An interesting guide to the use and history of these particular cards and practice.
For someone that doesn't know a lot about it, probably even better, as it is certainly not too esoteric or mystical for your general person.
Also some bits and pieces of numerology and Kabalah later on the book, to look at some related subjects and uses.
Certainly worth a read if you want to find out something about this subject.

This book is great for anyone who is interested in reading tarot cards. It gives an in depth explanation of each of the cards as well as some of the different spreads. The author gives examples of readings he has done with the different spreads and goes into the religious aspects of some of the different spreads. This book is great for beginners and would be useful for veteran readers as well.
Best Tarot book IMHO

This book has been in print many times. In fact, it was written a full two years before I was born.
When I wanted to learn about using the Tarot in a serious manner, this book was my Tarot primer. Now, since then, I've read many other books that have helped me learn even more about the Tarot, such as Joan Bunning's Learning the Tarot: A Tarot Book for Beginners, but this one remains the simply best book I've used. It gives the clearest, simplest meanings that anyone can learn if they just study the book as if it were a textbook on the Tarot that went with an actual class. It also gives a short history of the cards, as well as fully explaining the Major and Minor Arcana, three different ways to read them, and some other wonderfully detailed information that will enrich your readings of the cards.
I honestly recommend this book to anyone who knows nothing about the Tarot but wants to make a serious study of the cards and how to read them. In the book, it uses the Rider-Waite/Universal Waite deck to depict the cards. This is the most well-known deck, but there are many others to choose from. Amazon has many to choose from when you're ready to start being a Tarot reader. My pick would be, if you like the representations in the book, the Universal Waite, which uses more watercolor-looking colors than the Rider-Waite, but the essence of the pictures are the same. (I personally use the Cosmic Tarot Deck (78 Tarot Cards/Cs78).)
Also, if you wish to study further, pick any of Miss Gray's other Tarot books and read them. She is expert in her information about the cards. I very highly recommend any Tarot book by her, but read this one first.

My two-year-old niece insists that her mother and grandmother read this book to her several times a day. When I went to visit, I saw this book and immediately remembered enjoying it as a kid. Our neighbor read it to me to comfort me one day when I was upset because my dad had locked his keys in his car, we were locked out of the house, and I was upset because I had stepped in a puddle and my pants were wet to the knee. (I think I must have been 5 or 6 at the time) Mom tells me the neighbor read me this book while we waited for her to come home with her keys and let us back in the house, and it calmed me down.

This one was another "Busted-Gut/Soggy-Pants" one for me! Man! I really loved the Chapters on Europe & Going To Disney World (his map of Florida is hilarious) and his idea for "Dave World". He has a good point that the most popular Amusement Park rides are the crazy ones that make you puke ('The popularity of a ride is directly proportional to how horrible it is. There's hardly every a line for a nice relaxing ride like a Merry-Go-Round. But there's a huge crowd...consisting of mostly teenagers...waiting to go on something with a name like "The Dicer", where they basically strap you in a giant food-processor, turn it on and phone the paramedics'- DAVE BARRY). His messing with non-English phrases is loads of fun (and Canada's English-French system get a great 'Dave Barry Treatment' as well, not that I have anything against Canadians). Well, if you need some serious laffs whilst stuffed like a sardine on Flight 321 to Bangkok, Dave's your man!
One of his best!

Irreverent, "inaccurate" look at travel in the US and abroad. If you've ever traveled by car, flown in an airplane, visited foreign countries, camped with friends or family, you will find this book hilarious. Barry has a keen insight into the traps and pitfalls of modern-day travel and expresses it in an outrageously funny manner.

Many in America are familiar with Dave Barry. I don't know anyone in Ireland or the UK who's ever heard of him. i have introduced my mother to him. She is a writer and appreciates good humour. I think she wasn't expecting him to be quite so funny though. When I said he is hillarious, I was not over reacting. I was pleasantly surprised to see her nearly fall over in histerics. Humour is good for the soul. Dave Barry is good for the soul. This book covers travel across all of the states, many European countries, Scandanavia, some parts of Asia. For his own reasons, Dave has catalogued some countries together... either his summary of one was so similar to many others, or he was so unimpressed he was lost for words! Either way, you'll enjoy this. How could you not?!

First thing I do whenever my health isn't what I want it to be is look up what vitamins Dr. Atkins recommends and it what dosages.
It's never failed me. May not work as quickly as prescribed medication, but in the end has the same effect and a lot healthier.
Cannot recommend this book more strongly.

This book covers uses for various supplements that are not always covered by other vitamin books.
The information is very helpful, but a few things are a little out of date, mostly because of what was or wasn't available when the book was written.
Overall, a good addition to your nutrition library if you're interested in using supplements or knowing more about what certain nutrients do.

Because of my allergies and asthma, I was on Zyrtec, Advair, and had to carry an albuterol inhaler everywhere I went. I did the diet some years ago and it worked well. After seeing this book somewhere I decided to give it a try.
After reading this book I thought he Dr. Atikin's lost it this time. There are a lot of vitamins he wants you to take. Plus he started selling his own line of vitamins so I thought "ahhh, that's why." I talked to my doctor about it and he said it wouldn't work, you would just be wasting money because your body will piss it all away (literally). I was spending $150 on medications, the vitamins were about $20, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Well, I tried it, and it worked. I felt a lot better, and I didn't need to take the medications anymore.

