Ford Books

I can't imagine a much better tribute to this amazing bird. Emma Ford has left nothing out, telling the history and natural history in a way that is fun to read and reflects her passion for the Gyrfalcon. Like her previous book Peregrine, Gyrfalcon is coffee table sized book full of the best artwork and photography from the past and present. The new artwork from Andrew Ellis and Antony Rhodes is absolutely gorgeous. At around $100.00 it isn't cheap but if prints in the book were unbound and sold separately I'm sure you'd pay well over that amount.

Rhythmic, lively, robust, energetic, engaging, lyrical, and great fun, the poetry of Terri Ford laid out in the pages of "Hams Beneath The Firmament" is an exuberant foray into life experiences that will wonderfully resonate within the mind of the reader from first page to last. 'Midwestern Livelihoods': the budgies of Owatonna drive tow trucks./Budgies of Elko? Winos all./The budgies of Swaledale: purveyors of/girdles. The budgies of Brule are cruel birds: guano/in hairdos just for spite./The budges of Hope, Minnesota fly over bodies/of water, wing up everlasting.

'Handful of Blues' is a terrific Robben Ford and the Blue Line album. This book contain the guitar parts accurately transcribed here with tablature. Couldn't ask for more. It's as simple as can be, the whole album transcribed for guitar and not a single paragraph written.
I give it a five stars because it's an accurate songbook and sold as such. Plus the music written in it ain't half bad, is it?

I really loved this book because it was fun to read. It gives you a preview of how stressful modeling can be. This book also teaches you an important leson DON'T SPREAD YOURSELF TO THIN!!! If you do you won't do anything very well. I also like how detailed all of the modeling shoots were.

This book is a must have if you own a Ford Focus. It'll save you a lot of money and time if you wish to do regular maintanence on your car. I like how this book is layed out. It even has a troubleshooting section and the causes of certain diagnostic codes which are labeled on two pages. It has a lot of novice type jobs which I'm sure can be done with a little mechanical background knowledge and this book. It even includes a general overhaul section that is described and pictured step by step. Buy this book! Only gripe I had was that it could have used more pictures.

Hi there. I'm Frank, and I'm fillin' in for Zaggy in the reviews department while he gets a bit of a rest from it all. My latest review is on this here Pinto repair manual. I've been drivin' my 1979 Pinto hatchback all around town (mainly from home to work and back) ever since I bought it brand-spankin'-new way back in... um... well, I don't recall exactly what year it was that I bought it. I do know, however, that it's only one more smog check away from smog exemption in my state! And five years after that, it'll be considered a classic! Yep, I can just see it now-in five years I'll be cruisin' the main drag and ALL the mad hotties will be swoonin' in the presence of my classic Pinto! I might even let my good buddies Zaggy and Ro'y tag along with me so we can REALLY get down! Ya know what I'm sayin' down on the G-Funk, dawg?

Oh wait... I'm supposed to be talkin' `bout the Pinto repair guide, ain't I?Well, lemme start it off by tellin' you the story of how I got my copy of it It was given to me for free by the supervisor of a local repair shop where they replaced a worn flywheel-thingy on my rear-end detonator. The guy said that I should learn to do my own repairs more, and then mumbled something about my presence in the shop `creeping out' alla' the mechanics working there. They were really good mechanics, too-one of `em said the repair time would run about four-and-a-half hours, but it only took `em three! And I should know, `cuz I was in the waiting room the whole time, watchin' `em doing the fix-up! Talk about service!

But anyway, after looking through this neat-o book, I was quite amazed by how many parts there are in a Pinto! And I don't just mean the radio dial knobs and the window-roller knobs either! Heck, the motor and other stuff under the hood is made up of all sortsa things! Heck, there's even things inside the things, according to the cross-section illustrations I looked at! From the alternator to the universal joint, you got a whole lotta pieces with really weird names that I have a tough time tryin' to understand! Heck, I'm even thinkin' of takin' my Pinto completely apart and then-- with the aid of this manual-- put it all back together again! Now I know what I'll be doin' on my next vacation break-- all three hours of it!

Comte de St Germain has a modern day problem with the deed to his extraordinary house, in the California hills, so Ashton Ford comes to the rescue, and helps not only to keep the state of California from taking the house, but helps put a soul to rest that he finds existing there. The other characters who happen to drop by the house from time to time, just help to make this a thrilling story to read!

Heat of Fusion and Other Stories contains a mostly even mix of poetry and prose which should dispel any notion that John M. Ford is a "mere" fantasy/SF writer. There's a verse story in which D'Artagnan and company meet another famous swordsman, a stage play about memory, a solid rendition of the visions-of-death story, and many others. Whether reworking myths or writing of a future, Ford often leaves details understated, so stories reward multiple readings. Although some of the poems didn't do much for me, likely due to my lack of affinity for the form, they all seem well constructed. This book backs up the publisher's promise of versatility and then some.
