Having read every diet book on the market, I bought this one to add to my collection! It had practical advice, and insight for me, that I had not heard before. What a neat surprise! It's a quick read and well worth, the price.

There are so many reasons to love "Your Best Body Yet" By Sheri Zampelli. Here's my top three. One: You can throw your conventional or trendy pick of the month diet plan out the window! Forget low carb dieting and calorie counting. Here, you get the fundamentals: A natural approach to treasuring your body and taking care of it as you would a most precious possession. Two: It is a fresh, common sense approach to loving your body. This means letting go of all negative energy. Energy which keeps you from fully embracing the beauty of what you have - right now. Three: The endless reel of relaxing, feel good meditations that literally recruit the psyche to work, molding and shaping your Best Body from the vision you create. As a bonus, you can program your body to do all this while you are at rest, or asleep. A must own, wealth of healthy knowledge.

A real must read!

As a nutritionist and eating disorders specialist, I think this book is long overdue. It does an excellent job of helping people to realize that the standards of the world are not the standards of God and that genetics has a great deal to deal with weight.(Stunkard et al. An adoption study of human obesity. New England Journal of Medicine: 1986: 314:193-197). It also discusses how to deal with medical professionals and others who try to force you into an unnatural mold. The negative effects of dieting are discussed (i.e. dieting leads to other eating disorders, obsession with food,and/or often more weight gain). I highly recommend this book as people try to normalize their eating and get on with their lives with the recognition that we are not all supposed to be the same. Very informative book on glycemic index diet and foods that either increase insulin output or keep it stable. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

My 24-year-old son developed triglyceride levels - over 750. He was not obese, but perhaps 15 pounds overweight.

His doctor immediately put him on Lopid and other meds. This resulted only in allergic responses and developing liver toxicity.

In desperation for a cure, I searched the web and decided to give this cookbook a try.

After 5 weeks or so of cooking according to its recipes - my son's triglycerides were 350 and good (HDL) cholesterol was within normal range.

His doctor swore that diet and exercise would be of no use! He was so arrogant and tried to dismiss me despite my 27 years as a nurse.

A remarkable self-help book, which balances your food choices-and balances food with exercise-so you can design your own best eating style. Maggie has a talent for putting scientific information to use in clear, practical ways. Her unique approach to self-care reflects 17-years of teaching Self-Designed Fitness at MIT, as well as training teachers, helping clients, and starring in her owm TV show on careful exercise. Using Maggie's guidelines to analyze how each one suits you, you can become your own expert in eating well, and take charge of your diet forever.

Even though the book is named "the magic pill" Dr Garcia is quick to point out that there is no such thing. He describes, however, how Xenical was the magic pill for him and how it helped him, in combination with a change in diet and exercise, to lose 150 pounds. The book combines personal experiences, medical advice and a good description of the weight loss pill Xenical in what makes a very good read for anyone that is ready to make the commitment to lose weight. I might be prejudiced, having lost 25 kg with Xenical before reading the book, but the book gives good insight into how one can be helped with weight loss using Xenical. Highly recommended!

It's refreshing to read a book that doesn't restrict you from eating certain food categories or one that tells you to overload on certain types of food. This book is sensible and sets guidelines on how manage your food intake in a very novel way. It also gives good suggestions on what to do when eating out, exercise programs and ways to improve your mental well being (such as meditation). This is the best all around book anyone could purchase if they're interested in having and maintaining a healthy life style. I highly recommend it.