I am a professional who has been reading and studying the field of supplements. This book is the best that I have come across. Not only is it the most complete, but the supplements in it were used in Dr. Atkin's clinical practice. This is were the rubber hits the road, and the concrete real life information that gives this book credibility. If I were to buy only one book on this subject, it would be this one, even over the encycolpedia type books.

Action, suspense, history, and spiritual warfare are combined here to make this a very enjoyable read.
Expiration Date features Clay Ryker who is experiencing major difficulties in all areas of his life: his marriage, business, parents, friends, and spirituality. The author does a good job of weaving together a story containing lots of twists and turns along with some spiritual truths.
This novel contains some characters from Eric Wilson's previous novel, 'Dark To Mortal Eyes'. It will keep the readers interested from start to finish.

A well-written and fascinating blend of supernatural, historical and gritty reality.
Clay Ryker is struggling with the baggage of lies believed and sin-scorched failures. I ached for him as he continued in his downward spiral of confusion.
But what is at the root of his confusion? And what would he do with this cursed gift he's been given?
Expiration Date blends intriguing history, life-like characters and a tight plot into a compelling read.

I liked Dark to Mortal Eyes; I loved Expiration Date. I am officially hooked on Eric Wilson's writing after reading this novel.
Expiration Date draws on the history of the Romanov family and the Bolshevik Revolution in a thrilling story about fate, free will, and divine intervention. The book tackles the question that everyone asks at some point: is the future written in stone, or is it determined by our choices - or is it perhaps a mixture of both?
When Clay Ryker discovers that he is suddenly able to foresee the day a person will die, he takes it upon himself to use his newfound knowledge to save lives - if that's possible. Unwittingly, he becomes mixed up in a battle for an ancient relic that may be a clue to the fabled treasure of Rasputin. In order to protect this relic and save the life of its finder, a young boy named Kenny, Clay must face the demons of his past that he has tried to hide for years.
Expiration Date is masterfully written, whether you're looking for philosophical insight or just a good read. May cause spinning thoughts, sleep loss, and shortage of breath.

Expiration Date is the second book in the senses series and explores the sense of touch. It has an interesting premise, and is quite enjoyable to read. It extends some of the loose ends left from Dark to Mortal Eyes, but does not completely answer all the questions. The use of Russian history as the back drop to many of the character's motivations is quite intriguing. At times I felt like I was getting a very enjoyable history lesson about the Czars and Rasputin. My only complaint was the lead character Clay Ryker was written too well. He behaved and acted exactly as someone in his position should and does. However, for someone, like me, who has little patience for self-pity, he began to grate on my nerves just a little. Once Clay starts acting and thinking rather than sulking, he is very likable. This is a compliment to the author for writing a believable, human character. The issues that Clay faces are some that many people today deal with--divorce, failure, their past, poor decisions, family tension, etc. He's someone we can all relate too and sympathize with. The supernatural elements in the book are vivid and remind me a bit of This Present Darkness. I look forward to the third sense book and hope it is published soon.

Eric Wilson has to be one of the best authors around today. This book is the second in a planned 5 part series. It is about Clay Rykker a man going through a divorce who moves back home and is given the ability to foresee the day someone will die. Clay tries to find out if this is a blessing or a curse while trying to save those whose expiration date he knows. It deals with the struggles that he is going through. This book has great character devolopment and you can so relate to what they are dealing with. It also has a great ending that leaves you wanting more of this series. It does bring back a couple of characters from Dark to Mortal Eyes which I would recommend reading first. Eric Wilson just keeps getting better with every book that he writes.

His material is extremely valuable, and he absolutely walks his own talk. He teaches you how to get Free Publicity, and then, when he's speaking, he GIVES you Free Publicity. He gets it, and he's out there sharing it. I'm a fan, and I don't even watch TV (don't tell him this.)

A big part of promoting your product, books in my case, is PR. I have made contacting the press, writing press releases, and following up a regular habit. At first I was intimidated to call reporters and ask for a story or review about my books. Then I read Free Publicity and my trepidation went away.
Free Publicity is a valuable, inside look at how reporters think. It teaches what reporters are looking for in a story and gives practical advice on how to politely contact reporters and spin your product or service into a newsworthy story.
After I read Free Publicity I overhauled my whole approach to PR, and I found instant success in the way of newspaper exposure and radio interviews.
This book works. Read it now, follow it, and you will increase your press exposure for your company, product, service, book or whatever.
Thanks, Jeff. Keep up the good work.
Hope this helps.

