Abandoned ships, hidden treasure, spies and monsters!Review Date: 2005-01-21

go beyond Google EarthReview Date: 2008-06-28
The book shows what is now being done by various research and industrial groups, to understand and use such geo-linked data. Accompanied by numerous diagrams, especially in colour. These convey the richness of the information, and take advantage of the human hardwired ability to use the eye to analyse scads of data.
Plus, for those pondering starting a company that amasses or, more likely, use such information, you may get inspiration.

"interesting to read about past military leaders"Review Date: 2004-07-10
For anyone interested in strategic planning or battle tactics; you'll enjoy this book. Each captain outlined encompassed one chapter. At the end of each chapter Dodge pointed out the qualities and weaknesses of the captain, (eg. Napoleon). He also compared that captain to all the others.
I find leadership strengths in military situations equally interesting to those in business. You may as well.

A chapter written by Carolyn Meinel, insight and background to some of the more public "hacker" cases and how the scene has developed, give this a good read for anyone in Information & network security or IT for that matter. What is the beginnings of 2600? Detailing the White, Black, and Grey hats or the scene and culture, this is a definite read.

The best out there, but has flawsReview Date: 2007-04-08
I have a 2002 Dakota Quad Cab. There are two years before me and one year after me. I feel that the revisions to later model years isn't handled very well. I don't think that it justifies an entire separate manual, but it would be better if alternate diagrams/instructions were there for the later years.
In all, it didn't keep me from getting the jobs done. I would still get this manual over all others for this truck.

A Fun Trip With Dan'L And FriendsReview Date: 2001-09-02
Dan'l and his pals, Nolichucky Jack and Choctaw Indian Zeke Morningstar in particular, are in constant danger as they head north along the Natchez Trace trail from New Orleans to Boonesborough, Daniel Boone's self made hometown. Loaded with silver as payment for delivering large ice blocks to that southern port city, Dan'L and his crew are forced to battle through numerous traps and sneak attacks as they traverse northward.
The story is engaging, the characters well drawn and interesting. Dodge Tyler has an infective style. At times, the the rural, late eighteenth century period slang spewed by the characters is hard to follow, but man, is it fun! Tyler marinates every scene with local flavor and period history without slowing the story down. What I loved most is the humor Tyler laces throughout the book. I belly-laughed many times. Tyler is at his best when he creates a scene involving dialogue banter. Characters continually sling poison-tipped barbs at friends and foes, which broke me up and had me wondering why Tyler isn't more well known.
It's a fun book, Dan'L is a worthy, engaging, hero/protagonist, and I will definitely read more of Dodge Tyler. A three star book bumped up to four stars because Tyler remembered that adventure westerns are about escape and enjoyment. I had a blast reading this tale.

Early Santa Fe and Taos Art Colonies in Mabel's WorldReview Date: 2002-06-07
"Mabel's Santa Fe and Taos" gives a brief biography of Mabel and of many of the most famous people whose lives she influenced. The people covered in this book include Charles Lummis, Adolf Bandelier, the Taos Society of Artists, Alice Corbin Henderson and William Penhallow Henderson, Witter Bynner, Spud Johnson, Andrew Dasburg, D.H Lawrence and Frieda Lawrence, Dorothy Brett, and Georgia O'Keefe. This book also contains historical information about the culture of Taos and Santa Fe from 1900-1950, weaving together the people and the places in Mabel's world.
The text is informative and well written. Black and white photographs of the people and places are found throughout the book. Although this is an excellent overview that could be appreciated and understood by those new to the subject, it can also be used to summarize previous knowledge of the Santa Fe and Taos art colony during this time period.

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!Review Date: 2000-12-31
