Gentle entry for the naieveReview Date: 2007-03-29
The mother of my wife has had Alzheimer's for likely 6 years. We have come to understand her through self-awareness and open-mindedness rather than through resources such as this.
We found the book hedged around the subject and issues and never really prepared the reader for some of the more significant issues which arise for many families. It did address patient denial, which is important. More dramatically, and as much of importance is family and spouse denial, which unintentionally often leads to emotional and spiritual abuse and heightened stress for someone suffering from a stress sensitive illness.
The book is an easy read. We both read it in one short sitting. We could sum up the points quickly and briefly. Better for someone who has a beginning and mild interest in the possibility and likelihood of themselves or their parent eventually succumbing to this illness. Not helpful to someone having to cope with someone close to them who has Alzheimer's.
For us, more worth $4 than what we paid for it.

Unique historical information about the Mugello track...Review Date: 1998-04-16
For some this may be an interesting book, particularly if you are curious about the track's history. It includes a large number of unique photos detailing the track's construction, some interesting bits on the history of racing in the area before the track was created, and the describes the issues involved in the design of the track.
Unfortunately, I noticed several errors in the identification of different Ferrari models and therefore I'm not sure that the historical information about the track can be completely trusted. If you are interested in the track's history or are filling in a complete historical Ferrari library I'd recommend purchasing this book, otherwise leave it for another time...

A collection of surplus photographs.Review Date: 2007-06-09
Yes, Andrea & Antonella Ferrari are excellent photographers but during the past 9 years in which they have been photographing the underwater world, they have not learned enough about the creatures that have become their subjects. There is far more to Marine Biology than taking a photo and looking up the fish in a book!
In short, the authors of this book do not appear to have any of the qualifications, knowledge or experience required to produce a so-called definitive guide to over 1,200 world-wide marine species.
Having found mistakes, I got the distinct impression this book was simply a collection of their own surplus photographs - good though they may be.
In short, if you are diving and you see something which is also found in this book, you will have to check that identification with a more reliable source before committing either common name or Latin name to your logbook.

Worst Self-Help Book Ever?Review Date: 2005-10-16
The conversations between the brother and the sister are hilarious sometimes. Imaginary example:
J: 'Your children are really important, Catherine'
C: 'That are powerful words, Julian, thanks for the wisdom!' said Catherine while tears filled her eyes.
The author has five ideas that would make a nice brochure. The rest of the book is filled with quotes and a badly written, unbelievable story.
Spend your money on something else.