I was lucky enough to hear Jeff Crilley in person at a writer's conference.
I'd never been so influenced by a speaker in my life! He not only has career-changing advice for writers, but he presents it in a super fun manner. We blew bubbles, ate Pez, and played "Name That Tune."
Doesn't THAT sound like an author you would want to read?
Mr. Crilley, a veteran newsman and emmy winner, offers practical advice on how to write a GOOD press release - one that won't end up on the newsroom floor (with other press releases). He also gives a formula for getting free publicity through the diverse media branches.
I LOVE this book and intend to use the principles therein!
The info is worth MORE than the cost of the book.

This is a very complete reference book. I use it constantly. There is a wealth of info in magical correspondances, moon phase info, recipes as well as a few spells and rituals. This is not a learning book. This is a reference book for those that craft!

Be careful picking this book up to look for something because half an hour later, you might actually get around to reading about it! This book is an amazing resource for Witches and I am astounded at how much information is contained in it. It has everything from herbal and oil correspondences to rune interpretations to meditations and rituals. This is a must-have for every Witch!

This grimoire is excellent. If you are interested in someone else's view on Wiccan worship you will appreciate this book. It isn't for training but for seeing the Craft executed in another way. I'm really impressed and glad I spent the money.

I have a nice library of books from beginner to expert, but I use this one the most. Moura filled this book with great recipes and colourful explanations of the hows and whys of witchcraft.
It's always best to throw your own flair into the craft when working from a book, but this one is so well-written I believe a novice could feel comfortable and confident using the spells & rituals as-is.
This is definitely a book to put a hardback/protection cover on, as it is sure to be used very often. I cannot stress enough that of all the books I have, this one is used most often. People new to the craft should find it easy to follow and very useful, especially when combined with elemental magic texts. (I typically combine mine with Earth, Air, Fire & Water: More Techniques of Natural Magic by Scott Cunningham.)

This is such a beautiful SC book. Carole bonds with the mare and it is really thrilling! Then Carole rides the wild mare to set her free. When Carole gets hurt as when the mare stops at her herd, the wild stallion stands over her. Then everyone on the Bar None discovers her, and Carole must explain why she set the mare free.

I LOVED this book! It's definetly one of the best ones ever! I think that more of the Saddle Clb books need to focus more on Carole, (she's my fav). I recomend this book to anyone who loves horses, or takes riding lessons like I do. Other Saddle Club books I recomend are #13 Starlight Christmas, #68 Summer Rider, #2 Horse Shy, (be warned, it's really sad,)#77 Rocking Horse and #76 Horse Care.

I have been a fan of Louise Hay for years, but recently determined to make a concerted effort to direct my life in ways that would benefit me. I ordered Hay's new DVD "You can heal your life" and was so moved by it and the accompanying DVD with full length interviews (I bought the expanded version), that I searched for more Hay material. I purchased I Can Do It and not only read it and underlined parts, but I have created cards with affirmations on them to carry in my pocket each day. I listened to the CD that comes with the book for several weeks and have so incorporated the material into my thinking that I'm much more aware of the negative thoughts I'm hearing from others and thinking myself. I immediately change my thought to a more positive one. I have given a copy of the book I Can Do It to both of my grown daughters and one of them has just told me how much she loves it, though I haven't heard from the other one yet. This is a total bargain. Buy it. It will change your life for the better.

An excellent companion book to Ms. Louise L. Hay's book, "You Can Heal Your Life." Nicely illustrated. It's a relatively short read, overall, with dozens of affirmations included that should be slowly absorbed and included in daily meditations to manifest positive changes in key areas of one's life.

Okay, I admit it. I wish my mother had Louise Hay's voice. I probably would have grown up to be a normal person. It's the CD that comes with this little book that gets my 5 star rating. Yes, the CD is essentially what's written in the book. But when you hear Louise read it, everything makes sense. And it does. If you put out positive, loving thoughts, you'll get positive, loving thoughts back. Simple, right? Except when I say it, you probably smirk, or roll your eyes. But listen to Louise just once, and you'll actaully entertain the idea that you can change your world just by changing your thoughts. I advocate buying this book so you can listen to the CD on your computer, in your car, at the office. Your cynicism will abate (or at least lessen) and you might just believe all things are possible. Really.

If I could give no stars, I would. I'm putting this review on each of Louise Hay's titles to warn people who fall into believing that this is a caring, compassionate person. I met her recently at an event and was about to compliment her on one of the books her company publishes that Dr. Dyer wrote for children. Louise Hay was so incredibly rude to me before I even got to open my mouth that I was shocked. The woman seemed to be only about capitalism, power and ego and, though I had been a previous customer of her publishing company, I will NEVER purchase anything by them again nor will I recommend them. I will not give money to someone so ill-behaved, let alone someone who's telling others to be nice when they haven't learned that lesson themselves. Louise Hay, I hope someone on your team shares this with you. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so nasty!
By contrast, I have dealt with the people at Sound's True a zillion times and all of them are as nice as can be and behave in accordance with their products. I spoke with their people at the same event (and others before it) and they were all lovely.
And, no, I do not work for or am in any way compensated by Sound's True. I simply people should know the truth about who practices what they preach and who doesn't. In my opinion, Hay's behavior was one step down from Cruella De Ville. If you're shocked reading that, imagine how shocked I was experiencing it from her.
