For anybody who loves the Jack Russell and can appreciate their terrier personality. I live in a multiple terrier home so seeing these pictures were like looking at my own funny dogs. I have tried to line up terriers for Christmas photos, but not with the success of Mrs. Mackay-Smith. Favorites have to be the JRTs at the piano, on the back of a blanketed, tinseled horse, and asleep (!!!) beneath Christmas stockings filled with dog biscuits. Mrs. Mackay-Smith, how did you manage that?! Thank you for publishing this delightful little book whose subjects remind me of my own beloved terriers.

No one can capture the spirit of a Jack Russell, in a photograph, like Marilyn Mackay-Smith. She pairs very appropriate (or humorous!) quotes with the amazing photos.
This is a wonderful book for any dog lover.

This is a story about a kid who wanted to see his friend more often, so he went to karate classes to see him, and in the story he helps his friend find his white belt. This was a fun book to read and it had some funny parts, too.

"The Karate Class Mystery" is a book about friends who work together even when their frindship is threatened. The karate stuff is fun and the vocabulary is explained really well so you don't feel stupid. I love mysteries and this is a fun one. If you like mysteries and karate you should read this one. The other Invisible Inc. books are good too but I liked this one best.

First off, this is a great fable and has been so throughout the centuries. Second, Fulmer comes along and retells it without a heck of a lot of needless embellishment to make a meaningful and beautiful story applicable to our times. The artwork is equally powerful as the message.

I really enjoyed the story and the illustrations. This is a great book for children. I recommend it to all.

This is the best book by far of the three that Murphy has written on MoH winners in the three major wars. It is expertly detailed and has all of the recipients inserted in the timeline of the course of the war. There are so many details about each recipient, it is a wonder how and where he managed to get all the facts and keep them straight. This appears to be a labor of love and the great respect shown each recipient is plainly evident. This is also an excellent history of the Korean conflict, not only the MoH winners, so it serves a double purpose. Highly recommended, most definitely.

The author, who is the editor of the journal of the Medal of Honor Historical Society, skillfully weaves each of the Korean War Medal of Honor stories chronologically into the context of the war, providing insight into not only the individual heroism but also the development of the conflict itself.
With maps, a useful introduction detailing Medal of Honor history, tabular index of recipients, bibliography, and index, this is a handy compendium of MOH awardees, and also useful for its insights into the unique nature of the Korean War.

I recently had to educate myself in landscape design (large landscaping job at the house). I looked through many landscaping books, and bought several. This one has turned out to be the best one by far.

There are all sorts of great tips along the way, everything from design do's and don'ts to plant recommendations. But what I most appreciated (and what most other books lacked) was the straightforward walkthrough of how to plan: goals, design, hard landscaping, soft landscaping, and so on. Many so called "landscaping" books are actually just coffee-table books with a lot of pretty pictures but no details on how to come up with a good design. This book really helps you go from zero to a workable landscape design.

When I brought in landscapers to submit bids, I had designs on hand to show them. After looking at them, one gave a sigh of relief and said "oh good, you are way ahead of most people." That's all thanks to this book.

It's so handy to have around. I borrowed from the library, but soon after decided I wanted my own copy. It has great tips for all different landscapes. My favorites are the top ten lists - fastest growing privacy plants, slowest growing, perfect plants for between stepping stones, etc.

I've read several landscape books, and I strongly recommend this one to anyone who plans on landscaping by themselves.

I first discovered Mr Edmundston's books fifteen years ago in Canadian bookstores. Since then, I have consulted them prior to making any car purchases.

The Lemon-aid Guides are a lot different than most similar books on the market. They review each model very critically listing the positives and the negatives. What I have found to be remarkable is the accuracy of the reviews. You can tell that the reviewer has actually driven the vehicle.

Also, unlike most guides, Lemon-aid identifies most of the "hidden warranties" of the auto manufacturing - the problems that will only be resolved by aggressive complaining to the manufacturer.

A must read.

I could of saved over 20.000 bucks over the last ten years in car repairs if i knew what i know now.

I checked out 5 used car buying guides out of the library and read all the requisite guides: Consumer So and So, Ultimate Guide This, Ultimate Guide That... Read Phil Edmonston's book (2001 guide) last because I wasn't into "buying a lemon". Well someone smack me, this is the best guide I have ever read.

Finally, someone who is not afraid to stand up to the Big Three (Ford, in particular) for continuing to let reliability be an afterthought in the manufacturing process.

My only gripe: it is damn hard to find his 2004 Used Car Guide at bookstores, and my local library doesn't have it :-(.

When I bought this book, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed reading this book because it's full of lists which made semse to me and gave me a perspective on what is important to me. The lists are valuable with meaning. The book was also easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading lists.

I rec'd this book yesterday as a birthday present from my friend! I love this book!! It puts me in a good mood and it has great tips to live buy!! I will be buying one for several people as christmas presents!

At first glance, I was not very impressed when flipping through this book. The bears seemed very plain and simple. However, upon closer inspection - I realized that it was only their expressions that were very basic; Each bear pattern was really very different in size and shape. A bear's expression is actually the part of the bear that allows the artist to make the bear uniquely "theirs". So armed with the bear patterns in this book, the creative possibilities are endless! The author has included a large variety of bear styles (jointed, non-jointed, 4 legged cub) and adorable clothes for all the bears. The patterns included in the book are all full size. There is a very thorough and well-pictured techniques section in the beginning of the book discussing different fabrics, joint materials, etc. This book is really a gem, and at the listed price - well worth the investment.

i made a few teddy bears and still don't have enough. so many great ideas and possibilities and patterns for clothing. i can only recommend it. you will see that teddies are easy to make.

Once you've read "Mama Used to Say" you'll understand how this young man was inspired to march bravely into the world and achieve success in life. This isn't a large book, not in size or number of pages, but it is a major accomplishment in depicting the collective wisdom passed from generation to generation with a beguiling blend of wit, wisdom, and insight.
