I really enjoyed following Kane on his adventure. There is a very strong plot line in the story, with lots of action, and even a love story thrown in for good measure. If you like series, this is a must read. I can't hardly wait for the next part to come out. I highly recommend this book! If you like westerns...you will love this. ~bev bozman~

Annie Dodge Wauneka - An Example for Us All

Annie Dodge Wauneka overcame prejudice against women, Indigenous People, and Dine'. She had the support of a fine man who was happy to stay home and run the ranch and raise their children so that she could make a huge difference in the lives of The People. She travelled and influenced members of Congress and Presidents. Her motto was, "I must go and do more", which she did, because it was hers to do and it needed doing. Every Indigenous female ought to read this book. I think if they did, we'd have fewer problems with domestic abuse, enabling, and alcohol and drug use by males (who start out as boys) and females alike.

A excellent book for Dodge-lovers. Has a lot of imformation on Dodge cars from Dodge inception (1914) to date. Has identification, rating, appraisal etc. on every Dodge car except, curiously, one. The Dodge Aspen. A car that, in R/T, Super Coupe, and Kit Car dressing are very collectible. Has Mirada, Omni, Spirit, Shadow, why not Aspen?

Anyone interested in the White Mountains of New Hampshire will be fascinated by this compelling account of Joe Dodge, the real Old Man of the mountains. Putnam weaves humor and tragedy with his own personal knowledge of the man who was perhaps most responsible for the modern perception of the Northern Peaks. AMC Hutmaster, pioneer SAR organizer, co-founder of the Mount Washington Observatory, organizer of the legendary Inferno races from the summit of Washington to Pinkham Notch, it's all told in this wonderful book.

Keats

Review Date: 2007-07-14
Keats by Edward Thomas was first published in 1916 in The People's Books'. This is one of a number of works republished by The Cyder Press. The intension of these republications is to showcase long out of print and little known works of a group of individuals known as the Dymock Poets. These Georgian poets gathered at the town of Dymock, in Gloucestershire, to create a literary periodical called New Numbers. Unfortunately, only four issues of New Numbers were published before the World War I forced publication to end.

Thomas was commissioned to write this book as both a biography and an overall review of Keats work. At the time, Thomas had published much prose. He had also created numerous poems which he readily sent to family and friends. However, it was around this point in time that Thomas started focusing on his publication efforts on publishing his own poetry.

These unique aspects create several distinct reasons to re-discovery this book. For reasons I cannot fathom, this book went largely unrecognized and forgotten. This is despite that Thomas does a very thorough job of not only reviewing Keats work but also showing the reader why Keats wrote his works in the first place. This makes the book not only educational but eye opening in some cases. Moreover, within this book, the reader can easily read between the lines and almost hear Thomas planning and creating his own style, feel, and purpose for his future poetry. Thus, this work tells the reader almost as much about Thomas as it does about Keats.

Great short stories!

Well, I must say this turned out absolutely great. I don't know how exactly to classify this--short story collection or novel? The stories are all interconnected, and yet obviously they carry a very visible detachment as well. Either way, I'm more than happy with how this turned out. It's a very personal collection, one that a lot of people can relate to. We're all trying to escape from Dodge County at some point in our lives, trying to start over. How we deal with our ghosts and make the most of our lives depends on each individual.

All the things you wanted to know about Rome, but didn't know who to ask

This richly illustrated and large (12" x 8") book serves as an excellent companion to any study of Roman history or to the popular drama by the BBC, "ROME." I refer to it often and have found that I can read the same chapter over and over again without growing bored. The pictures and illustrations are well-chosen and often beautiful. The text is informative without being obtrusive and delves into subjects that fascinate the modern reader, such as Roman sexuality (there is an entire chapter on "Erotic Love.") In addition, the food and drink, clothing, religion, commercial enterprises, and funeral rites are covered. There is a new edition (2007, search for "Life in Ancient Rome Nigel Rodgers), but I can't speak to that, as I don't have it.
