since it began and they know all the tricks. Don't think about, just buy the book. You'll thank me and more importantly you'll thank the authors Dan Klass and Michael W. Geoghegan.

Funny that I have to rate this book if only in theory. I'm sure it would have been worth all 5 stars except, when I had trouble ordering it, I wrote to the author who said, "It was never written." Having spent hours listening to his podcasts and receiving his advice I can tell you that Jason knows about podcasting. He knows all the tricks to making your podcast sound like it was recorded professionally in a studio. He has also written another book on promoting your podcast that I would highly reccommend.

There's quite a few thorough looking books out there for podcasting, and the main reason I bought this one was due to its recent release date more than anything else. Usually, how new something is does not matter to me, but with technology it's an entirely different matter as the websites I choose to send a podcast to may change their requirements and expectations every couple of years. I work with a great IT guy but I often get lost just a few minutes into his explanation of things so I knew that I had to get some resources or I'd never be able to do a podcast on my own. Audacity just isn't all that tech ignoramus friendly (although the price is right!) so I was pleasantly surprised by the Podcasting Bible. They begin with Audacity and introduce a site called PodOmatic which is something I never heard of before opening these pages. There you can get free server space for audio files and attract listeners. Considering the amount of "oomph" in this dense how-to guide, I'd say that the price is quite reasonable.

This is a great book for beginning students. It comes with a CD to accompany you. The music is easy enough to help you reinforce note reading. I like this book so much I will be buying more books in this series. Very well written so you can't lose!

This book follows book 1 of the Hal Leonard Adult Piano Method but can be used as a supplementary book for any piano method. The authors have picked 12 pop hits - both old and new - and arranged them for solo piano. The CD or MIDI disk also has fun accompaniments for each piece. Songs include 'My Heart Will Go On,' 'Y.M.C.A.,' 'Fun, Fun, Fun,' and 'Strangers in the Night.' The arrangements are basic enough to improve/add on to if you wish. The authors also offer a suggested order for learning the songs.

Practical Intranet Security is a clear and concise book that covers the range of today's authentication and authorization technologies. I was particularly impressed with the discussions on SESAME - this was the first book that makes the goals and design of SESAME clear. It also provides good introductory material on network security and cryptography. As an experienced professional, I have found the book useful to see how others have addressed problems in the development of security protocols.

I found the book to offer a great mix of practice "how to" type of advice for application level security integration. It is also to be commended on also explaining the concepts of what is to be achieved first.

The author has an elegant yet straightforward style, as she recounts a "big" story set in a disarmingly charming small town. She interweaves the broad political story with very human and personal vignettes. The result is a book that is easy to read, hard to put down, and will linger in your thoughts long afterwards.

As a straight person with many gay friends, I could not help but to be touched by Quinn's passion for the civil rights issue going on in regards to gay marriage. She somehow managed to take a hot, controversial topic and turn it into a well-written story that anyone would enjoy. Her humorous style of writing coupled with the seriousness of the issue make this a delightful and exciting book. A must read!
