I have read many books on overeating and body acceptance over the years, but this is the best! After just reviewing a few pages, I was hooked. She was talking to me...about me.. and I felt a connection like never before. This book put me in touch with feelings I haven't felt in years and have been avoiding by using food to quiet all the noise.....and my hungers are VERY LOUD. Thank you...thank you..for your insight. This book nurtured me!

When I bought the book I thought it would talk about healthy food & healthy eating habits.The book was more than that since it relates eating with self-confedence & dealing with problems,which solved the question I have always been asking myself :"why am eating if I'm not hungery?".

This book spoke to my concerns. Most of all, I was relieved to realize that I did not have Alzheimer's. The science was clear and convincing. I saw myself as "Ellen" whose story, among others, is a big part of this book. Her successful treatment has made me much more hopeful for myself. I now feel in control of myself and my health. I loved this book.

After reading this book, I was finally able to have a proper talk with my gyne MD without feeling intimidated. I am 39 with cold sweats at nights for two years. My memory was a family joke. Words popped out of my mouth that I did not mean to say. My gyne kept saying there was nothing wrong with me, that my blood looked fine. Breast cancer scared me too. I found the chapters on different symptoms of peri-menopause, types of natural hormones, and brain exercises especially helpful. Thanks and I would recommend this book wholeheartedly.

After reading the book, I am overwhelmed with relief that I'm probably not losing my mind, and if I am, there may be some solutions. I am 40 years old, and for the past 2 years, I have been frustrated by my increasing inability to recall important events in my daily life. Anyone who knows me knows this is so out of character for me. Thanks to Dr. Devi, now I know I may not have to live like this. Not that I never heard of hormone replacement before, but Dr. Devi's clear explanations of the more natural, yam based hormones have definitely eased my anxieties about this type of treatment.

I recommend this book wholeheartedly to every woman with questions or concerns about hormone replacement therapy.

This is an excellent book. It tells how to be a healthy woman from a natural foods standpoint. The author is not fanatical and what he says makes sense. My other book is falling apart and I have just ordered another one from Amazon.

This book has been a very helpful guide for nutrition and beauty care. Everyone I have lent it to has gone out and bought her own copy. However, I do think that too little attention is paid to the special needs of women of African descent. For example, I would have appreciated something on the effects on the scalp of chemically straightening the hair.

This is a great reference for women of all ages, who are interested in alternative medicine. From pregnancy to menopause and everything in between.

I first encountered this book when I was expecting my son (born in 1975). The format was easy to read, informative and positive in its approach. I passed copies to my younger sisters, and (most recently) my sister-in-law, so that they could benfit from the information it contained. The book is well-written, clear and factual--after all, Dr.Llewellyn-Jones IS a respected physician! There are sketches and explanations throughout. This is one book which is a "must read" for any mother-to-be (and her husband). I highly recommend it.

I AM ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTORS OF THIS BOOK. I HAD NOT READ ANY OF THE OTHER STORIES UNTIL THE BOOK CAME OUT. IT WARMS MY HEART TO SEE THAT SO MANY OF US NOT ONLY MADE IT OUT, BUT REACHED HEIGHTS IN OUR LIVES WE COULD NEVER EVEN DREAM OF BEFORE. THIS BOOK SHOWS US ALL THERE IS HOPE. IT INSPIRES THE READER WHO MAY NOT BE THERE YET THAT THEY CAN DO IT TOO. WE HOLD THE POWER LADIES--AND THE EVOLVING WOMAM IS PROOF!

This book is a must read for all women. It's packed with inspiration for all people still stuck in abusive relationships. All these women made it out and have a good life to show for it. It's a great read!

What determination it has taken for the individuals who contributed to this book. It shows that they had the courage to overcome their own personal situation and achieve where they are in life today. What an inspiration to those that still need the hope. I know, for I am one of the "survivors"!

This book was an amazing tool during the pregnacy (and birth) of my second child. The exercises are described in amazing detail which is extrememly helpful if one is unfamiliar with pilates. On the other hand, it can also be challenging to those who are at an advanced level, who have been doing pilates for years. That is the beauty of this book. It can be catered to each and every individual based on their personal needs and goals. There are protocols for every stage of the pregnancy which is helpful if you are unsure of what to do. This book strengthened both my body and mind and gave me a true understanding of the pilates principles. The only problem is that I didn't have this book with my first pregnancy! The aches and pains I experienced the first time around were non existent, and I felt so much stronger during the actual labor and birth. I also seem to be getting my body back a lot faster this time. Highly recommended!

Elizabeth is a gifted teacher and has a wonderful way of seeing the human body. Her years of experience in dance and Pilates along with her own journey of giving birth (four times!) make her a wonderful partner for any mother-to-be. Whether you're already in shape and looking to stay fit during your pregnancy or you want to improve your fitness prior to the birthing process, Elizabeth's book is an excellent guide!

When my wife and I found out that we were expecting our first child, being that we both teach Pilates, we went straight for this workbook. The title in itself is intensely exciting. The information within, while concentrating on women, is a good reference for men in getting to know women better. For a woman, it covers many issues concentrating on how to live better in the second half, and those unanswered female quotions. I myself just reached that threshold, the Golden Fifty, and found this book to be interestingly educational in confronting the more important issues at hand for the second part of life. It's like graduating from High School and entering that College door !
I would recommend this book to anyone who is questioning what they should plan for, for their next 50 years...

Dr Sundaram's book is filled with understanding and obvious experience. She offers comprehensive solutions to skin problems and gives multiple alternatives to skin care that do not just sell her products - for example she offers an inexpensive alternative skin care plan to products that may be purchased with a dermatologist only. As someone with scarring/skin care issues, I felt she really puts herself in the patient's shoes. I highly recommend this book!

This book shows that in a spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ there is really no long term pain in the death of a loved one; but the sacred and divine opportunity of completed healing, for the ones who love them. The perfect book for the Alzheimer patient and their family.

I, too, read the book from cover to cover at one sitting. It is beautifully written, filled with brutal honesty as well as overwhelming love and compassion. It also has some excellent resources and recommendations for those trying to cope with the tragedy of the disease. I couldn't recommend the book more highly.

I cannot begin to tell you how very much I enjoyed reading this book. Once I began reading,,I just couldn't put it down until I totally completed it. This book has touched me and brought out many emotions of smiles, laughter and tears and I can relate to it as a chronic caregiver.I recommend this book to everyone not only to people who are in caregiving situations for a member of their family having Alzheimers...but for all family sicknesses.
