Jeep Books

Sheep in a Jeep is a fun book using rhythmic wording. The pictures are humorous. My disappointment was with the small size of the board book. No where did it say the miniature dimensions of the book. I prefer board books that are in the larger format of 8x11.

I was first introduced to this book when a friend's toddler received it for Christmas. He loved it. That was 5 or 6 years ago. Recently we found it at the library and my boys loved it so much that we bought our own. My 2yo son loves it and even the 4yo still asks to read it. It's a keeper!

Our school district had a paperback version of this book (not cardboard) as a part of the reading curriculum for the kinders and it was so cute I had to buy it in order to keep it at home. The facial expressions of these sheep are too adorable, the sentence structure is kept simple, and it rhymes. Plus, the kids love it :^).

As a Jeep owner, when I saw this book at my library's book fair - I just HAD to get it for my toddler. A year later, we still love reading it. The rhymes are great and so memorable that we find ourselves using some of the lines whenever a mishap occurs in our daily lives. Whether you're a Jeep owner or not - this book is a MUST have!

Good basic rhyming vocabulary with plenty of humor. Nicely done lesson on consequences of not focusing on the task at hand. Good clear illustrations. Good to hear now with lots of sound effects and to read alone later.

What we eat is indeed what we are. Filled with healthy, easy to prepare recipes that when you read it, makes perfect sense, which means that intuition agrees with the food recomendations. An excellent, capsulized version of what to eat every day for vibrant health. Includes guides for not only healing the physical, but also those other parts of us that are not as tangible, yet directly affect the physical when those are not correctly balanced. An excellent reference that will remain in my kitchen

The Super Antioxidant Diet and Nutrition Guide by Robin Jeep and Dr. Richard Couey is outstanding in my opinion. The lifestyle changes that are recommended provide both weight loss and improved health. When I started the class and purchased the book, I was not interested in weight loss, but had been sick for about a year. This program has improved my immune system and helped me to to feel energized and healthy. As stated in the book, the body has a miraculous way of healing itself if nourished properly. I highly recommend the guide and the class. Additionally, the book includes delicious, world-class recipes, a section on how to arrange your kitchen, tips on shopping for healthy foods, and much more. For those interested in weight loss, ideal weight can be achieved as a natural progression following this guide. If you are fortunate enough to have access to the class, don't miss it!

Robin Jeep's book offers the whole package--good nutricious food, delicious recipes and the science to back it up. I no longer feel hungry, nor have cravings for sugar-laden food. I've lost over 11 lbs in 6 weeks with essentially no effort. And I have tons of energy and sleep better. I'm a simple cook, so I haven't tried many of the recipes, mostly I eat blueberry-spinach-kale-flaxseed-pomegranite-juice smoothies (yummier than it sounds)for breakfast, have gigantic salads for lunch, and cook simple veggie, bean or fish dishes for dinner. The dishes she made in her cooking class were terrific--especially the creamed kale with onions and chocolate ice cream. I plan to work through her recipe book to expand my repetoire. This is a great book. Do as I did and send it to someone you love and want to keep around and frisky for a long long time.

This book deals with the whole person. The authors help you lose weight in a healthy way, not just with wonderful recipes, but with tips on relaxation, peer pressure, fitness, etc. Also, the health benefits of many fruits and vegetables are defined and there are sample menus, what to put in your pantry, etc. And........the photographs are gorgeous!

The adventures of Chico and his friends keeps this story moving fast and teaches children about another culture. You can't put this book down. The guide in the back has great discussion questions. This is a must for all Christian Schools!

A great story, told thru the eyes of a child. It draws you in and warms your heart.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It surprised me I didn't want to put it down. This would be a great book to read to your children at night. It gives a new perspective on missions. It is very enjoyable to see how missions affect the lives of others from their point of view.
I highly recommend this book. Buy it for your self and as a unique and insightful gift for a friend

This book captivates the audience from the very first paragraph. The story of this young boy lets you see what life is like in his part of the world and how he comes to know Christ through the actions of the man in the green jeep. The study guides are very helpful when reading this book to children. One can't wait to hear more from this new author, and perhaps learn more about the life of people who are so much less fortunate than we are here in the U.S.

I enjoyed this book and I don't even have kids. It wonderfully describes a young boy's day-to-day life in Honduras. And makes you understand how much children need love and support no matter where they live.

The official NPS maps and guide-books are very lame, mostly because of the fear that ancient ruins and art could be vandalized. This book is therefore indispensable to a truly fulfilling visit to Canyonlands. The maps and directions are perfect--just enough detail to be clear and to keep you from getting lost, but they don't deprive you of feeling like you're actually doing some exploring and route-finding.

This is really the only good guide book I have found on Canyonlands National Park. It describes in great detail many trails that arn't even mentioned in the Falcon Guide. It also has a great color section, and its maps are much better than the other books. For some reason the Nat. Park Visitor Centers don't sell this book (maybe it has too much info about things they want to keep secret?), so you better get it before you start your trip!

Canyonlands is a wild and wonderful place to explore. I would have been lost without this book. I was able to decide ahead of time what areas of the park I wanted to spend the most time in by reading the detailed descriptions of jeep roads and trails. The beautiful color photographs helped me make decisions as well. I found the maps to be extremely helpful and the estimated travel times to be very accurate. David Day knows his stuff!

This is a Great book for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. By including a focus on the jeep roads of the Canyonlands area David Day has provided the hiker with information necessary for access to its fantastic hiking trails. The format is similar to his other hiking books. The maps and trail descriptions and commentary are not only helpful but very interesting. The photography is great. I particularly enjoyed the section of color photos I like his trail overview which includes a rating of his enjoyment of the trail.

