Indispensible for planning "on the go"

While camping in France and Germany for 2 weeks in the spring of 2008, we found 2007 Caravan & Camping Europe (AA Lifestyle Guides) to be the perfect aid for camping while on the go. We wanted to travel on our own free will and not make plans where to camp until each afternoon. So, we was able to find campgrounds located close to our intended routes of travel or points of interest using the maps at the back of the book to find the campground name, then turn to the front sections to locate more data about the campground. Camping in early spring meant that some campgrounds were still closed. With this book, we could find out what was open, if they had the services we needed and could punch an address into our GPS and arrive without delay. The book that came with our International Camping Card only showed campgrounds that offered discounts, so without the Caravan and Camping Europe book, we would have had less options.
The maps at the back of the book show all the campgrounds that are covered by the book but the map isn't very detailed but they're better than only having a list of campgrounds and not knowing where they might be in the country. You should have a road atlas or GPS to get accurate locations.

Though there was a misstep in mailing (the suite # was left off the address when originally mailed* & I paid additional postage), I was very pleased when I received this book. [*Don't know if this was my error or the shipper's error........]

Book's ONLY flaw in my opinion is that its not a book to put in your small bag--its about 11"x 14" in size but well worth it to use when travelling to the UK.

As an author, traveling to Scotland each summer isn't just to renew my muse, it's a great way to come up for air and rejuvinate mi' soul. And every summer, prior to arriving, I reach for this travel guide. Yeah, mine's dated from 2004, but of the stack I own, THIS one has the MOST info, broken down in such a fashion that it's like having your own tour guide/planner. And, I swear, every time I go through this book to coincide with whatever city I'm visiting, there's always something that I didn't see/notice before. This book is packed! It gives prices, websites, walking/driving tours/planning, kids days out, where to eat/sleep/shop, traditional sight seeing as well as off the beaten path for those of us wanting to throw on a backpack and simply follow the sunset. Well worth the money. Oh, and the cover is of quality that can withstand being tossed into a backpack, suitcase and the pages withstand being thumbed through, corners folded...again--worth the money!

Bought this for a trip to Italy involving a great deal of driving and it was invaluable. Really helped as we drove to the smaller hill towns in Tuscany. It was worth having to get an Atlas published in Great Britain. I advise you to not go without it.

When I first ventured into reading this wonderfully woven book, I entered a whole new world of magic. That magic was never absent throughout the entire journy and really excited me into learning more about buying and leasing cars. Although the title may lead a person on into believing the book to be dry, it is far from that. It is a excellently written book that gives you what you want from a book like this. When the reader finishs the book he feels he has learned a great deal about the subject. Buy and Leasing Cars has never been so fun!

This Triple A (Automobile Association of America) publication comes out every year with the latest information on new cars. The book is written in language that is easy to read and understand. I have been buying this book yearly from AAA (at full list price) until I discovered it's availability on Amazon! I am currently awaiting the latest edition - Autograph 2000 - which is due soon! I recommend anyone interested in purchasing a new automobile read this book. The book provides information about the safety, comfort, reliability and styling of the new cars. I find it to be extremely helpful when deciding what car to purchase! Read it - then drive!

Haveing just returned from a driving vacation through Austria Italy and Switzerland, I found the AAA Glovebox Atlas to be accurate, just detailed enough and easy to use. We were able to navigate through all three countries without a problem. The city maps were an added bonus.

Holstein was right on when he made this comment. I test drove the RL, and in my humble opinion it offers the best value and bang for your buck in this class. As he says, the ride isn't as cushy as the Lexus or Infiniti, but offers more road feel but without being bumpy due to the excellent suspension. This contrasts with the Audi, which had a harder suspension. The all-wheel drive provides great handling under all conditions, most of the Lexi having rear wheel drive, but there is an all wheel drive option in the GS, if I remember right. The RL also had the most sophisticated navigation unit, with real time traffic monitoring which currently works in over 40 cities. The headlamps, which turn left and right to follow the steering are also a nice feature. The Lexus LS had an 18 speaker stereo system compared with the RL's 11, but I found that enough and it offers true surround sound that is best appreciated by buying the DVD audio disks. The CMBS or collision mitigation breaking system works well and other minor features like the pull up window shades for the rear seats and the automatic window shade for the rear windshield are nice for the hot, bright months. Also, the navigation's operating system was the best of all the luxury sedan models we drove, the Lexus's and Audi's just weren't as good. I've been told that with the all wheel drive and ABS the car is just about impossible to roll. I like the interior the best of anything in its class except for the Audi which many consider the best in terms of design. But the RL is a close second. And the 300 hp V6 engine does sound impressive under acceleration just like he says. Some of the car writers complain about not having a V8 option which is commmon in this class, but I found the V6 more than adequate. All that means is that you can do 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds instead of 6.8. I'd rather have the better gas mileage these days in the V6. Overall we really liked the car and found it the best value in its class, offering the same features for $5000 less. In the case of the Lexus, it was probably even more, since they usually sell for close to the sticker price with not much of a discount, which you can get on the RL. Whichever car you choose, good luck and happy motoring!
