"Liberating" says Brandeis University Magazine ReviewReview Date: 2008-04-15
In Cut Cords of Attachment, she argues for liberating personal relationships from the limitations of old patterns.
Are your interactions with your brother dominated by memories of sibling bullying? Does your college roommate always bring you down with her anger at men? Do you find yourself defending your life choices to your mom?
Whatever the pattern, Rosetree says, you can preserve the relationship while cutting the cord that binds, freeing you to interact in new ways. The book includes a "12-Step" program for severing such ties.

Dating advice is both serious and hilarious all at the same timeReview Date: 2008-05-22
Rachael Zavala has got to be one of the most inventive women of modern time. While being a mother to her three children and having a significant other, she still managed to have the time to write this inspirational piece of literature. Without the fancy degrees and no formal training in Psychology or the social sciences (by her own admission), Ms. Zavala managed to compile a volume of information that will intrigue both men and women.
While "Dating rEvolution" is intended for women, it's an interesting book for men. This book has to do with a woman's advice to women and is an intriguing look at the dating scene through the eyes of a normal person. Not a psychologist or some Sociology major (looking to acquire information for a thesis), Rachael is just an experienced girl that has, "been there, done that." I could tell she wrote from the heart when she mentions things like, "the more clueless the man, the crazier the woman." I have been in this situation and I had to chuckle about that one.
She has a "Fun List" of things to do to avoid the drama of dating and I can understand where she is coming from. Ms. Zavala's chapter on "Clingons" was informative and related to the crazies in where she cautions against being overbearing. She tells the reader to not badger her date with text messages and emails least she becomes known as a "Clingon."
When she finally introduces chapter 7, I was most intrigued to read what a woman would say to other women on the subject of sex. My prayers were answered; she was very honest, and open, about the fact that women have it on their minds too. Contrary to popular belief, I was glad to hear that I am not alone in this aspect of relationships. As Ms. Zavala puts it, not all women are as adamant about it as men, but she advises her readers to enjoy it. That's all I will divulge on this chapter as I really think this is a great little 103-page book.
"Dating rEvolution" is masterfully done and very well written. No holds barred, no punches pulled, it tells it like it should be told. Rachael talks to the reader like a street-wise hooker, with the wisdom of Solomon and the Christian beliefs of Mary. She cautions where caution is to be taken and gives the green light when the situation is right. But best of all, once you read "Dating rEvolution," you will know when that time has arrived. I gave the book a raving A+ and recommend it to the guys too! We deserve to know as much as the girls.

Debi really wants her readers to succeed at creating a life they love. This is obvious here. It is also evident by the EXTRA BONUS she gives readers,a free audio download and the incredible website support that is available for anyone ready to dig in and create their best life and body.
This book has a heartbeat.
Finally, great advice for changing your life Review Date: 2008-06-13
She writes about your life in many different fascets, we are not one sided, and neither is her approach. She gives a great deal of advice on nutrition, relationships, emotions, spirituality, stress control, and yes, fitness. Her advice is basically to take baby steps to make progress, for example trying to cut back on eating? Decide how much you will drink at a party before you leave, alternate your drinks with water, cut your drinks with spritzer. Order an appetizer instead of an entree.
So often advice books ask you to make radical changes that are difficult to stick with. I think that Debi Silber has really grasped that small changes made over time add up to lasting change. I think being a mom, having children, relationships with others, are taxing enough. Putting yourself through radical change is only going to heap more stress upon you. Stick with this book and the advice given, and you will see those changes that you desire.

