Professor Stark has a perceptive understanding of his material, and his manner of presentation is outstanding. My wife, a
divorce attorney who dealt with abused women in New York City, heard Dr. Stark speak and came back enthused.

If you are burned out or fed up in the daily grind of domestic violence field work, this book will invigorate you. Battered
women always say that the physical violence is the least of what they endure... yet the legal and social services systems,
media and society increasingly place incident-specific physical abuse front and center. This book offers a frank examination
of how the organized domestic violence movement may be enabling this approach -- which is so at odds with battered women's
experiences -- and provides a rich, insightful and honest examination of the reality of women's lives under the control of
abusive partners.

This is a beautifully, compassionately written little book on learning to honor your body, respect your needs, and take care
of yourself. Berry teaches self-nurturance in one of the best ways that it can be fully experienced: on a moment-to-moment,
daily basis. She encourages readers to take good care of their bodies through regular physicals, nutrition, exercise, massage,
hot baths, and more. Included are delightfully sensual and joyous ideas for self-nurturance, and many little quizzes to see
where you are in the process of self-nurturance. Extremely valuable for those who have become disconnected from their bodies,
as well as for women who have experienced childhood trauma. A wonderful gift for a close friend or a sister. Most of all--for
yourself! Highly recommended.

This book helped me de-program all those messages that make women think they have little value unless they are thin, firm
and young. This book opened my eyes. Short, daily meditations teach us to enjoy and respect our miraculous bodies.

This a wonderful resource for anyone interested in breast health, particularly breast cancer. It covers a wide range of topics
and directs the reader to other valuable sources for additional information. The authors encourage readers with computers
to "go online" for the most up to date information about breast cancer (that's how I got to this Amazon.com site!).
Of all the books I've read so far about breast health, this is the best. It's written at just the right level for the layman.
Not too technical, yet not full of fluff. A bargain at Amazon.com's (discounted!) price of $22.50

When I needed a complete understanding of breast cancer and everything concerning treatment options,Dr. Lauersen and Ms. Stukane's
book, laid out all the info for me. Everything one needs to know, concerning the breast is in this book. It is almost a year
since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This book greatly helped me to prepare myself for making my treatment options
understandable. Knowledge is an important tool when making treatment choices. I still keep this book close at hand,so that
I can refer to it's information when I need it and to help friends with their questions and concerns. Dr. Lauersen's books
have always been favored guides to help me answer so many questions. I'm sure that many women will agree that clear and
understandable anwers are what is needed. Thankyou, Dr. Lauersen and Ms. Stukane.

Blaivas does something here that no other urologist has ever done. He has written a book that answers any and every question,
but he has written it in a way that is easy to understand. He even intertwines humor, so rare in a informational medical
book. His compassion, understanding, and extensive knowledge far surpassed my expectations. If you have even thought about
buying this book, then do it. It will help.

This book is a comprehensive review of contraception, past, present, and future. It is well written and organized, in a style
that is easy to ingest and with the occasional droll aside. I particularly enjoyed the "History of Contraception" chapter
and the provocative chapter entitled "The Current Status of Contraception." There are many misconceptions about contraception.
Dr. Connell provides the consumer with important information so they are not misled by the inaccuracies in media reporting.
A "must read" for all couples of childbearing age.

This very enjoyable--and approachable--book helps make sense of the confusing world of contraception. I found myself chuckling
in amazement at some of the ways we humans have tried to control childbirth throughout history. The information about today's
contraceptive methods is accurate and easy to understand. Highly recommended.
