This book is a great read whether you want to refinish something or just read about it. The author takes you through a few common situations and shows you the best ways to creat a treasure - sometimes from JUNK! I especially liked the last section - tips for furniture care - very useful information!

Learn from the best and benefit from the author's many years of personal experience. Illustrations are great. You must have this book if you plan to attempt any furniture refinishing and/or repairs.

Gardening Indoors should be considered the bible for indoor gardening. It has a chapter dedicated to the important topic of lighting. It compares different garden light systems including High Intensity Discharge lights such as High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lights as well as different types of fluorescent lighting. This book also contains extensive information on controlled environments including temperature, humidity, and even the potential for Carbon Dioxide enrichment and its benefits. Gardening Indoors also has an excellent chapter on hydroponics. It talks about water and fertilizers, natural pest control, and organics. Anyone growing anything from orchids to vegetables indoors should have this book.

i used this book as a guideline for growing my dope crop over the last 16 months now. so far ive had 4 successful crops each in excess of ten pounds of head, and thats with only four plants! the methods described in this book are also great for the home grower as you no longer need worry about snoopers in your backyard because noone but you knows what's in your cupboard (be careful though the electricity co. might get sus.) in summary i reccommend this book to anyone interested in home hydro, as i said it certainly helped me!

Here are sumptuous images reflecting the many moods and textures of an inspired and inspiring landscape. A superbly presented work of landscape photography as art, The Gardens At Giverny is also available in hardcover (0-893781-113-0, $40.00) which would be the preferred recommendation for academic and community library photography book collections.

This is a great artist's amazingly beautiful garden. And the photographs are not just pretty pictures of flowers, but are full of emotion.

She is great, though not concentrating on "hermanutics" she does a investigative convincing study of equality between the sexes. A great read!

The author combines scientific research and well reasoned arguments with a gift for communicating clearly. This is the most formative treatment I have read on the subject of gender issues.

Getting Into Your Pants: Add 10 + 10 for Life!

This is a wonderful book. A new way of eating for life. Since May I have lost 8 pounds and feel so much better because I am eating better.

I have owned this book for years and love it. I have used it time and again and always get compliments on anything I make from the recipes. I wanted to give this book as a gift and was glad to finally find it again, no I'm not getting paid to say this, I'm just a housewife who likes to make my own gifts and of all my cookbooks I use this one the most when I start making Christmas gifts... Try it you'll love it.

There are many books on the market that promise "different" gift ideas, but this one actually delivers! From simple recipes to more complex projects, there is something in here for every gift-giving occasion -- even April Fool's Day! I especially like the wonderful packaging suggestions, with all needed patterns and recipes included.

If you've read other books by J. van Rijckenborgh or Catharose de Petri you might find that the translations from Dutch are sometimes muddled. This book is written in a very clear and direct English.

How does a human being live a life that leads towards this Thirteenth Aeon? The candidate in the gnostic mysteries is confronted with thirteen soul reversals, which he must struggle through in order to be able to accomplish true soul rebirth. These soul reversals take shape in the thirteen songs of repentance of the Pistis Sophia.

1. In the first song, the Pistis Sophia discovers dialectics and humanity's judgement. She sings the Song of Humanity.

2. In the second song, she achieves the self-discovery of her nature-state. She sings the Song of Consciousness.

3. On this basis, she sings the Song of Humility with regard to the one true Light.

4. Then follows the Song of Demolition: the ego is being led to the grave.

5. The Song of Resignation is the next stage: the Pistis Sophia is in full self-surrender.

6. On this basis, the Song of Trust is sung. The Light is supplicated for, in true faith.

7. In the seventh song of repentance, the Pistis Sophia sings the Song of Decision. It is either the rise or the fall.

8. Subsequently, the persecution takes place. The aeons of nature fiercely attack the Pistis Sophia and she sings the Song of Persecution.

9. After having sung the Song of the Breakthrough, she positively shakes off her enemy.

10. Next, the Pistis Sophia sings the Song of the Answered Prayer. She sees the Light of Lights for the first time.

11. The power of her innermost faith is subjected to a final test. She sings the Song of the Testing of the Faith.

12. In the twelfth place, she experiences a great tribulation that may be compared to the temptation in the desert. She sings the Song of the Great Tribulation.

13. In the thirteenth song of repentance, the Pistis Sophia finally sings the Song of Victory: the soul has arisen; it sees and encounters the Spirit, her Pymander.

In this way, on this basis, the reader can, to a certain extent, reflect on the divine Wisdom and on the divine Power, which must find acceptance in prepared human beings. Wisdom and Power are the first requirements for being truly able to walk the path of soul-liberation and bring it to a good end.

Right through all the spheres of the aeons
goes the Pistis Sophia,
after she has purified the sanctuary
of her body on Golgotha.

No power of evil can prevent her
from opening her will unto the Spirit.
Then she enters, singing the songs of victory,
into the eternal feast of love.

Just about everyone I know is on a spiritual quest of some sort. GodSense is a delightful devotional book that takes the reader step-by-step on a year long journey of thoughts, Bible readings, meditations, prayers, and personal applications on subjects such as faith, joy, living in the moment, and simplicity. The reader senses renewed spirituality, God-connection, and understanding of the true values of this life. It's a great read and has transformed my relationship with God.