Recognize the Crave and Live the Life Purposed for YouReview Date: 2008-07-27
Sibler is an expert in nutrition, a certified personal trainer and skilled whole health coach. She has worked with busy mothers for nearly thirty years and she has combined all of her years of training both textbook and on-the-job in this total resource manual. Sibler takes the many facets of being a mother and uncovers them one issue at a time. There are several caught my attention:
* recognize and fulfill the crave
* learn the words (baked, broiled, roasted, creamy, sautéed, ) that help you know if the dish is fatty or not
* control the lapse - find out why you made a relapse, deal with it, control it and make a decision to regain control
* categorize your stress, manage the issue, delegate and let go
* modify your idea of weight loss success - its not all in the poundage
* pay it forward by sharing your successes with others
THE LIFESTYLE FITNESS PROGRAM is a unique workbook that will provide eye opening advice for the dedicated mom. This is not a guide to guilt you into making changes but a motivational tool that encourages you to make incremental modifications that you can easily incorporate into your everyday life. Oh, did I mention the free audio download and emailed emotional support...more than a book it's a personal trainer/wellness coach that you can carry with you.

A beautiful tribute to not only a well-loved person but to life in generalReview Date: 2008-01-22
Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan team up to write a beautiful tribute to the life of Manahan's deceased sister-in-law in "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully: A Journey with Cancer and Beyond." The authors hope not only to remember their loved one in print but to share her extraordinary passage from unthinkable diagnosis to dignified death.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is the touching story of Diane Manahan - wife, mother, grandmother, sister, colleague, and friend - and her deliberate pathway toward the unavoidable end of her life. Stricken with cancer, Diane received the short gift of remission before the disease returned with a vengeance and ultimately caused her death. Although countless families have had to endure such a painful ordeal, Diane's story brings an enlightened hope and calming peace as she looks at her situation with an unusual perspective. To most, death is the ultimate unknown - terrifying and avoided in conversation. Instead of settling in this mindset, Diane chose to live and love each day to the fullest while openly communicating her final wishes on most of her burial and memorial services.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is not only a deeply heartfelt story of a woman's life but a guidebook for those facing similar situations and would like to intentionally leave behind a beautiful legacy. Both Diane's story and the authors' lessons from her life touch the soul and encourage the heart to see death as more than merely `the end.' Manahan and Bohan write with such emotion and love that I found myself mourning Diane's death but conversely, rejoicing in her conscious life. They perfectly capture this woman's spirit with their style, one which brightly radiates from each page.
Since death in inevitable for everyone "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is a book many adults will find of great interest, especially those having to watch a loved one suffer from a terminal illness. Further, those undergoing a disease themselves and wanting to approach their deaths with more purpose would also greatly benefit from reading this book. I found that the most profound aspect of Manahan and Bohan's writing was that Diane - a non-violent person - didn't view her treatments as a `fight,' a `war' going on between her medicine and the invading cells, or that she was a victim of cancer. Instead and more positively, she was simply living with cancer - a peaceful journey full of love and mature acceptance even during her conventional and complementary therapies.
"Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" is probably the most profound book on death I've ever read. Manahan and Bohan present a beautiful story of their loved one while offering hope to others that may be facing similar circumstances. A life lesson for anyone wanting to leave a more powerful heritage behind, "Living Consciously, Dying Gracefully" tugs at the heartstrings, lifts the spirit, and pulls the conscious mind towards a more meaningful life and dignified ending.
Lessons in LivingReview Date: 2007-09-17
As a hospice volunteer I encountered a variety of texts and articles on death and dying, but there is a completeness to this book that makes it one I know I will return to as a source of comfort and guidance.
The four core sections of the book focus on Diane Manahan's breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, her physical death, the lessons that continue to unfold with her family and friends, and a guidebook containing practical applications.
Excerpts from Diane's journal give readers insight into the spectrum of emotions she experiences. We see her not only as a remarkable woman (nurse educator, wife, mother, friend, musician, athlete), but fully human as she acknowledges all aspects of her character in facing such a daunting challenge with courage, dignity and humor.
Authors Nancy Manahan and Becky Bohan have written a loving tribute which inspires and educates.

This story is about Eileen and was written by her mother. Eileen fought hard against the effects of Lupus. Every setback that was thrown at her she fought against, and in the end, she lost. But her strength and perserverance moved me.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. Lupus is a disease that is not as widely known as others, but is very devastating. We need to to find a cure for this illness so no more people die from it.