I've made a couple of the hikes he writes up and with the help of his book I will be doing more.

There's lots of off road variety in this book. You can four wheel on easy dirt roads to rock hoppin heaven. This book is well laid out and the descriptions of the trails are accurate.

I'm a newbie off-roader, and have only driven one of the "easy" trails in my stock wrangler. It was a lot of fun, and the scenery was awesome, but I think I realized we weren't really off roading when we crossed paths with a brand new mustang convertible going in the other direction. At that point I figured I should take it out of 4wd-low.

So I think there's definitely something for everyone in this book. However, deciding on the right trail and actually driving to it are two different things. Some of my off roading plans fizzled out when I realized I had to drive 4 hours in each direction just to get to the trail I wanted! Living in the SF bay area, I was hoping to have more options within a reasonable day drive...but that's probably just naive of me.

I have had the opportunity to drive trails I know with Chuck Wells, and his books are well written and easy to follow. The trail rating he uses is juged on the roughest section of the trail, if a trail is moderate and has a difficult section that cannot be avoided it will receive a difficult rating. All the trails in his books have been driven by him and not judged by someone else.

I was a first time off-roader with my stock 06 Chevy truck. So far, I've driven 3 of the courses in the book, the descriptions are very accurate, the odometer settings are great and the GPS coordinates are very helpful. I won't be tackling any of the "Hard" courses and this guide spells out the difficulty level of each. Get this book!

More detailed than the book "Jeep" by Jim Allen. Get a little deeper into the "Jeepmania". Also recommended for new Jeep enthusiasts and people considering buying a vintage Jeep for hobby or restoration. Helps orient one to make the right choice.

This is absolutely one of his and the markets best book. Magnificent photography--the places the photos were shot at accented the Jeeps ruggedness. Steve's writing skills are superb. A must buy for Jeep lovers and auto lovers alike! This book

This book has some great pictures. It is the best book on Jeep history I've seen. I especially liked the part on the Jeepsters.

I liked this book alot better than "The story of Jeeps".

Wow...I never knew so little about the long and colorful history of America's military workhorse. The historic photos really tell the story of the vehicle so many have come to love and own!

This was an immensely painful but life-affirming journey through terminal illness and death. For all who have watched a loved one go through this tortuous process, Linda's recounting of her experience will bring back the alternately hopeful and despairing memories previously thought put to rest. Through tears one realizes that time has done its healing work. Much of that initial agony felt by the survivors has perhaps been tempered or replaced with remembrances of happier times enjoyed before the illness took over everything else in life. Readers can appreciate how day by day they grew healthier in mind, body and spirit while never forgetting the pain of losing that dear person they loved so much.

Linda's refusal to sugar-coat the feelings of frustration, disappointment and exhaustion she went through is reassuring to worn-out caregivers who keep pressing forward because that's just what you do. Never mind the numbing fatigue and resentment that the wonderful life you had is never coming back. Accolades to Linda for keeping the love she shared with her husband above all the misery they faced. This was the most profound message of her book - you can struggle against the cruelest fate if love sustains you and keeps comforting you long after that special someone is gone.

I have never met Linda, but I feel a warmth radiating from her text. The two most amazing things about the book are: 1. The lack of desparation, defeat and regret and 2. The abundance of humility, humanity and hope.

I do not often think about death, my own or a loved one's, but through sharing the story of her husband's passing, the author has communicated an alternative view of death, which is something to think about: One filled with companionship, perspective and release.

It is a motivating story which emphasizes the importance of pursuing and living daily in open, loving relationships. We have little time to do much else.

With years of experience as a therapist, Linda Huffstetler-Dearing is more than qualified to write an instructive book on coping with the loss of a loved one. Instead, in The Purple Jeep, she humbly shares her own intimate experience of loss, offering comfort and strength to readers through identification and her own personal insight.

The Purple Jeep is truly a beautiful and moving story. Captivating from the first page, the story is written in open, honest and simple prose that is difficult to turn away from, though at around 50 pages, the story can be read in a single sitting and revisited again and again. Ever since I got this wonderful book, my restoration of WW II jeeps has got a definite direction. I have been able to master the various differences between the MBs and GPWs. The wiring is made perfect. The quest for 'F' marks has increased(I have found many more such marks than those listed on page 139.The 'Jeep Straps', 'Seal patterns','Marking of Vehicles' and the 'General use,Standardized Parts' are only found in this book. As a restorer,owning 23 low bonnet jeeps, I seem to be commanding a fairly good knowledge about WW II jeeps, and would like to be contacted by jeep lovers in INDIA for more information. Could this be the starting point. I once again assuse that I am proud to possess the Bible on Jeep Restoration. Would like to own the second book by Ray Cowdrey,but dont know where in India will it be available? Please guide.

I purchased this book for my husband who is a Jeep enthusiast. It has really great pictures and information about the history of Jeeps. Super purchase for the Jeep lover!!

Great book, full of great WWII and 50's photographs, most of them not seen before. A MUST for the JEEP enthusiast. Buyer will not be disappointed.

Great book if your looking for photos of the vintage military jeep. Great photos of all the armed forces using the jeep in all its many different roles. Great for getting ideas on building models, or ideas for your restoration.

This book was a gift for someone who collects Willy's jeeps. They loved it. It was a cute unique gift for someone who is hard to buy for.

My husband owns a red Wrangler so when I saw this book, I knew I had to have it for my daughter. It's an adorable story, a true story at that, but it is a long book. It will be better when our daughter is a little older, not for young children that can't sit still. But it is a great book, I recommend it.
