Good, but I was expecting something better.

I was at the Petit Le Mans in 2005 and saw a couple copies of this CD-ROM for sale. I am a huge fan of the Ferrari 333SP and very little info is available on it (No books, etc...). Even though it was a little pricy I still couldn't pass it up. I plugged it in at home and the first thing you see is a Formula steering wheel that gives you access to all the various topics ranging from 333SP Teams and sponsors, to production facts and race history. The video segments were VERY TINY and they skipped several times. The narrator was OBVIOUSLY reading from a script.....it was a monotone of boring statements. For a serious lover of the legendary 333SP this CD-Rom production would be nice to add to a collection of the Ferrari (These CD-Roms are quite rare, after all) but I don't think it was worth the price I paid. Not by a long shot.

Gentle entry for the naieve
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2007-03-29
I partly ordered this book because we had heard good reviews elsewhere.
The mother of my wife has had Alzheimer's for likely 6 years. We have come to understand her through self-awareness and open-mindedness rather than through resources such as this.

We found the book hedged around the subject and issues and never really prepared the reader for some of the more significant issues which arise for many families. It did address patient denial, which is important. More dramatically, and as much of importance is family and spouse denial, which unintentionally often leads to emotional and spiritual abuse and heightened stress for someone suffering from a stress sensitive illness.

The book is an easy read. We both read it in one short sitting. We could sum up the points quickly and briefly. Better for someone who has a beginning and mild interest in the possibility and likelihood of themselves or their parent eventually succumbing to this illness. Not helpful to someone having to cope with someone close to them who has Alzheimer's.

For us, more worth $4 than what we paid for it.

Good Historical Review

An excellent historical review at first glance. 8-10 photos useful to detail modelers and technical enthusiasts. Many excellent on track photos of various car numbers and configurations. More technical material would have been useful.

If you are serious about buying the car, then why not spend the six bucks for this article. However, it's 90% puff piece, 10% good info. The half page listing potential trouble spots is really the only valuable section.

A kid interested in some basic info about Ferrari's history would enjoy this book. An adult looking for a serious overview of vintage Ferrari GTs would be best advised to look elsewhere -- Antoine Prunet's book "Ferrari Legend: The Road Cars" (available from Amazon) is a good choice. The pictures in this book aren't great, the text is superficial...END

Unique historical information about the Mugello track...
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 1998-04-16
This Italian and English language book covers the history of the infamous Mugello track now owned by Ferrari SpA. It includes a number of historical photos from the early days of the track and more recent photos from Ferrari Club Italia's Mugello meet.

For some this may be an interesting book, particularly if you are curious about the track's history. It includes a large number of unique photos detailing the track's construction, some interesting bits on the history of racing in the area before the track was created, and the describes the issues involved in the design of the track.

Unfortunately, I noticed several errors in the identification of different Ferrari models and therefore I'm not sure that the historical information about the track can be completely trusted. If you are interested in the track's history or are filling in a complete historical Ferrari library I'd recommend purchasing this book, otherwise leave it for another time...

Good Overview
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2000-05-18
This book provides a good overview of Ferrari road cars. It presents the history in a logical fashion and covers just about all the cars in the line and clearly delineates models. Some cars get more coverage than others and some get short changed. I did not like the excessive number of black and white photo's (I think it is a crime to show a Ferrari in B&W) but there are color photos as well, just not enough. Overall a good book, though perhaps too expensive.

A collection of surplus photographs.
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-06-09
I have to commence by saying that the photography in this book is quite excellent. But that is all. It is not "The Dive Guide to have" it not even "A Leading Guide." It is certainly not an "Awesome book for any diver!" WHY? Because there are far too many errors and the product cannot, therefore, be trusted. Far too many creatures are wrongly identified.

Yes, Andrea & Antonella Ferrari are excellent photographers but during the past 9 years in which they have been photographing the underwater world, they have not learned enough about the creatures that have become their subjects. There is far more to Marine Biology than taking a photo and looking up the fish in a book!

In short, the authors of this book do not appear to have any of the qualifications, knowledge or experience required to produce a so-called definitive guide to over 1,200 world-wide marine species.

Having found mistakes, I got the distinct impression this book was simply a collection of their own surplus photographs - good though they may be.

In short, if you are diving and you see something which is also found in this book, you will have to check that identification with a more reliable source before committing either common name or Latin name to your logbook.

Worst Self-Help Book Ever?
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2005-10-16
This book must be one of the worst self-help books ever written. The author's talks about the himalayas and 'sages' sound so clichéd that everyone who has been there himself knows it's just a story.

The conversations between the brother and the sister are hilarious sometimes. Imaginary example:

J: 'Your children are really important, Catherine'
C: 'That are powerful words, Julian, thanks for the wisdom!' said Catherine while tears filled her eyes.

The author has five ideas that would make a nice brochure. The rest of the book is filled with quotes and a badly written, unbelievable story.

Spend your money on something else.

Nurturing Kids
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2004-05-27
Robin has inspiring ways to Nurture kids in a safe and sound environment. He focus on the individual potentiality of the child and personally care for the close relationship with them. He thinks, Children, in particular, believe that the more time you spend with them reflects how much you love them. He emphasizes on the quality time that you share with your kid and make it more communicative, fun and playful as laughter is the shortest distance between two people. Robin Sharma believes in instilling love and trust in the kids. They should be strong willed and their character should be mould from the start. In form of story of Julian, Robin Sharma has a smooth say to live with simplicity yet fulfil the desires of life in a rightful manner and teach the kids to dream big and achieve big by their creative and constructive ways. He says 'Creativity is all about seeing what everybody else is seeing and thinking what nobody else is thinking'. Robin Sharma as a life coach definitely has whiz mind as he changes many a lives with his books, speech and spirituality. This book is a handy guide to know the potentialities of your kids and though not a parental feedback book, yet a powerful supplement reading in a natural flow making aware of the small things one forgets in dealing with kids in a routine life. A good pick.
